Guitar Hero wins in my opinion hands down, i mean sure, RB has a shiz load more DLC of really good songs, but what good do all those great songs do if they are so frustrating to play due to RB's poor excuse for a calibrations system and those irritating rectangles they call gems. At least in guitar hero i new the HOPO's form the strumming gems. Also the four lane drums in RB cant hold a candle to GH's 5 lanes, far more realistic. RIP GH i hope one day u will return

Guitar Hero > Rock band... as you can see rock band is a rip-off from guitar hero as it has almost the same idea with a few modifications... also the release date of guitar hero 1 was in 2005, while rock band 1 was released in 2007 (it's just an answer of EA against Activision).

After the release of Guitar Hero Aerosmith in 2008, EA released Rock Band The Beatles in 2009 to combat GH ... but each one has his/her own opinion about these games and i respect it.

guitar hero i always found way better. i would be saying rockband right now if it wasnt little rectangles you have hit instead of circles. and if the guitar controller for rockband was better too. so what if it looks good, it effects the way you play at least for me and really pisses me off since it sucks. its a damn good game but those fucking rectangle buttons and notes. i cant play it very well unless i use a guitar hero controller.

Rock Band is better by a nylon. Guitar Hero 5 muted the word "kill" in 2 Minutes To Midnight. Just remember that Harmonix made the first 3 guitar hero games; Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 2 and Guitar Hero Rocks The 80's before selling it to Neversoft and the only good game by them was Guitar Hero 3.

Technically, Konami made the first game in Japan with Guitar Freaks. This inspired some of the people at Harmonix, who were vacationing in Japan, to make the first Guitar Hero. Then, when Activision stole Red Octane from them, Harmonix fought back by releasing Rock Band. Unfortunately, Konami failed with Rock Revollution, so I can't go with them. But Rock Band is all around more fun. Better songs, better character creation, and now, Keyboards and ProMode.

Guitar Hero- Decent sized but stale soundtrack, 4 players (any combination of instruments) unorganized band mode, create your own song, easy menu transitions, and superior graphics.

Rockband- Large and epic soundtrack, up to 7 players, superior band mode, and supports creativity.

These are major factors of both games. GH's stale soundtrack enables Rockband to stand out as the superior game in my opinion. But GH Studio is definitely the best feature ever.
