This is perfectly legal and has a range of potential uses for a geek like me. There are a ton of potential uses for authentication via magstripe card.

In this video he was just piping the output into notepad, but it's actually pretty easy to use this with a micro controller because it's simple TTL Serial.

@baznian Nope, I sed "Gift Cards" Not Credit Cards (Bank Owned) With them, And secondly Card's Magnetic Strips don't alow people to Upload Data to the Card it holds a Number in Serise and that allow's people to Swipe there Cards and see there Account information, (To be Honest with you) To place money on one would have to be a Gift card of a Lower grade "Retail" Store in order to place Money on it and Bypass the Account information, I learned all this by Years of hacking money from Banks.

@ryanstewart86 The writer they sell is only for low coercity, it doesn't do credit cards.
