I have to say, Matt has an awesome voice, but he bored me to death live. He just didn't seem to be present in the moment when I saw him a few years ago. Stu is much more engaging at the live shows and is clearly enjoying every second of it. Plus...he does every older song justice, and then adds his own spin, which is perfect. Own it...make your mark on it...but don't ruin it.

I thought ripper was excellent with iced earth and deserved more of a chance but stu is simply outstanding. a perfect hybrid of both their styles and its amazing he went unnoticed by the band for so long

Stu absolutely blew me away. Let me put it this way: the encore was Dante's fuckin Inferno and Iced Earth, and he NAILED THEM. Also rocked perfect renditions of Angel's Holocaust, Declaration Day, and When The Night Falls. The new chapter of Iced Earth is set to be totally amazing!

Barlow left once before.. it sucked, and people bitched. He came back, did another album and major tour... let him focus on his family in peace. The guy is a cop.. you cant be a cop and tour 8 months a year. It doesnt really work out, especially in these times when Metal groups like IE aren't making much money to begin with. IE has always been fine with different vocalists. IE will continue to be fine, as long as Jon is at the helm. So STFU and enjoy the music.

I might get abused for saying this...but I think Stu is perfect for Iced Earth. Through all the changes they have made throughout the years, I think with Stu, you get tue best of everyone. Yes, Matt has always been the "voice" of the band, he left once, they got an amazing singer in the Ripper, then Matt came back and it felt right. But then he left again and what you are left with is a library of songs that has the deep Matt vocals and also songs with the Rippers amazing high voice. So what do

@PuDdleS6666 I agree that barlowe is "the voice" of iced earth, but to say iced earth couldnt exist without him is incorrect..he is not the original vocalist, Gene Adam was, and if he was no good, iced earth would never have taken off, and tim owens held his own too. I saw them live with tim owens. the ripper is a great singer his place is just not with judas priest or iced earth...in any event, I'm seeing them live again with this new guy on the 20th and in my book its still iced earth
