All I can say is WOW. My jaw doesn't job a single time I don't listen to this brother. And at the end he says he has listened to the Anwar Al Awlaki series on the hereafter. MashaAllah, my two favorite speakers, and one has listened to the other. I have listened to all of his lectures.
This is one of -the- best talks on Islam I have ever watched. Br. Nouman has a wonderful knack for elucidating this deen, for removing doubt and confusion and replacing them with certainty. Masha'Allah.
JAZAK ALLAH....BROTHER....very veryyyy beautifullll sayingzzz,......this is fantastic MashALLAH...thank you for the informative video....Allah will give u Ajar for this inshAllah
I find this individual's views to be rather bizarre. Shouldn't an idea be strengthened under scrutiny (if it is true, of course)? Shouldn't questions be encouraged? I don't get it. Wouldn't Allah want his laws to be questioned, so people can be at peace following them; rather than having inner turmoil at a misunderstanding of something as counter-intuitive as sentencing people to eternity for finite offenses.
@TheMongol1206 Nouman pretty much explained it, Well, Islam means submitting your will to Allah. Thus, Muslims acknowledge that Allah is All-knowing and watever He forbids He must have a reason to do so. Questioning WHY something is forbidden is not wrong when you are intending to gain wisdom behind it. It is actually encouraged. But in the end, as a human we might get the wisdom or we might not. But problems arise when the attitude is more towards questioning (as in doubting) Islam and Allah.
MashaAllah wa tabarak Allah!! May Allah reward him.
I have never really looked at this topic so deeply. What he says makes perfect and simple sense. May Allah protect me from falling into the wrong category of questions. Ameen
And i like the way he answers the questions, straight talking without being judgemental. Al Hamdulillah.
look up the word vain if you fail to understand the concept being explained in mathew. first of all its making an example of the hypocrite pharisees not people who sincerely worship GOD
This is the reason why some of the scholars frown upon the concept of maqasid, because there is no way we as Muslims can know the reason/wisdom behind legislation etc.
very good lecture mashAllah! This brother has a fantastic way of explaining things and spreading knowledege about Islam alhamdulillah. He is very easy to understand alhamdulillah. May Allah (swt) admit him to Jannah Ameen. I also though his line, "that's the cops" was so funny! HAHAHA
u know hes right about when he says that people who are healthy they think that ALLAK loves thim.but in QUR-RAN ALLAH says that those who dont bealive will give thim everything and that day they say i'm happy then we take them
nouman everytime someone questioned the prophet about having sex with 6year old,or beheading men in front of there wives and daughters,he would then say allah said "oh do not question muhammad, its not allowed",every single time this happens,if someone says sth or does sth bad against muhammad he then comes up with another "word or words of god or the angels, your very clever nouman, why cant you see muhammads promises are everything his followers did not have and wanted,boys,girls,water,fruit..
there are tears in my eyes after watching this video and another video from brother Noman and i am not sure what part exactly made me cry or maybe even why i am crying but i just want to say SUBHANALLAH!
Asalaamualikum, I was thinking the same thing. I really hope Allah gives him heaven because I'm having so many aha moments here. Its like my furstrations are coming undone as I'm listening. May Allah reward all the muslimeen that are working hard towards the deen and grant us victory over the disbelievers.
this brother is very very wise mashallah jazakallah khair for this video pls upload more about the judgment day inshallah, salaam ALLAH HAFIZ "The hate that I feel in my heart is real, But these are feelings that I don't want to feel. Please Allah help me to be strong, As I know feeling like this is wrong. You know the pain and anger that I feel in my heart, Please take it away, make it depart. I want to feel alive, I want to feel free, I want to be the best Muslim that I can be." nice poem:)
i'm sure you had some sort of a thought in your head but it fell apart on its way to the comments section...let me know when you start making sense again...
completely irrelevant...we weren't even talking about the origin of man, we were talking about behavior and whether or not our behavior is primitive. when i say ape, i mean the more primitive animals like bonobos and chimpanzees. if you are arguing the "progress" of your behavior by comparing to the more primitive bonobos....good job.
question: if in science saying God did it gets you nowhere. Why when any scientist is asked how did the universe orginate they say a "Big Bang" and when asked where that came from they say a "Supreme Being". If you dont say that, what do you consider the origin of the "Big Bang" the existence of God is obvious to any rational person.
And you believe the seven layers of the earth with there important jobs, the inhabitable land we live on, the wildlife and there specific and nurturing eco zones, the stars the sky the ever expanding universe, the way the sun and the moon act in sequence with the earth, the food we eat, the way we sleep our brains are senses our RATIONAL THOUGHT are all a product of chance. You look at a clock and see intelligent design and a purpose, but not your self. I say you think a clock is worth more

But however it should also be noted that sometimes we will understand more about these from other person, from certain works......because they also preached the message of God - the right ones will say to us, let us go back to Quran and sunnah.....
when it is so obvious that they did not comply with islamic teachings, then by all means - fight them.
you may read western science books but your no scientist, you could never be, in science evidence comes first then the theory, you think if you hold an opinion strongly enough it becomes true.
uncivilized, barbaric, ape-like disinhibition of sexual impulses, it is muslim countrys who want to dress woman in black from head to toe, in case a muslim man see's some bare flesh and loses his self control and rapes her, no islamic court would blame him, how dare she tempt him like that.
"you may read western science books but your no scientist, you could never be, in science evidence comes first then the theory, you think if you hold an opinion strongly enough it becomes true."
what on earth are you talking about and how does it pertain to the second half of your comment? you keep jumping between subjective emotions and science. i think you might be talking about a statistic mentioned in a review book for medicine, in which case i'm sorry the stats are shattering your bubble.
yea it is muslim countries that cover up their women, so they don't end up like you! lol...?? what were you trying to prove? that because you don't do that you aren't a bunch of apes who want to legalize women selling their bodies?
"no islamic court would blame him, how dare she tempt him like that. "
so do you just make things up, like thats what you do? if he rapes her, and hes married...he gets death and she gets punished for breaking a law designed to keep us from turning into western apes
HIV and syphilis are diseases like any other, having sex with virgins or men is legal, sex with a prostiute should and will be legal, adultery and divorce legal,
how many children develop antisocial personality disorders and become rapists and gangbangers, i don't have the numbers but i would say very few.
"i dont have the numbers, but i would say very few."...if only...i'm actually in med school, taking the exam soon, the book i'm reading now is KAPLAN USMLE behavioral sciences.
HIV and syphilis are diseases that spread the most easily in a society that behaves like animals. and HIV is not like other diseases.
so you think the fact that your society legalizes uncivilized, barbaric, ape-like disinhibition of sexual impulses is an argument for it being civilized?its funny, this subjectivism thing
so you admit to using an openly biased source. does that not seem off to you? if you really wanted to know the correct interpretations, wouldn't you at least want to study the interpretations of someone who respects the literature enough to incorporate scholarly understanding of classical arabic in their interpretations?
muslimways. c o m /library/non-muslims/the-qur-an-modern-science/moonlight-is-reflected-light.html
i provided a website that will demonstrate some of the subtle, intricately worded details in the qur'an that hold significant meaning when reflected on.
the number isn't in the qur'an, but the analogy is to virgins...and fruit...and gardens....
how many women do men from your civilized society sleep with before their wife, if they ever marry? is it virgins or prostitutes? or maybe other men?do they have HIV or syphilis? how many men commit adultery in your civilized society? how many broken marriages after that? how many children develop antisocial personality disorders and become rapists and gangbangers from those broken families?
his behaviour for a start, the robbing, the killing, the cutting off of hands and feet, the stoning etc. but most modern muslims don't do these things and agree that they are wrong.
your book says earth was created first , then the heavens, wrong, the moon was given its own light, wrong. and the setting place of the sun is not a muddy pool.
cutting off of hands and feet and stoning are wrong? which muslim would say that these things are wrong? killing in warfare is not the same as murder or in the name of justice obviously, nations all over the world including america are involved in these things. you would have to provide references for what you are saying because, for example, the qur'an says the moon gives off reflected light (not its own). its clear you are misinformed.
cutting off of hands and feet and stoning are wrong? which muslim would say that these things are wrong? ok civilized people would agree that its wrong.
wait wait...if you are going to make arguments against my way of life, you have to make up your mind. are you proposing objective science that says it is wrong or just your gut feelings from your own way of life. do you have scientific data saying your society is more "civilized"? what is the criteria of measuring how "civilized" a nation is?
like i said...you are just a radical, extremist pushing your way of life based on emotions and gut feelings that are subjective
i think with my head not my gut, the more modern and secular the more civilized, we have a system of law, no death penalty, equal rights for woman, etc, what do you want the primative sharia law?
oh you think with your head...yet you haven't given me objective criteria for measuring "civilized." all you've given me is words like "primitive" and "modern."
so i'm guessing your new system of law has eliminated crime rite? has it helped the humanity with things like poverty...because sharia law prohibits interest and enforces zakat (a tax used in charity) which allows a redistribution of wealth to the poor.
maybe there is no objective criteria for measuring civilized, but our system with its secular equal rights is more civilized, using any criteria (where civilized means improve the bahaviour of)
its against the law to kill someone for writing a book in a civilized country.
no, there is objective criteria...its how much of a mess your society is, and your society is a damn mess.
improvements in behavior? lol...wait, is your society the one where people become obscenely rich and then are given even more money as a "bail out" when they destroy people's lives? or is it the one where people are sent to war with no clear objective where they kill women and children? oh no, its the one where 60% of men cheat on their wives...
you worry about your own society , and we will worry about ours, bill gates is rich and rightly so,you have a point with the bailout and the iraq war but infighting between muslim groups killed far more woman and children, unicef vaccinated over ten million children against measles in afghanistan would the taliban do that?.
you are the one pointing fingers at our society. one we don't even have yet because you won't let it, probably because you're afraid it'll trump urs. you think the taliban is part of our society? they would be put to death in our society for some of the things they've done.OUR society hasn't existed for hundreds of years and it currently only exists in the Qur'an and in the minds of believers. if anything the taliban is a product of your society and its struggles with the soviets in afghanistan.
as a matter of fact if anyone really sat there and thought about it and analyzed history and imperialism and colonialism and the shifting of powers. i'm pretty confidence that most of teh worlds problems are either a product of or perpetuated by your "civilized" society and all its "progress" through the ages.
we'll see how "civilized" your society is when the average age of marriage and starting families for women is around 35 years if ever. i mean, women are only worthy if they are as much like men as possible because being a man is better than being a woman, rite? lets hope a bunch of kids with down syndrome can prop up a "civilized" society.
you agree to what? that you must suspend your emotional inclinations to the way of life you were born into to use your reason as objectively as possible? because if not, there is no point continuing this.
bilboinc.. all those things you just said are ignorant because you don't know anything about the qur'an or it's translation... and the muddy pool one is because you don't know the exact wording in the arabic.. go home and study up
what spel17 is implying is that it does make perfect sense in classical arabic because it is not saying what you think it is. if you can't see the relevance in understanding the classical arabic language, then you are hopelessly lost in emotions and the need to be right and you shouldn't think of yourself as a reasonable or of any intellectual significance. denying that makes you a die-hard, fanatic, fundamentalist, radical, intellectually stagnant believer in your own way of life.
all muslims who do not speak arabic are, with respect to interpretation of the qur'an, people who can never push an interpretation with any authority and can only humbly suggest the interpretation of someone learned in classical arabic.
The essential argument is to say that we have to accept hearsay evidence. Reports of someone performing miracles are not the same as seeing them for oneself.
Would this lecturer permit questioning L. Ron Hubbard? Of course he would. He just wants to shield his preferred version of the ... whatever it is. I hesitate to use the word "truth."
I question whether or not Joseph Smith communicated with the angel Moroni. I'll bet this person would agree that's correct, but he won't extent the logic.
you do realize this lecture is aimed at people who have already accepted the prophethood of this man muhammad (peace be upon him). there is absolutely no presentation of any arguments in this video that are meant to convince anyone of this persons prophethood. this is the reason he tells us (the people who have accepted) that we must direct questioning back to whether or not the qur'an is God's word...and from there he tells us to tell the questioner "let's talk."
that we must direct questioning back to whether or not the qur'an is God's word, but you already said this lecture is aimed at people who have already accepted the prophethood of this man, its a rather confused message.
is it? ok let me break it down again...this lecture is telling people who have already believed that when people go off on tangents and ask other questions...you bring them back to the central question. THIS LECTURE DOES NOT GO INTO THE ANSWER FOR THAT QUESTION as it is another topic and meant for a different audience (ppl that haven't believed yet or that are trying to convince those who haven't believed).
the miracle of islam used as evidence of its position is not something that was observed generations ago and left to hearsay. the main miracle of islam is the qur'an itself which is meant to be an intellectual/linguistic miracle. one that is preserved and observable for all following generations.
well linguistics is concerned with the arabic language and the use of words and phrases with powerful yet subtle and utterly significant meanings. the intellectual challenges to society are, for example, concerned with offering the argument of the qur'ans unique impact or the solutions it proposes to problems societies are still struggling with inspite of their "progress."
ok...and? is that it? are you trying to say that we don't come up with these things before hand? is the qur'an a book of science? does it even pretend to provide detailed explanations of the mechanisms that make this world work? no. the qur'an is concerned with a way of life that is more civilized than the way of life you subscribe to. it makes references in passing that when reflected on after scientific discovery (much of which is islamic and not western) are interesting to say the least.
you'll find its as clever as it sounds, but only if you are able to suspend your emotional inclinations to view the world through the lens of your own way of life.
THIS IS THE STORY OF MANS REDEMPTION: God created mankind making us children of God, mankind becomes disobedientand gets into Gods bad books and becomes subject to judgment and death,MAN SINS MAN DIES, how can mankind escape this death, God has no desire for mankind to die so he sends a substatute to die the death that mankind should experience, God says anyone that accepts this substatute tfor death to be his savior will receive eternal life, this substatute is JESUS CHRIST,
Is it okay to say: In islam GOD commands us to cover our selves etc.. to not be judged by how we look but be judged by how we are..? (something like this) or should we just say Because GOD said so and just leave it.. ? (Seriously asking) =)
Everyone has the potential to fullfill these roles and responsibilities and it will take a Great Sorting out into Groups Sorted out, (Surah 99).
Raising everyones Station and giving us the tools and skills to meet the challenges in being a good person, a good family, community, nation and world.

how many women do men from your civilized society sleep with before their wife, if they ever marry? is it virgins or prostitutes? or maybe other men?do they have HIV or syphilis? how many men commit adultery in your civilized society? how many broken marriages after that? how many children develop antisocial personality disorders and become rapists and gangbangers from those broken families?
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
what about the things your prophet got wrong in the koran. did gabriel say it wrong, or did your prophet hear it wrong.
bilboinc 2 years ago
like what?
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
his behaviour for a start, the robbing, the killing, the cutting off of hands and feet, the stoning etc. but most modern muslims don't do these things and agree that they are wrong.
your book says earth was created first , then the heavens, wrong, the moon was given its own light, wrong. and the setting place of the sun is not a muddy pool.
bilboinc 2 years ago
cutting off of hands and feet and stoning are wrong? which muslim would say that these things are wrong? killing in warfare is not the same as murder or in the name of justice obviously, nations all over the world including america are involved in these things. you would have to provide references for what you are saying because, for example, the qur'an says the moon gives off reflected light (not its own). its clear you are misinformed.
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
cutting off of hands and feet and stoning are wrong? which muslim would say that these things are wrong? ok civilized people would agree that its wrong.
bilboinc 2 years ago
wait wait...if you are going to make arguments against my way of life, you have to make up your mind. are you proposing objective science that says it is wrong or just your gut feelings from your own way of life. do you have scientific data saying your society is more "civilized"? what is the criteria of measuring how "civilized" a nation is?
like i said...you are just a radical, extremist pushing your way of life based on emotions and gut feelings that are subjective
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
i think with my head not my gut, the more modern and secular the more civilized, we have a system of law, no death penalty, equal rights for woman, etc, what do you want the primative sharia law?
bilboinc 2 years ago
oh you think with your head...yet you haven't given me objective criteria for measuring "civilized." all you've given me is words like "primitive" and "modern."
so i'm guessing your new system of law has eliminated crime rite? has it helped the humanity with things like poverty...because sharia law prohibits interest and enforces zakat (a tax used in charity) which allows a redistribution of wealth to the poor.
i dunno, but all i hear is gut feelings...
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
maybe there is no objective criteria for measuring civilized, but our system with its secular equal rights is more civilized, using any criteria (where civilized means improve the bahaviour of)
its against the law to kill someone for writing a book in a civilized country.
bilboinc 2 years ago
no, there is objective criteria...its how much of a mess your society is, and your society is a damn mess.
improvements in behavior? lol...wait, is your society the one where people become obscenely rich and then are given even more money as a "bail out" when they destroy people's lives? or is it the one where people are sent to war with no clear objective where they kill women and children? oh no, its the one where 60% of men cheat on their wives...
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago 2
you worry about your own society , and we will worry about ours, bill gates is rich and rightly so,you have a point with the bailout and the iraq war but infighting between muslim groups killed far more woman and children, unicef vaccinated over ten million children against measles in afghanistan would the taliban do that?.
bilboinc 2 years ago
you are the one pointing fingers at our society. one we don't even have yet because you won't let it, probably because you're afraid it'll trump urs. you think the taliban is part of our society? they would be put to death in our society for some of the things they've done.OUR society hasn't existed for hundreds of years and it currently only exists in the Qur'an and in the minds of believers. if anything the taliban is a product of your society and its struggles with the soviets in afghanistan.
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
as a matter of fact if anyone really sat there and thought about it and analyzed history and imperialism and colonialism and the shifting of powers. i'm pretty confidence that most of teh worlds problems are either a product of or perpetuated by your "civilized" society and all its "progress" through the ages.
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
we'll see how "civilized" your society is when the average age of marriage and starting families for women is around 35 years if ever. i mean, women are only worthy if they are as much like men as possible because being a man is better than being a woman, rite? lets hope a bunch of kids with down syndrome can prop up a "civilized" society.
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
who takes care of kids and ensures the psychological well being of the next generation anyways? everyone knows people of value are in the office...
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
i meant killing in warfare and inthe name of justice are not the same as murder
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
yes i agree
bilboinc 2 years ago
you agree to what? that you must suspend your emotional inclinations to the way of life you were born into to use your reason as objectively as possible? because if not, there is no point continuing this.
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
bilboinc.. all those things you just said are ignorant because you don't know anything about the qur'an or it's translation... and the muddy pool one is because you don't know the exact wording in the arabic.. go home and study up
spel17 2 years ago
the old arabic bulls%#t, its make perfect sense in arabic right?
bilboinc 2 years ago
what spel17 is implying is that it does make perfect sense in classical arabic because it is not saying what you think it is. if you can't see the relevance in understanding the classical arabic language, then you are hopelessly lost in emotions and the need to be right and you shouldn't think of yourself as a reasonable or of any intellectual significance. denying that makes you a die-hard, fanatic, fundamentalist, radical, intellectually stagnant believer in your own way of life.
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
and all the muslims who do not speak arabic are what?
bilboinc 2 years ago
all muslims who do not speak arabic are, with respect to interpretation of the qur'an, people who can never push an interpretation with any authority and can only humbly suggest the interpretation of someone learned in classical arabic.

Subhanallah! I enjoyed every moment of this! This brother is so knowledgeable and yet he looks so young!

I'll bet this person would agree that's correct, but he won't extent the logic.
kruddykuffar 2 years ago
you do realize this lecture is aimed at people who have already accepted the prophethood of this man muhammad (peace be upon him). there is absolutely no presentation of any arguments in this video that are meant to convince anyone of this persons prophethood. this is the reason he tells us (the people who have accepted) that we must direct questioning back to whether or not the qur'an is God's word...and from there he tells us to tell the questioner "let's talk."
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago 2
that we must direct questioning back to whether or not the qur'an is God's word, but you already said this lecture is aimed at people who have already accepted the prophethood of this man, its a rather confused message.
bilboinc 2 years ago
is it? ok let me break it down again...this lecture is telling people who have already believed that when people go off on tangents and ask other questions...you bring them back to the central question. THIS LECTURE DOES NOT GO INTO THE ANSWER FOR THAT QUESTION as it is another topic and meant for a different audience (ppl that haven't believed yet or that are trying to convince those who haven't believed).
do you get it now?
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago 2
calm down, you must suspend your emotional inclinations.
bilboinc 2 years ago
ooh...got me...i like how you used what i said...drove your point home...what was your point again?
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
the miracle of islam used as evidence of its position is not something that was observed generations ago and left to hearsay. the main miracle of islam is the qur'an itself which is meant to be an intellectual/linguistic miracle. one that is preserved and observable for all following generations.
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
what is miraculous about the koran?
bilboinc 2 years ago
thats a long conversation about arabic linguistics and intellectual challenges to society
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
linguistics and intellectual challenges to society, sounds clever but what does it mean?
bilboinc 2 years ago
well linguistics is concerned with the arabic language and the use of words and phrases with powerful yet subtle and utterly significant meanings. the intellectual challenges to society are, for example, concerned with offering the argument of the qur'ans unique impact or the solutions it proposes to problems societies are still struggling with inspite of their "progress."
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
when western scientists discover something new , you guys run to your koran to see if it was already there.
bilboinc 2 years ago
ok...and? is that it? are you trying to say that we don't come up with these things before hand? is the qur'an a book of science? does it even pretend to provide detailed explanations of the mechanisms that make this world work? no. the qur'an is concerned with a way of life that is more civilized than the way of life you subscribe to. it makes references in passing that when reflected on after scientific discovery (much of which is islamic and not western) are interesting to say the least.
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
your book seems to get less impressive the more you explain it.
bilboinc 2 years ago
i haven't even said anything about it. you seem to be trying very hard to seem clever...
justforwatchingcraps 2 years ago
you'll find its as clever as it sounds, but only if you are able to suspend your emotional inclinations to view the world through the lens of your own way of life.

DonTDenYSharia5 2 years ago 4
it's totally ok to use logic, and common sense in explaining Islam, but we can't apply logic and common sense to everything in Islam.
a lot of knowledge is hidden from us, and we should always trust Allah who is all-knowing, all-wise.
