Kraftwork even made an electronic heavymetal song in the 60s? These type of dudes always think of shit to build or create they never relax their brain, A vacation for one of these guys would be like stranded on an island with food supply some simple tools, books to read one on how build a boat
@Tiramisator FINALLY someone gives this fuckin band the PROPS they DESERVE...if it was not for Kraftwerk do you fuckin guys think we would have Rammstein?!
@HereComesThatIndian How can you say that ? Locic would never exist without Kraftwerk. Kraftwerk builded synthesizers. They Never used a Synthesizer you can by at a shop !!!! .Also first machine speaking human words was made by Kraftwerk in early 60s...
Kraftwerk are one of the founder of electronical music.
Go for " Antenna" by Kraftwerk: That fucking self builded synthesizer in 60s rocks like shit, all new Synths try to sound like that . ( John Foxx and the math for example).
@Tiramisator You're absolutely right. I made a preemptive assumption based on one song I heard on my poor laptop speaker while I was browsing aimlessly. Now that I've actually looked into them and seen what they've done for technology and electronic music, I can't get enough of them. I wasn't aware of their history and all the incredible work they've done.
@Tiramisator Anybody could buy a minimoog or a moog modular. They did build the "tea tray" drum kit though. And used it to trigger off-the-shelf drum modules.
The synth in antenna is a patch, if they had built their own it would follow Bob Moog's 3X oscillator > mixer > amplifier > filter > output audio path. I'm not saying they weren't pioneers in what they did, because they're amazing and responsible for a lot of what dance music exists today. TL;DR - just chill a bit yeah?
@badgereaux not at all man, u r obviously good at figuring out what is going on, it would be a simple mod to do with an antennae grafted to the chip or something, the vidz on youtube r endless...the point is they actually THOUGHT to do some shit like that way back then, which makes em pioneers in my book
@Tiramisator , They used store bought synths, and had them fitted to their studio cases, and sometimes a few extra mods for CV and such. And now they use Cubase on Vaios (sadly). They were none the less quite brilliant and very alien in their time, when rock gods ruled and Bay City Rollers were on the covers of all that magazines. Absolute classic pioneers of the sounds we now hear everyday, including Wolfgang, Karl and Emil.

These are some pretty boring sounds, I must say. ---start Logic Pro. Insert loop patch. Press C3--- this song is made.

@Tiramisator Fully agree!! Some people have no respect or appreciation of bands that literally helped build music today (which now lays in ruin)
@lachlandtait Repetitive you say? Go listen to todays popcrap and see how repetitive it gets...

They never used a synthesiser you can buy in a shop? Check out 'Autobahn 1974', and you will see a MiniMoog and an ARP Odyssey:
