It's more about working hard and knowing what you want than about being asian/russian or whatever. I'm spanish and I play piano since I was 5. I have never been pushed to it, I have never had to do it, I just happened to like it, and so I worked hard to do it.

It is true that some parents push and stress their children so much in order to get them to be musical gods, but that's not just the asians, you should come and check any european official music school.
