  • A portion of information to clear the air a little. For the people quoting movies such as the howling and An american werewolf in london, these are just that movies with effects produced by teams such as knb and rick baker.

  • @wolfenpixels As for the prementioned historical facts , Wolves are a preditory animal and will kill a small child before a cow, why... simpley it is far easier and it won't be kicked by 400+ pounds of meat. There are cases of lycanthropy in all natures of the meaning ranging from native rituals to lunitics, this does not mean that all werewolves are bad some were protectors of kings.

  • What is intriguing is all the wolf attacks. I wonder what scientists say. Was this normal?

  • I think you'll find that Nurse Alex in American Werewolf was played by Jenny Agutter, not "Jenny Agouta". And how is a London hospital "nearby" to the Yorkshire Moors?

  • Bloody hell! The wolves just run straight over the top of that peacock! Haha, poor bastard looked shocked as all hell. I'm really enjoying this doco man! You've done so well!!

  • WHOOOHOOOOO AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON!

    WHOOOHOOOOO THE HOWLING!

    WHOOOHOOOOO THE WEREWOLF!

  • The first Howling was okay, then anything after sucked.

  • Thanks for this !

  • @MyVorpal You're very welcome!

  • i love this kind documentary totally awesome great narrator love subjects on the occult aliens vampires and werewolves awesome......

  • 09:10 XD They ran over the peacock! That's kinda funny, given it's a horror movie, right?

  • heeey so um im 13 and i want to see this movie more than anything right now. ima girl. i dont want to ask my mom if i can rent it, she won't let me i dont think. could u or someone plz post it?? plz?

  • @cullenpartyanimal

    seriously?

  • @cullenpartyanimal are you talking about wolfman or werewolf in london, whichever one, you should google it and type megavideo or movshare at the end, i believe you can find pretty much any video with that (the searchbar should look like: watch wolfman on megavideo/wolfman movshare, or something like that) it should show up.

  • haha they used condoms

  • Cool little homage to werewolf films over the years, but I have to take exception when you state that Rob Bottin's greatest work was on the "The Howling". ( 7:42 ) In fact, his greatest work was done while working on John Carpenter's "The Thing", a movie in which the practical effects still rival much of what comes out of Hollywood today. Loved the series so far... great job!

  • @GunHed17 Yeah, The Thing did have some great effects and still give me the heebee jeebees. That movie is gross. That's what makes it great today.

  • Haha! Angela Landsbury in....."Murdered, She Was!"

    Great copulation of classics, Jacob!

  • you should documented part of this on the Benandanti but great job.

  • Jacob, if you created this documentary, it's not bad. If you're the narrator, however, you have a lot to learn about injecting emotion into your voice, changing your tonality and working to not misprounonce words. Still, keep at it.

  • @theScytheofGod Yeah, I kind of wanted to keep my narration apart from expressing emotions because it may convey an opinion, and in professional documentaries like I've seen on the History Channel and such, that's a no no. It ruins the omnipotence of the narrator.

  • @theScytheofGod And besides, nobody watching this documentary is interested in my opinions, they just want to watch the documentary and learn. Perhaps, when I do another documentary It'll be different. It just depends on what it is I'm covering. Thanks for your opinion!

  • @theScytheofGod Also, I just wanted people to learn something, not get a piece of my ego or personality lol.

  • @JacobTheRedWolf Keep at it, do what you love.

  • awesome job jacob ignore the haters. there is no need to defend yourself. lets see them write/read/edit a documentary thanks for making these awesome vids

  • @ZacIsAtWork Thanks, man.

  • Jacob i hope you are not letting these people get you down man. this is a very well done piece that clearly you wrote/directed/edited there are poeple that dont have anything better to do then crit other peoples worth. thanks for making an awsome documentary about my fav mytholgical creature!

  • @ZacIsAtWork Thanks, man. :)

  • 5:42 the garbage monster

  • To the maker of this video. Learn to write without spoiling what you're talking about for others. Twenty seconds into the video you already gave away the ending to a movie I planned on watching. Caption this with spoiler alerts for all the other films you ruined through the rest of this doc.

  • @eliqueiros3 I've just done it. Sorry about that, I should have done that a long time ago.

  • which version is that blue moon song from?

  • @geffcardo American werewolf in london.

  • Hey dude, what do you think of Howling 3? Personally, I like it.

  • 7:43...It DID NOT go down as his(Bottin's) Best work.

That was reserved for his image/diversity of John Carpenter's The Thing! \m/

He put SOOO much time and effort into that shape-shifting monster/film that he ended up in the hospital...due to his extreme lack of sleep and diet of Snickers bars and soda.

This is where Bottin (not 'Bot' "tin") surpassed even Baker with innovative/imaginary visuals and effects!

    Kick ass Rob!!!! \m/

Props to Stan Winston for helping Rob see it through!

  • This is to TASHKENTFOX.. The film your looking for with peter cushing in it is called THE BEAST MUST DIE , you can get it from hmv for a fiver" i saw it the other day good film" , "wait for the werewolf break lol".

  • I always wondered though- Why does everyone think were-wolves have to be brown, when they look cooler as gray wolf-people? Just imagine it.

  • I know what you mean, but actually the werewolf in the Howling and American werewolf are that grey salt and peppery color . for some reason in both films they appear brown.

  • Does anyone remember the Werewolf movie with Peter Cushing where the 'werewolf' was played by a very cute German Shepherd.

  • I always thought the 'wolf man' creature in Hammer's 1961 film Curse Of The Werewolf starring Oliver Reed was a better wolf man creature than the Lon Chaney film.

It's a shame you didn't include it in your clips. The Hammer film is better than the Universal film overall in my opinion.

Of course, An American Werewolf In London is the greatest lycanthropy based film ever though.

  • 03:58 Nice doggy? o_o;

  • American Werewolf In London is still the best werewolf movie ever, and let me tell you- I've crossed those moors at night and the locals do indeed believe in all sorts of weird and wonderful things that supposedly lurk in the countryside.

  • Thank you very much for you compliments. For the record, I was not trying to be a jerk; only trying to defend myself. When you've been writing as long as I have you tend to pick up descriptive words and a distinct writing style and yes, I am only 24 but I've read some very old books written by great writers, and have written several short stories and one novel myself. I can imagine why it would look like I stole other peoples writing.

Anyway, thank you for your feed back.

  • Great job, Jacob, so I'm sorry to have to criticise on a couple of points.

You read it pretty well, but it's clear you're reading someone else's essay, so you really should be giving them credit for it.

And if you're going to include names of people and places from other languages, you *have* to learn how to pronounce them first.

Otherwise, you did a great job putting all that footage and still shots together, and it's really interesting to watch. Thanks for your efforts!

  • Let me make myself clear. I am a writer. I do NOT plagiarize other peoples work. Yes, I research the information and use their points, but I also add on to them while at the same rewording it in my own style of writing.

I researched the information, reworded it, and wrote it down in a Word so I could read it while recording my voice. Of course I'm reading something, but its my research and my style of writing.

Of course I'll give credit, at the end of the documentary in the credits.

  • lol (i've always wanted to say that) nice vid :)

  • Excellent narration and imformative with it,i could not of done any better.

  • excellent.

    really informative and interesting.

  • me werewolf rape kill MURDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah, you do that, we'll watch utube

  • i was of course joking

  • @Rajalord27 Youtube -

They Sold Their Souls For Rock And Roll

  • @Rajalord27 But why rape D:

    BAD DOG! BAD!

    Control your hormones, puppy.

  • This was my favourite horror film as a kid!

I must have watched it over a thousand times.

I think it was the mix of both the humour and gore and effects that were astounding for their time!

Good movie!(as David says to Jack in the porno theatre.)

  • American werewolf in London is an awesome movie, and it has it's funny moments!^^

  • very good and informative, excellent work...I thought amer wwolf in london was best special effects as far as changing into a wolf, remember when that movie 1st came out, lol. 5stars

  • An American Werewolf in London was my favorite werewolf movie of all time. I highly recommned you watch it and its not even scary.

  • @embrycall7 it was scary to me that and The Howling!

  • cool

  • i love werewolf movies

  • Me too.

  • I enjoyed a film called Brotherhood Of The Wolf which I thought was randomly based in France. It turned out the story told was a fact but there was no account of the wolf being killed and so their film was given an ending the film makers thought were suitable. I thought it was a really good film and I reccomend everyone watches it i would say it would make a good addition to ur doccumentary.

  • It's in this documentary now. Part 5, 3 of 4.

  • It wasn't even a wolf in that movie though.

  • Thx guys.

  • Weird, I don't think the American werewolf in London werewolf is that scary, but then again, I suppose it's an entirely different story on-set.

  • Which one do you think is the scariest?

  • For me it's the one in Fright Night 2, even though I've never seen the movie itself, though the ones in The Howling are pretty darn creepy.

  • Nice choice. But, what about the one from Bad Moon?

  • That one was pretty scary, too.

  • I was hoping to see this. :) Great job by the way, can't wait to see Part 2.

  • Thnx for the update.
