I will not vote the way they say and well. I will bet that if they did outlaw abortion, you all would want more prisons but not want to fund them. I am VERY PRO LIFE BUT LET'S GET TO THE HEART OF THE SELFISH MATTER.
@afroschlan You made a dig about Pope Benedict XVI being in the nazi youth. It is known that enrollment into the nazi youth was compulsory and once enrolled he didn't stay in long. Ratzinger mentions himself in Milestones: Memoirs: 1927 - 1977, and that he and his brother George were both enrolled in the Hitler Youth (at a time when membership was compulsory), and discusses family life under the Third Reich in chapters 2-4 of his autobiography. He and his family were against the nazis.
@GeorgeDoyle03 You're right, he was drafted into the Nazi Youth.. hmm.. ironic that he would dislike fascism and their human rights violations whilst being responsible for countless crimes against humanity himself, through the responsibility of the cover-up of sexual abuses within the church, fueling hatred towards homosexual minority groups and talking people out of using birth control as a means to stop sexually transmitted disease.. Do you have an accurate life destruction count?
@afroschlan People who hate the Catholic church like to single it out when it comes to child molestation, while it happens in all areas of society. It's tragic that it happens anywhere, and certainly when it happens in the Catholic Church, but there are sinners in the church too. Also it's a small percentage of priests who've done that, though even one priest doing it is too many, and the church has taken real measures to fix it and protect children.
@GeorgeDoyle03 Oh has it now ;) That's nice.. So the old: "Let's not tell people we support paedophiles" method is done and over? Sure..... Yes, people are mean to the Catholics without any reason, what so ever. People just constantly beat on the religious. How dare they do such.. perhaps after years upon years of religion "laws" being set forth, prohibiting social evolution resulting in social devastation one might get somewhat pissed off at the religious and their self-righteousness..
@GeorgeDoyle03 It's just so fascinatingly ironic that the claimers of: You cannot have ethics or morals without god" cannot really have ethics or morals with god occasionally one has to remind the spiritually challenged that the crap they are spewing out constantly is not only incorrect but horribly pitiable in many ways. Picking on minority groups, ethnic cleansing, violating children and than having the audacity to declare the mastery of how to "rectify" society. Start with yourselves first.
@afroschlan So "euthnasia" means "good death". That isn't the only instance where a barbarous act has been given a nice sounding euphamism to make it more "palatable". If you believe it's ok for people to commit suicide that's your unfortunate business. But I'm talking about people who *don't* ask to be put to death but it is decided for them because they're no longer wanted.
@GeorgeDoyle03 Well, the Greeks defined euthanasia as a "good death" but it's not defined that today. Today it's defined as: "The act or practice of ending the life of an individual SUFFERING from a TERMINAL ILLNESS or an INCURABLE CONDITION, as by lethal injection or the suspension of extraordinary medical treatment." If it's not that, it's murder ;) I never said I believed in it, that's your interpretation, you're used to interpreting things right? So it fits your concept.. yes ;)
@JEANNESTARK it's one video. Go look at prime time tv-you'll see the same thing. As well as commercials, magazines, movies...I could go on. I'm white, and a huge minority in my Catholic church. Didn't you learn that media is not always a fair representation of cultural groups? And please don't judge because ONE person made a video and its primarily white. Because that would just be silly. God Bless.
George, the New York Times praised Pope Pius XII, Emile Zola, chief Rabbi of Rome converted to Catholicism and took the name Pio after him. WHY? They knew the truth, Pope Pius saved thousands of Jews from the Nazis. hiding them in Catholic institutions all over Europe and even in the Vatican itself.
@afroschlan "At the end of the war, Pius XII was hailed as "the inspired moral prophet of victory," and "enjoyed near-universal acclaim for aiding European Jews." Numerous Jewish leaders, including Albert Einstein, Israeli Prime Ministers Golda Meir and Moshe Sharett, and Chief Rabbi Isaac Herzog, expressed their public gratitude to Pius XII, praising him as a "righteous gentile," who had saved thousands of Jews during the Holocaust."
@GeorgeDoyle03 Pope Pius XII's (1876-1958) actions during the Holocaust remain controversial. For much of the war, he maintained a public front of indifference and remained silent while German atrocities were committed. He refused pleas for help on the grounds of neutrality, while making statements condemning injustices in general. Privately, he sheltered a small number of Jews and spoke to a few select officials, encouraging them to help the Jews.. So, what's your point?
@afroschlan That quote I posted about Pope Pius XII is from an article entitled, "A Righteous Gentile: Pope Pius XII and the Jews", By Rabbi David Dalin, Ph.D. Obviously Mr. Dalin is a Jew. That's the point. All these Jews aren't likely to praise a nazi, and you said Catholics are nazis. As you see these Jewish people give Pope Pius XII more credit than you do.
@afroschlan "When Pius XII first learned of the Nazi atrocities in Poland, he urged the Catholic bishops of Europe to do all they could to save the Jews and other victims of Nazi persecution. The bishops of Holland distributed a pastoral letter that was read in every Catholic Church in the country, denouncing "the unmerciful and unjust treatment meted out to Jews by those in power in our country."" -- "A Righteous Gentile: Pope Pius XII and the Jews", By Rabbi David Dalin, Ph.D.
@afroschlan You said: "For much of the war, he maintained a public front of indifference and remained silent while German atrocities were committed." But in October 1958 in front of the at the United Nations General Assembly, Golda Meir, the Prime Minister of Israel, said of Pope Pius XII at his death: ''During the 10 years of Nazi terror, when our people went through the horrors of martyrdom, the Pope raised his voice to condemn the persecutors and commiserate with their victims.''
@afroschlan Not only the Pope but others in the church spoke out. In Toulouse, France, Archbishop Jules Gerard Saliege's pastoral letter, which French police know about and demand that he withdraw, is sent to and read in all churches in his dioceses: "There is a Christian morality that confers rights and imposes duties: frightful things are taking place. The Jews are our brothers. They belong to mankind. No Christian can dare to forget that!"
@afroschlan Some of the Jewish organizations that praised Pope Pius XII at the time of his death for saving Jewish lives during the horror of the Nazi Holocaust were: The World Jewish Congress, The American Jewish Committee,
The American Jewish Congress, The Anti-Defamation League, The Central Conference of American Rabbis, The National Conference of Christians and Jews, The National Council of Jewish Women, and 3 more that don't fit in this post.
@GeorgeDoyle03 While others criticize his silence and cooperation with the Nazis back in the days.. As I said, controversial.. But could we read anything out of the history of the Catholic church and see patterns? Yes we can and they're not good. Were you indoctrinated as a child?
@afroschlan His silence and cooperation with the nazis? Prove it. Prove he cooperated with them. And don't just say, "others criticize him". Tell me*who* criticises him. What are their personal ideals and feelings for the church? And explain why Jewish leaders and others praise him for the good he did for the Jews. No, I wasn't indoctrinated as a child. I became Catholic when I was 32. Years before that I didn't like the church. I was an off-the-charts liberal. But no longer.
@afroschlan "After assuming the Chair of Peter as Pius XII in 1939, his became the world's single most important moral voice speaking against Hitler and his murderous regime." -- (The Record of Pius XII's Opposition to Hitler
by Inside the Vatican Staff). So we see not only from Catholic sources, but Jewish also, Pope Pius is recognized as having been very involved in helping Jews during the holocaust.
@GeorgeDoyle03 No pope is a moral voice, sorry. Religion does not bring forth correct definition of socially defined morality but instead it distorts it, mutilating the current definitions and replacing them with violent, inhuman notions from the bible and self-proclaimed notions from the vatican itself, such as we can see even today with Pope, minister of paedophiles, Benedict XVI ;) Many people helped many people in WW2, point is the vatican could and should have done more but they didn't.
@afroschlan You say "Many people helped many people in WW2, point is the vatican could and should have done more but they didn't." History shows that for example, the U.S. and British governments turned down numerous proposals to accept European Jews. Yet Pope Pius XII went to great effort, to help the Jews when others would not. It's easy for you to say the Vatican should have done more, but more was done by the Catholic church when others wouldn't help.
@GeorgeDoyle03 More was done than.. what? The catholic church did more than who? Did they do all they could? Did they perhaps do it for financial gain or political gain or public appearance gain. Large secretive organizations, out to make a shit load of money and to govern public policy within the regions they pollute with their horrible immorality, are rarely out there to do just good. Doing good comes with the P.R. movement, to make their disgusting deeds seem nice and valid.
@afroschlan You said religion brings forth distorted definitions of morality. It isn't the Catholic Church that condones euthanasia and forced steralizaiton for example, and other things that de-value the human person. Yet some govts. who defy the church have practiced these things on their citizenz. The church speaks out against these things which does make the Pope a moral voice. There have been corrupt Popes, but many more good ones who are a moral voice when they live up to their calling.
@afroschlan Violent and inhumane? Try euthanasia as I mentioned before. Forced steralization of those considered "undesirable", abortion, and infanticide of babies outside the womb as well as still int he womb, to name a few atrocities. It isn't the church that does these things, rather secular minded societies who defy the church. And it's wrong to call Pope Benedict XVI a "minister of paedophiles". He is not. He is correcting wrongs that have been done.
@afroschlan Attacks on homosexuals?! Only because the Catholic Church don't accept the marriage for them?! Marriage is not a right. You are totally wrong! By the way the Pope is not God and with your comment tou show us all your ignorance and hate.
"Give Caesar's what is Caesar's, but never give him what is God's."- from an online essay I read that was really good. Man, I hate hate comments on good videos like these. <__< Or have arguments on them.
It appears, no matter how much sugar you sprinkle on a nugget of shit it never becomes anything more than shit. I wonder why people aren't more alarmed that Catholics are waking up.. the last time that happened the entire world erupted into a war known as World War 2.. Good times..
@jerrysmith29 He who replies by quoting an alleged religious symbol or doctrine has no mind of his own nor has any clue what the definition of truth is. "Me"
@afroschlan What?? How did Catholics start WW2 exactly?? I thought it had to do with German National Socialism and Race purification-- but I guess every book I've read on the matter was wrong..lol
@valar83 Well, they invaded Poland ;) But I guess that's not the answer you're looking for. Catholic nation, backed by the Vatican in it's efforts to take over the world, along with killing some Jews (Not that that has any religious purpose [sarcasm]).. Might I suggest Mein Kampf by the infamous author Mr. Adolf Hitler himself.. fascinating read, more scary than fascinating though. Oddly enough the pope recently tried to blame atheists for that ;) Hilarious stuff..
@afroschlan Nonsense pure and simple. Take over some nations?! Adolf Hitler was not a christian he didn't like christians! He used Christianity only ot gain power!
@SuperFra85 You can chant that as much as you want. Mein kampf states that he was a catholic (written with a lower case because that's just the way it should be), ruling a catholic country, backed up by the largest ruler of Catholicism, the Vatican.. Coincidence? Probably ;) You people love coincidences ;) Also, inhuman behavior, self justification through stupidity, immorally picking on minority groups, forcing their ideology upon others.. come on, that's Catholicism in a nutshell ;)
@afroschlan You do know that Catholic priests were put into concentration camps, right? Just sayin. Also...you should prooobably do a little more research on your points...like the part where Catholic Social Services provides help for anyone of any (or no) denomination...And if you ever do go to church, I promise you won't hear any teachings on hate. :) I'll pray for you. :) God Bless. :)
@yavin99 The term Zealot, in Hebrew kanai , means one who is zealous on behalf of God We wish every Catholic live as they preach and those who really follow Jesus are proud to be fanatical , some people don't admit that when they not follow Jesus they follow their own false god ( sex, money, job, etc)
@jerrysmith29 Compared to your incoherent gibberish, I have a PhD in English, I am the king of the English language.. thus for I don't have to talk to your imaginary angels and saints, preferably because they don't exist outside of the tiny brains of Catholics.
@jerrysmith29 ..yes, sadly I understood your moronic unfounded claim regarding your imaginary enemy.. the one created by your imaginary friend to, allegedly, torture his subjects for some sick immoral reason. Your imaginary friend seems kind of like a piece of shit. He's horribly amoral, borders on insanity, vindictive, unhelpful, unintelligent and so forth.. He almost comes off as a human being, with very low standards.
@jerrysmith29 That was a cute "abortion" limerick, where did you obtain it?
I love it when people recite biblical scriptures, it reminds me when in the presence of a "lord of the rings" or "star wars" extreme-fan and he/she recites something from the movie with extreme enthusiasm.. it's almost euphoric how much they desire the illusion. The nugget of scripture you brought forth is somewhat educational, depending on the reader. You are really deticated to this fantasy world aren't you?
@jerrysmith29 Reading of your book of "duh" is only going to make you seem even dumber in the long run ;) But hey, if that's the aim than please go on ;)
@afroschlan I've read all of your accusations and I've answered most of them. The Catholic Church does not support paedophiles and is dealing seriously with the scandal that has happened. The Church teaches that homosexual behavior is wrong, but we don't hate them. The Church teaches birth control is evil, and people use it anyway, and still get pregnant and contract STDS even when they use it.
@GeorgeDoyle03 Anyone can answer anything anyway he/she wants, it's the coherent accurate answers that are valued. The catholic church has been fucking around with children for a very very long time, besides the whole indoctrination theme. They have no reasonable explanation to why they argue against homosexuality except for, what seems like, religious hatred. It is wrong regarding birth-control, it's not all just one thing ;) But than again, it is fundamentally built on being wrong so..

Wait? Is that from the same book of "ethics" you're citing from? Wow.. Really? We should kill people, that doesn't seem right? That seems illegal and immoral. This is the book your derive your ethics and moral from.. dude?
Genesis 17:10-14 "...And he that is eight days old shall be circumcisedamong you...".. What? Molesting children..

@jerrysmith29 So what's the Hebrew term for a person who has difficulties constructing coherent stacks of sentences?

@afroschlan
maybe you can speak English perfectly but I do think you will speak the language of the angels and saints until you give up your arrogance
jerrysmith29 1 year ago
@jerrysmith29 Compared to your incoherent gibberish, I have a PhD in English, I am the king of the English language.. thus for I don't have to talk to your imaginary angels and saints, preferably because they don't exist outside of the tiny brains of Catholics.

@afroschlan I'll bet you that you understood perfectly when I said that the trinity of the devil are homosexuality, sexual lust and abortion
jerrysmith29 1 year ago

This is the book your derive your ethics and moral from.. dude?

@parrotchai my Agenda or God Agenda? No Other Gospel As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!
Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1
