So personally i think these are agricultural reasons,
1: Gentech.
crops became geneticly modified to handle more pesticide.
Crops will stay alive, but all insects (including bees) will be killed.
2: New pesticides. In Europe pharmaceutical companies (BAYER and BASF) developed new pesticides in 2002. The LD50 dose (The dose to kill half the bee population of a hive) is 0,00006 MILLIGRAM,
3: Vaster monocultures, without plant diversity. Bees can't find food.
I grew up with a strong affection for honey bees. My dad raised them. As an adult, I would often see them in my flower garden. Now I rarely see them and it breaks my heart.
I used to see bees a lot. And now? Never.
