Yeah, bowl like YOU would, not trying to be like someone else. Everyone has their own throwing style like someone else here said. I myself am a straight bowler. I've never curved or hooked a ball, and straight is what i'll always be used to i suppose.
i always admire bowlers trying to bowl like one of the pro's...i use to mimick quite a few of them...what i found out was that we can look "ALMOST" alike. Thats becoz we are all different body structure wise. I see you tend to loose balance at the foul line quite a bit. If you can, balance at the foul line you can make better shots and even be more consistant and accurate. If you need advice on how to achive balance...just holler :) gud luck! icewolfe@hotmail.com
Your own form is just fine. A bowler told me once that I should "see who bowls like me", instead of trying to bowl like them. I think it's cool you wanted to experiment, but don't lose sight of your own game. If you watch my videos, you will see that in 95+% my hand is outside of the ball.. I am simply unable to keep it on the inside comfortably. Keep up the good work :-)
staying on the inside of the ball can be accomplished by how the ball fits on your hand. concentrate on realease with your ring finger staying completely behind the ball and you will develop staying on the inside of the ball. you dont nessasarily have to stay on the inside of the ball to be good look at parker bohn. search bowlingdigital slow mo release of him and you will see the ball comes off his hand with it completely on the side but hes extremely clean and hits boards.
i have watch a lot of bowlingdigitals videos and yes he does exactly what you said. i wasnt trying to get better by doing this. i was just experimenting with release/form.
you throw it fine dont try to do something you cant or naturaly do. bowling is all muscle memory and if you start screwing around alot and altering yourself your going to develop some bad habits.
i enjoyed reading this blurb about you. "my name is ben im in 10th grade im 16 and im goddamn good at everything i put my mind". A sophomore is a "wise fool". I pity those whom will discover failure only late in their life, when it isn’t correctable. You could maybe a prodigy, which I pity more because of the loneliness. You could just be another haughty 16 year old. Anyhow if you are fortunate enough, you will learn there is less to be right about in this world then you might think.
@lockejx1 dude your a fucking idiot nothing u said made any sense at all. the fact that u thought u were the shit when u were a kid and grew up to be fat, working for minimum wage, living in a trailer and married to a cow doesnt reflect on my life.. fat fuck grow a pair
well seeing how this was a year ago.....and i dont actually bowl like this....and this was just for fun.......yeah i guess i do suck....at bowling like tj......
@knubbe69 dude i could take on u or this guy any day of the week no problem.. just so u know i was a state finalist this year in NY HS bowling this year and i averaged 222 for the year. Im a better bowler then u could ever dream about being
Your squeezing the bowling ball with your fingers too much thats why your coming around it so much. Your releasing with your thumb way too late its almost coming out at the same time as your fingers. You want your thumb to fly out so that when you turn your hand only your fingers are left in the bowling ball giving you some side rotation with a lot of forward rotation to give you a good consistent skip in the head of the lane and a controllable hook . watch a slow motion release of the pros.
Nice bowling, but just a tip even if you don't agree with it. Tommy Jones doesn't cup his swing, the velocity of his swing is so high that he is unable/has no reason to cup it.
as a fellow lefty who is just learned how to stay more inside on the ball, after looking at ur video, it looks like you are turning ur hand too early. its all about how late u release the ball, thats why tommy and wes have the roll that they do
No offense, but that looks nothing like tommy's style at all. His armswing is at his head, and he brings his arm straight up, not behind his back. If he went behind his back, he would never throw the same shot twice.
Ok...not posting to be ignorant. But, 1st off...to bowl like tommy jones, switch hands haha. Raise your back swing to almost 90 degrees.
2nd, Cupping the ball has nothing to do with how much arm strength you have, as long as you can support the weight of your bowl. Most cases 14-16 lb. Why the hell did you mention a 100 lb weight?
cupping the ball has a lot to do with not necessarally total arm strength but wrist strength. aka how strong your forearm is. i mentioned a 100 lb weight because i was showing that you do need wrist strength to cup your wrist. try cupping a 100 lb weight and swinging it. you would need a pretty big forearm to cup a 100 lb weight.
oh and the only part of this video where im trying to bowl like tommy jones is just me keeping my hand on the inside of the ball. obviously i cant do it. lol.
yes cupping the ball helps with revs, but you don;t have to do forearm workouts to do so. it's not that hard to cup your wrist. i bowl like tommy jones and have a back swing of 90 degrees. and hook the ball more than most people dream of ever doing,
try cupping a 100lb weight. you wouldnt be able to because your forearm isnt strong enough....end of story....and i was hoping to see you and your awsome hook but you dont have any videos up. how disappointing.....
Dude! sup may i comment, you need to relax on every shot and do a continues movement you look very tight you need to relax yor muscles, and your realese to ne very soft and continuing do that and you wil repeat alot. good luck:D
Better, but you are still turning the ball a little early, try almost throwing a straight ball with you hand on the inside part of the ball through the whole swing, then once you can feel it start trying to get revs...
just saying not close you got to get the back or your swing strait your chiken winging your intire swing
