With dunking all it needs is practise. NBA players don't have the time for that plus theres an injury risk.

They don't get paid to be dunkers they get paid to be ball players, and to play to the best of there ability many of them make the decision to gain some muscle mass at the expense of vertical, because it's hard to move that extra weight. If you look at these guys they're all really thin. 6' 175lbs. 5'10" 165 etc..
