and more expensive, and from reviews i've seen much less gas mileage. To top it off, the RT still couldn't take down the new camaro with a 6k less price tag compared to the dodge. Not going to bash the Challenger though. I think both cars are great looking in their own perspectives. I would be happy to own either of em.

GM had a new Camaro on display at a car show in Greenwich Conn in June. I was amazed at how WIDE it is! It is as wide as a pickup truck. It seemed a bit AMC Pacer like to me.

The Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR just beat the ZR1's lap time on the Nurburgring...the ZR1 has the fastest PRODUCTION CAR time, the ACR has the fastest time ever.

Even I, a lover of American cars, thought that the Viper handled like shit. Who knew it could beat a Vette, even if the SRT10 WAS modified?

As for the GT-R vs. ZR1...I'd take both. That's just how I roll ;-)

well the viper acr is a production car, its like saying the zr1 or 911 gt3. it got the fastest time with a crap driver. i could have gotten a better time than that driver. and if im not mistaken it is actually cheaper than the zr1 with a $98,000 price tag.

The ACR IS NOT a production car because it IS NOT PRODUCED by Chrysler, it is the product of a modiying company, like the Saleen Mustang. The ZR1 is made directly by GM, and is is not modified by any other company.

Of the three, the Camaro seems to have the best execution in that the finished product seems to be closest to the Concept Car version. The interior is superb, but the Mustang is getting an interior update. The Challenger looks fantastic, closer to the old Challenger. The Camaro has a blend of old and new like the Mustang. All are FANTASTIC options for anyone considering a new muscle car. Now the big question is, who will win the horsepower wars?

Hemis make the sexiest sound known to man. The Challenger is a classic. Having said that, if you think about it, Dodge's SRT8 engines really kind of...suck. 6.1L and they only can get 425 HP out of it? The Corvette ZR1 only has .1 more liters and it gets over 200 more horsepower.

Not to mention, SRT8s don't handle very well.

you cant call the dodge or the ford compitition coz the camaro beat them both in every way. look at the stats handles better, looks better and its looking like there going to have a ls9 powered zr1 camaro with a supercharger and that in itself will kick anything out of the water

Actually, with the weight of the Camaro and Challenger, the Mustang GT should be able to hang with both the SS and SRT-8. Besides, pricing hasn't been announced for the Camaro yet, which will determine if the Camaro survives or not.

And I don't know where you got the info about a ZR-1 Camaro, but it's bogus. GM is waiting to see how well the SS sells, and then it MIGHT consider an LS7-powered Z/28. The LS9 will remain a Corvette-exclusive powerplant.
