If he'd just said girlfriend or wife, then he would have been 'presupposing' it, as you put it. He had every right to not assume a sexual orientation given MJ's history. @Darslow I don't think it was as malicious as you're making out. He did originally say partner and then go on the explain what he meant by that. If someone asked me about if I had a partner, I wouldn't assume that they are trying to insinuate that I'm gay. It was only when they started to take offence to it that he started poking them a bit, but that's just good interviewing technique. Also particularly when Joe Jackson had abused the previous interview in order promote his new acts.

Actually, Michael's employees including his longtime chauffeurs, among others, have stated vehemently that Michael Jackson was not gay, nor was he a pedophile. These statements were made after his death. In fact, the two drivers went on to say that it was not uncommon for Michael and the female friend he happened to be with to start making out in the back of the limo.

I didn't like the questions. As for the gay remarks, the man doesn't approve of gay relationships. There are many people who feel uncomfortable about it . People are entitled to an opinion. As for the reporter, you have to admit his questions were out of line. As a parent, I would be offended too. He has a right to be angry. Theroux is a great interviewer, he brings out the truth and reality of people by just letting them trip themselves up. Such a simple but effective technique, and he does it all with zero malice.

Actually, Michael's employees including his longtime chauffeurs, among others, have stated vehemently that Michael Jackson was not gay, nor was he a pedophile. These statements were made after his death. In fact, the two drivers went on to say that it was not uncommon for Michael and the female friend he happened to be with to start making out in the back of the limo.

I didn't like the questions. As for the gay remarks, the man doesn't approve of gay relationships. There are many people who feel uncomfortable about it . People are entitled to an opinion. As for the reporter, you have to admit his questions were out of line. As a parent, I would be offended too. He has a right to be angry. I think Joe is just fed up with all the negativity surrounding his son. He is not the most perfect father but he is still defending his son and I'm glad he did.

I truly think that the guy doing the interview was not calling Michael gay. He was merely asking joe if he would prefer Michael to have a partner. I can understand where Joe might have got a little defensive. Joe did not score here. I heard in his voice that he really didn't care what Michael did. That is sad.
