  • The Denver HAM's are a great group of folks.

    Thanks for posting the video!

  • I listen in with my Sat 800 all the time in the southern NY area

  • If I was just listening to the net to see if I want to get involved I would appreciate all the Freq's and info hes talking about! It seems like you dont care about that stuff, but I would want to know alternate Freq's and what repeaters are around, and where to get auto patch. I think control is doing a good job! 73's Joe

  • that net controller sure talks too much, but i see you were starting to get impatient, don't blame ya, i would be getting impatient too. its like, just get to checkins already!

  • LOL.. Bill Know how you feel on the LONG rag chews and long introductions. It just take patience to know when to key up !! Enjoy the hobby. Keepup the hobby !! 73... KC5PEV

  • i was born in aurora!!! now live in missouri and soon to be amateur operator

  • What is the make and model of that receiver in the background??

  • That receiver in the background is a Grundig Satellit 800 general coverage communication receiver. It is suppose to be a 'portable', but it is kind of large for a carry around portable radio! The circuitry of that radio is designed after the Drake SW8 receiver that came out a few years ago.

  • Saludos desde MVD Uruguay Nelson operador de la CX1BAD en 145.670 Mhz muy buen video muchos exitos.

  • how did you know when to transmit so you don't key up with someone?

  • It must take along awhile in there traffics.

    Before check in net.

Check me in from AG4NK of Talladega,Ala.

  • im a newbie to this, but i have been collecting equiptment and hopefully soon ill be doing the sanme as you guys. so far i have bought a astron 20-a to power a 80w amp made from KLF(80w VHF power ampilfier) i know i got a longway to go. but im working on it.

  • Good video! One of my favorite things to do at night is pick up on this kind of activity. I restore old tube sets, such as the Hallicrafters boat-anchors. Though they don't perform nearly as well as these new digital sets, they are just fun to use. Thanks for this.

  • The Internet and Cell Phones took the thrill

out of amateur radio, except 75M -WS0H

  • Sounds like amateur radio is a bit more popular and interesting in Denver than it is here in Houston.

  • You sound exausted guy. Speak with more enthusiasm... K7AGE does good intros to stuff.

  • Yea, I was really tired and groggy that Sunday morning! I was kind of conducting a test with my Sony DSC-H2 still camera in MPEG video mode and thought I would post it up here to Youtube just for the heck of it.

  • Hi Bill, I enjoyed watching your video Bill. There's not many people out there that could make a video about such a mundane subject as checking into a local repeater net, and making it funny.

You should have being in the movies Bill!!

  • i like your faces they make me laugh, but yeah thats must be a fun thing to do what you do cus ive always wanted a ham radio and im going to high school so mabey after a while ill get my license, oh well talk later, nice vid

  • It's just 15 bucks!

  • This video is amazing. If you had set out to make an avante garde theater piece, it couldn't have been more surreal.

    Excellent--thanks for the demonstration.

  • Hi,

can you tell me the appoximate range of a 50 watt 2m and 70 cm Ham radio. Without repeaters . Planing on installing one in my truck/mobile antennae.

I'm moving up from 11m ssb use , and looking for a more releyable communication mode.

The scenery consists mostly of rolling hills(~150 feet) and deep forrest.

    Thanks,

    Erik

  • Just like checking into a Local Net Here.. however we have an 1/8 or less of your Checkin's.. Will give you a call next time I am in the area.. my 'Big Sis' lives in Longmont! 73 de VE6CPP

  • Bill Wolverton reminds me of that actor from "I, Claudius" - George Jacobi LOL! All Billy needs now is a TOGA and leafy crown!

  • FYI- that actor's name is Derek Jacobi. Not George.

  • very nice video 73s and best dx from YO3BR edy bucharest romania

  • this video is not a waste of time

  • Bill,

I don't see the point of this video. The waste of time the net control is producing is self servicing to say the least.

  • Maybe you're just a dork and dont need to see the point. Is this Possible?

  • Keep making videos. Randy

  • Thanks for sharing. 73 de SV2EVS
