try getting twists or dread extensions, that'll let u know if you can deal with dreads or not. I don't like them on me so I just keep mine twisted kinda favors dreads but looks neater and you can always change up

Using wax builds up dirt, mildew and more crap you do NOT want :( Wash your hair with dish washer soap through hot water now to get that crap out! start twisting your dreads together at the root. they will grow thicker and when they get long enough you can cut them off where they split.

it depends on your hair type but it seems like most people wait 4 to 6 weeks to wash their hair after initially dreading it. If you wash it too soon you will wash the knots out. After you wash it, dry it out really well and then re-twist. Its going to be frizzy and some of the knots will come out. Its a normal part of the process. Your dreads will also look really crappy for a few weeks and this is also normal.
