  • ah journeyman, never bothering to sub the videos

  • It's not that stimulants that are a problem. It's stupid people. Drugs are dose and duration dependent. One can't drink 20 beers a day and expect long term positive results. You can't protect stupid people from themselves.

  • Japanese invented meth...

  • @GothicWiccan13 -

    Victims..?? Who..??

  • i love how people all over the world are commenting and criticizing the way Japan treats there drug problem... how about you clean up your one mess before commenting on someone else's. the number of drug users in Japan are lower then USA Canada and the UK Australia so stop telling them to do things your way cuz its not working for you!!!

  • @Willnash666 yeah your right, we shouldnt critisize them for using MORE drugs and shock therapy on addicts..good point.

  • Comment removed

  • I find from what I know aboot Japan they are not very up front aboot their problems

  • Comment removed

  • @GothicWiccan13 -

If you legalize them, they no longer ruin lives, dumb fuck!

  • @GothicWiccan13 -

    Fuck off, GothicDickhead!

  • Drug dealers should be in death penealty row!

  • @Jefgg actually there is a reason because most of the time Chinese and other foreigners smuggle drugs.

  • FUCKING SUBS

  • "...because (enter name of country) prefers to deny that it has a (fill in name of problem) problem." How many failures are preceded by such a disclaimer?

  • @kayper54 boy, you said it buddy

  • @GothicWiccan13 -

Drugs are wrong?? Care to explain exactly why?? Keep in mind, before you go spoutin' off, that Walt Disney was a heroin addict to his dying day... therefore, it is reasonably safe to say that without heroin, there would be no Disney, Disneyland, Disney World, etc....

  • @Drumrdude1973 Oh yeah corporate shit like that is just wonderful... You just made me quit drugs.

  • @GodinSDXTguitars -

    Glad I could help...

  • @Drumrdude1973 I'm not saying drugs are wrong, but where is your evidence that Walt Disney was a heroin addict?

  • @blackiswhite1111 -

    Read his autobiography...

  • @Drumrdude1973 did you read his autobiography? Or did you just hear it somewhere and accept it as fact. I can't even find evidence on the internet that he was a heroin addict.

    What are your sources?

  • @Drumrdude1973 Did you actually read his autobiography yourself? Or did you just pull a fact out of your ass that you heard somewhere once?

  • @blackiswhite1111 -

Well... no... I didn't pull it out of my ass! Though I must admit that I too haven't had much luck substantiating that ol' Walt was a "junkee!" At this point I must admit that I cannot find any viable documention to support my initial claim that Walt Disney was indeed a heroin user....

Allow me to rephrase....... Drugs are wrong... why, exactly?

    ~M

  • @Drumrdude1973 Alright, I may have been a little harsh there, it's just that on the internet it's often difficult for people to find legitimate information when people state things they heard second hand as facts.

To answer your question, I don't think that there is anything wrong with drugs.

  • @blackiswhite1111 -

...one of the last of the Good Guys, you are.

    Cheers,

    ~M

  • @GothicWiccan you ever ask yourself how Hitler can´t kill 6 Million Jews and a view days later the war is ended sometimes I think everybody know and no one do anythink! I´m from Germany and I hate racisim! My best friend is black!

And I think if somebody wants to harm his body with drugs its his own think!

    Power to the people dude.......

  • Kokain is a hell of a drug;)

  • @GothicWiccan13 your mom smokes dried cat shit

  • That guy got amphetamines for a tooth ache...

Wouldn't that make him grind his teeth?

  • Japanese don't like to admit ANY problems that they might have whether it's financial, personal, professional, etc. It's a part of their culture and mental attitude that I don't really care for =\

  • @GothicWiccan13 Yeah i know

Marijuana smokers DO become violent to FUEL THEIR ADDICTION.

    -What about cigaret its legal.

First, I said marijuana causes hallucinogenic AFFECTS

-honestly the only thing that change when i started to smoke pot is that i realized myself that it wasnt bad.

And when i compared you to hitler you are being just like him,

You're insulting me on the way i live from YOUR life experience and you're telling me its bad because its YOUR way to think.

  • you fags i smoke weed everyday

  • @GothicWiccan13 Are not violent *

  • @GothicWiccan13 Harmfull for what exactly you cannot die from marijuana period

On marijuana you're not in a state of mind strong enough to kill ppl or jump off building

Some in extremly rare case you can do a psycho which is basicaly something in your genetic that trigger when you smoke marijuana.

and please dont say fact when your telling me pot turn you in a killer or even that it cause hallucination.

Please do not reply you dont know crap bye.

  • @QCBEC One more thing

You were talking about addiction and addiction seem to be the only thing the gouvernement seem to have left to scare us about this plant

Cigaret is like 200x harder to stop then pot

I didnt smoked since 2 day pot and im ok i didnt smoked cigaret since 1 hours and half and im starting to feel the need to getting another one

If pot would be legal they would use pot for medecin gaz oil plastic and more to extremly low price.

But if they do that big company will lose cash.

  • @GothicWiccan13 OMG this is the most ridiculous shit ive ever heard

First marijuana doesnt cause halucination you moron

Marijuana smoker isnt violent what make me violent is ignorant dumbshit like you that talk but that doesnt know crap pretty much like our gouvernement and do you honestly our gouvernement do everything he should for our good?

Oh and yeah it does hurt you when you dont know wtf it is, dont tell me your mom was a bad mother because she was smoking pot

  • @GothicWiccan13 Ok

    It produces hallucinogenic affects

Ok you awnsered my question you just odnt know shit about crap

You can make a psycose ( idk what it is in english) you fucked up but it can become back to normal but thats pretty much it.

Marijuana is not as harmful as cigaret and it has been proven

Now why cigaret is moraly okay for the idiot that you are and not weed.

And as long as ppl around me mind there buisness why would it bother them

  • iv been for a walk and have calmed down. the way addicts are treated in a nation that i consider my second favorte is very unsettling. Heroto Yamazaki is without a doubt one of the most ignorandly appathetic men in japan. i hope things have changed.

  • i hope that man gets gang raped by large man

  • in my oppinion heroto yamazaki gets gang raped by large men. UP YOURS YOU PSYCOPATH!

  • @GothicWiccan13 Again this is your point of view not mine how can you tell you're right and i am not?

Your being an ignorant, Hitler thought he was right but that was his point of view

And how is it moraly wrong to smoke marijuana it is not harmfull all it does is growing in the nature.

Oh and the first TEST that has been made on marijuana the first one to see if it was harmfull or not

They placed gaz mask on the animal face so they couldnt get Co2 which killed some of there braincell.

  • @GothicWiccan13 again thats your point of view about it i respect it and you have to respect mine and btw stop being a troll grammar my first language isnt english

  • @GothicWiccan13 But putting ppl in jail is abusive marijuana smoker are rarely up to cause trouble since they become relaxed + marijuana doesnt cause any physical addiction or damage or mental illness or killing brain cell these are all arguement 1960 anti drugs ads that were used to scare the population but recently they found out that it wasnt causing anything of what i told you, in fact its one of the safest thing on earth

Coffe cause more death then marijuana and that is the fact.

  • @GothicWiccan13 And you're a selfish ignorant how can you tell them that what they do is wrong when you never did it

I do agree that drugs like amphetamine are hard and that they cause huge ammount of damage but marijuana is another things its a plant and the more we go foward the more its on his way to be legal because it is not harmfull and oh dont forget

How can we learn from our error if we dont do any

Id rather try drugs young and do something else as an adult then getting hooked at 40

  • This is wrong if a human being wana do something he should have the right to fuck up his life if he wants to.. i mean this is retarded there no crime as long as there no victim so why forbinding it

Trust me one day you will realize how you changed doing this and you will learn from your mistake its up to you and only you to do that not the gouvernement to put you in jail for that.

  • Theres no cure for addiction but self will..

  • Japanese people are racist! If you're White and you're American and European, take advantage of the 'inferiority complex' you'll get from most Japanese. But when the ugly side of Japan finally shows its face, the bank loans you won't get, the rental apartments that are Japanese only, those are a small price to pay for the much harsher treatment most non Japanese Asians get in Japan, even if they pay taxes, and were born in the country and even love Japan like my friend.

  • Speed the wonder drug.

  • @eldesperadoable1 yeah it makes u very active but its all activity with little or no production...its a very bad drug

  • @eldesperadoable1 -

Absolutely... the drug our government doesn't want us to know about... and, in fact, goes to great lengths to keep out of our hands.........

  • Nothing is beyond recovery look at their Politics, Obviously treating humans as animals is not working . Why not get people the help they need! we all grow strong from weakness we have overcome! This video makes me wAnt to vomit over their "Zero tolerance" NAZI is the best way to describe this situation!

  • this certainly isn't the case anymore with japan. there has been an increase in the popularity of organic drugs like marijuana, shrooms, and dmt. they grow dank sativa shit i must say.

  • the military style jails of japan should be put to use in the u.s. so there won't be anymore gang violence.

  • @Carlos7Matute lol, ur stupid.

  • @rahulpower why the stupid for????

  • ???? Black systems????? I play ps3 an xbox

  • whats the problem with a little bit of speed now and then eh? If you abuse drugs then you have a problem, the same as if you're addicted to religion or love. Excess in moderation, people! Excess in moderation!

  • Why is it that all these people claim to know everything about Japan, and they don't even realize they don't have the slightest clue?

  • I wish drugs will be Destroyed 4ever,..

  • @Hajime598 lol are you an 16bit character?

  • @thefriendsociety i play blue systems check me out i uploaded me playing metal gear solid 4 online i kik sm tail. its on my channel

  • @Hajime598 sorry i only play black systems

  • it doesn't matter how many countries initiate a war on drugs, the results are always the same; failure. a lot of people smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol in japan (same is true here in america). nicotine and ethyl alcohol are drugs. some drugs are more detrimental to one's health than others. like with anything else in life it is up to the individual's discretion. some people get crazy on speed. same is true of alcohol. time to quit making the real criminals rich, and time to let people be.

  • this is a 1996 doc ppl... but japanese are uncable of learning from the west who was the problem far longer and in much deeper scale, since we took a new aproach on drugs theres virtually no new heroin or anf addicts here, theres only threatment with methadone for old addcts... not even coke, only weed and alcohol of course

  • this is a 1996 doc ppl

  • Good mini documentary about one of the many social problems that the country ignores!

  • FUCK THE HEAD OF DRUGPOLICE GUY PSYCHOPATHIC PRICK FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU-

  • Hahahah this man really hates Japan.

  • They say that the drug users in prison "don't know how to work" and such....like all drug users in the world are unemployed losers. They might want to reconsider that stance. I guarantee a large percentage of them had good jobs, real lives, etc.

  • Maybe its just me but i feel like most of these videos are about negative aspects of Japan, and why they dont even translate what these people have to say ? I understand that bad news have nore interest, but it would be nice to see some positive stories of Nippon too.

  • @mef667 The Japanese Government has plenty of "positive" news about Japan, their hot baths and cherry blossoms for people like you who like to prefer not to know about the real Japan. Maybe you should visit your local Japanese consulate!

  • journey man pictures is typical austrailian. hates japanese. not exactly balanced is it.

  • subtitles please! not all of us speak japanese

  • Locked up INDEFINITELY ?? Talk about harsh!!

  • fuck you GFT....

  • I can imagine that speed and other amphetamines are quite popular, look at their work ethics and the big pressure on students and look at look up Karōshi.

  • This guy must have so much hate for Japan. He makes that country look like a piece of shit.

  • well as far as Alcohol theres NO help palces, OR AA.

there should be, But we/USA should be more like Japan on a zero tollorence towards drugs. many chinese,Koreans bring drugs in. im Glad to see they

have a strict laws against it.

  • this story has a very critical tune, as if the reporter has a better method for drug users.

  • Someone really needs to subtitle this, very interesting.

  • damnit dats y weed in japan expensive as hell, da consequences of gettin caught are fuckin high

  • why dont they just kill them

  • The Japanese are even greater douches about drugs than Americans.

  • @Shalek Who do you think they learnt it from? They just do it with usual Japanese intensity

  • Addiction is a mental illness. Same with gambling.

  • second

  • Holland is on speed, weed, coke, pills, heroine, crack, shrooms, ghb and all the others...

This is not only a Japanese problem lol

  • lool

total wrong dude clear u never been to my home land :-)

  • @iTeaze888 Actually, Holland has some of the lowest drug abuse stats in the world. Self-loathe much?

  • It seemed a bit biased how the narrator states the entire nation of Japan as being full of speed during the WWII years , as all sides in that war were consuming copious amounts of amphetamine, it essentially fuelled all of the manpower involved.

  • If those amphetamine users aren't already lost in this world, surely the shock treatment with sedation will mess up their minds beyond repair.

I've met meth-abuser, and recovery is very, very hard. Their insecurity coupled with their desire to escape their messed up reality often leads to more drug/self abuse. Self discipline is important, but also gaining real self confidence, and feeling love for themselves is subtly important. People need a reason to live, not just to survive and exist.

  • A reason to live........yep.....Thats what everyperson is looking or fighting for.

  • @Tektribe808

One of the best written comments I have ever read on you tube. I wish the world was much more full of people like yourself.

  • @Tektribe808 THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE JAPANESE HAVE NO COMPASSION TO THEM WORK IS GOD LOVE YOUR NEIGHBORG THIS JAPANESE ACT LIKE STRANGERS

  • @Tektribe808 people need a reason to live, not just to survive and exist....Very, very true

  • @Tektribe808 people need a reason to live, not just to survive and exist....Very, very true

  • Japans very uthles

  • @Nenamorut Meth and speed are from Japan? I thought Germany developed it for their soldiers.

  • Japanese chemists first synthesized it in like 1908 or something.

  • @ddaynyc First synthesized in 1887 Germany, amphetamine was for a long time, a drug in search of a disease. Nothing was done with the drug, from its discovery (synthesis) until the late 1920's, when it was seriously investigated as a cure or treatment against nearly everything from depression to decongestion.

  • @ddaynyc In the 1930's, amphetamine was marketed as Benzedrine in an over-the-counter inhaler to treat nasal congestion (for asthmatics, hay fever sufferers, and people with colds). A probable direct reaction to the Depression and Prohibition, the drug was used and abused by non-asthmatics looking for a buzz. By 1937 amphetamine was available by prescription in tablet form.

Methamphetamine, more potent and easy to make, was discovered in Japan in 1919.

  • @ddaynyc The crystalline powder was soluble in water, making it a perfect candidate for injection. It is still legally produced in the U.S., sold under the trade name Desoxyn.

During World War II, amphetamines were widely used to keep the fighting men going (during the Vietnam war, American soldiers used more amphetamines than the rest of the world did during WWII).

  • @ddaynyc In Japan, intravenous methamphetamine abuse reached epidemic proportions immediately after World War II, when supplies stored for military use became available to the public.

  • One big omission in this film was the fact that all nations in WW II made speed available to their fighting forces not just Japan. And all nations have drug problems not only Japan. Why does this film give the impression that Japan is unique when there are areas of the world with much worse drug/social problems?

  • When you consider the how many chain-smokers there are in Japan as well as alcoholics, we have the "genki" drinks loaded with caffiene, the incredible amount of prescription drugs that doctors give patients, ...I was shocked to see how much green tea and coffee children drink in Japan. I would say Japan is one of the most drugged societies in the world.

  • And where do you live? And there is no drug problem? You are blind.

  • our govmment say `never do it!`that all.there no reason why.they always talking bullshit things about drugs.for exsample,it is same risk on weed or speed.and they gives heavy panishment on it. i don`t like speed actually but if i smoke one little joint and if i busted, i`ll lost everything and i`m on a newsshows and newspapers.anyway, over 30000 peoples kill themselves in a year and lots of case a murder and inflict bodily on a person by drunkers,it`s more serious things but gov nothing to do.

  • A biased report with a trumped-up and dudious agenda that they un-subtly push, to the detriment of a realistic appraisal of the situation. HavingI lived in Japan I can't help but applaud the government and individuals attitude to endeavouring to keep society together and clean. So what if their approaches are different to the west! In the UK we quite clearly haven't got the miracle answer. Neither do we have the more mature social attitude of negativity toward drugs, that is prevalent in Japan.

  • For various reasons Japan has an extremely low crime rate overall, including drug use. The japanese like to follow the rules, simply, which is, of course, a good thing. What, as this short documentary states is insane is that the government officially claims that Japan has no drug problem what so ever and just sweeps the entire issue under the rug and have absolutely no aim or method as to get people clean. I've read number of about 2-3 million speed-users in japan, higher then one might think.

  • This leftist propaganda is just too much. Just because a country treats criminals like criminals and dont cuddle with them, its a bad country?

  • The yakuza must have iron balls. Japanese prisons are ridiculously brutal, easily comparable to 3rd world prisons.

I heard of one guy who was killed by having a fire house put up his ass. The guards said it was "self-inflicted"

  • The European Catholic priest's solution is three meetings a day with no rules about not taking drugs. He said, "We're powerless over taking drugs." Warning! The West wants you to follow its example and put your drug abusers/criminals on a helpless-victims merry-go-round and tell them it's not their fault they cannot control their own actions. Since the video doesn't mention Father Assenheimer's rehab success rate, I suspect the government has better results.

  • So you mean that the governments method of doing nothing what so ever probably is better then Father Assenheimers method of doing something? Don't be stupid.

  • If you think Fr. Assenheimer's fatalistic comment, "Wer'e powerless over taking drugs", and his not even making a rule about not taking drugs is better than the government treating criminals like criminals, telling me to not be stupid is funny. I stand by my observation.

  • Again, I contend that, since Assenheimer says, "Wer'e powerless over taking drugs", and his success rate is not provided, I suspect that he is only interested in condemning the Japanese government's way of treating drug abuse. I'm sure his talk sessions are better than nothing, but only a stupid person would watch this and beleive he is doing better than the government without comparitive statistics. Does anyone know what Fr. Assenheimer's success rate is at getting his patients off of drugs?

  • What makes someone a criminal? Because he breaks a law? Would you consider those who hid jews from the nazis during in the 30s and 40s criminals? They broke the law. Just because something as of right now is illegal doesnt necessarily make you a criminal. Drug abusers don´t harm anyone but themselves, at least not intentionally. If drugabusers commit crimes to support their habbit, prosecute them for those crimes. Drug use is not a crime.

  • I hope you were high when you typed your insane comparison of drug abusers with people who hid Jews from Nazis! This video calls Japan a "helter-skelter society." Helter-skelter means headlong disorderly haste; haphazard manner; carelessly hurried; tumultuous; confusion. Japan is not helter-skelter! This video attacks Japan's reasonable handling of drug abusers who are only arrested when they get violent, go berserk and/or commit other crimes. They are not arrested for drug abuse!

  • I probably was high when I wrote that comment. I was making the point that just because something as of today is illegal it doesn't mean you deserve being treated like any other criminal. If someone becomes violent arrest him and prosecute him in whatever way is just. Of course people get arrested for drug possession, jesus. I wouln't call Japan a chaotic mess of a country but that's not what I was saying either. I really don't care about the exact phrasing of this documentary.

  • I was there in the mid-late 90's. I met quite a few people who did speed. Most of them were bored housewives.

  • Its hard to know what the truth is. Facts or can be so easily manipulated through exaggeration or half truth.

I've seen several commends on these documentaries along the lines of them being full of shit lol. Could someone direct me to a better source of accurate and up to date cultural info? Besides actually going there of coarse. I would love t o but I cannot at the moment. : /

  • In the UK I barely know anyone who isn't using one drug or another, or wouldn't have a little bit if offered. Personally I occasionally smoke weed, a fact that all my Japanese friends find completely shocking, they say they'd never even seen drugs before coming to England. In conclusion, I don't think drugs are as big a problem in Japan as this film makes out.

    Dan

  • I hear you. I come from the chicago area in the states. Half of my friends sell shyt to hypes and zombies and i know killers who were aquitted, who really did it. My city needs a documentary forreal haha

  • wow there drug laws seem pretty harsh. the electric shock therapy seem pretty cruel. but how else are you going to deal with a hallucinating speed addict. like how usa had a drug revolution in the 60's 70's i wonder how japan would deal with something like that or would somthing like ever happen

  • maybe Japan wouldn't have a continued amphetamine abuse problem as bad as they do if they treated the addicts alittle different, rather than just throw them in a military like jail.

  • i cant belive it i tought japan would be like anime, cute shy girls, samarai cultural,

  • yes i was very shocked to but the good thing with japan is that they are so much racist and nationalistic wich makes them take in very little foreigners if you look at europe its falling to islam so japan is outsmarted the world when it comes to politics (^.^)

  • No subs, no dubs?

  • No kidding, The Amazing Disappearing Subtitles!

  • lol

  • Nice outfit, Yakuza guy.

  • holy shit, listen to yourself.....

  • wtf are u talking about? speak english.

  • your a fucking moron. What a sad day for Iran, yoru a fucking disgrace. Go blow yourself up so you can have your 76 imaginary virgins with you stupid Allah and away from the human race.

  • wow get back to the 21st century before you ever try to come to japan. I lived in japan and people like you are looked down on.

  • Yes, I've heard weed smokers are looked down upon in Japan, yet a lot of them smoke cigarrettes. Very hypocritical, same thing with my country, USA.

  • @MetalBassjunkie420 Japan is nothing like the US in this respect. Marijuana is widely accepted among young people in the US and there have been bills to legalize it, whereas in Japan something like that would never even be considered.

  • sub titles would help when victims are speaking !

  • @DeeDeePanache or just falt out translation. Youd think a production company of this size would at least let the narrator tell us what they say.

  • Ya know... thats the one thing I don't think I could stand about living in Japan, total lack of weed.

  • That's sad how at 22, she has a drug-abuse problem.

  • shit happens to the best of us, atleast she had it as a young age than latter in life.

  • this is so sad

  • FOX news music!!!!!!

  • the US isn't that much better but at least they admit to the problem.

  • Compulsory Psychiatric Medication in the US. November 25, 2007 Tiburon Declaration to signify your opposition to forced drugging and the mass compulsory vaccinations which occurred on November 17, 2007 at Maryland's Prince George's County Courthouse

  • @binwei actually the US is far worse!

  • @rahulpower it's always "worse" so say the professors who emigrated there and stayed after getting a PHD..... and everyone else voting with their feet.

  • @binwei Its better for rich addicts in America. For poor addicts its much, much worse.

  • Whoa far out dude. This video is giving me a serious flashback.

  • electric shocks, infinite confinement and sedation for druggies?

    Primitive.

  • thats one thorough search, going to check his gas meter....

shame there werent subtitles for some of the japanese sections

  • Yay speed!! Good shit right there!!

  • what the..?
