@pasiilgautaves This was a prototype run. The customer did not want to invest in a die until after testing. This job did go to die casting and they are producing a few hundred thousand a year.

i also do alot of surface machining on aluminum

try a data flute, they make a ball mill specifically for highspeed aluminum cutting

and it works great, the tool I used was p/n HSM-20500 had a rpm of 14,000, and a feed of 280.ipm .006 stepover and and axial doc between .01-.035 the finish was between 15-20 ra,

Pretty sweet, my company just purchased a 30000rpm hass VF2, we are machining a .250 end mill @ 2000 sfm turning 25000, dude its incredible, if your machining production, should look at one,, its pretty crazy.. keep up the good work!

@skwright69 I am getting in a new Haas VF-2SS Next week to run production. It will machine aluminum about 50-60% of the time and steel the rest of the time. If I need more spindle for some of the aerospace production i'm getting into then I will look into that machine. I can't imagine how fast your machining. I would like to see a video on that!
