A few years ago, I was over at a friend's house. He had just watched David Blane levitating (on TV, yet). It took me more than 2 hours of feeding him logic, to make him realize that he couldn't actually float, that it was just a really good illusion. Later he said that I wrecked it for him. lol
It all reminds me of the whole Houdini vs psychics campaign. He felt that they were genuinely taking advantage of the public and therefore were wrong.
It is the same way some people just look at it as charlatanism, and others with a genuine fear.
