I now like what they are doing with Shazam, but in the 70's & 80's when i found about him. I couldn't take him serious. Eyes always closed, & his villians were corny! Aunt Merniva, Dr. Sylviina, or some guy with a mohawk. Now his eyes are still closed, but now he can go toe 2 toe with Superman. Now they are talking about magic powers, but he only uses his :strength, flight, & ocasional speed. We don't see his other powers. Wisdom, endurance, etc. is something we see in most characters!

Well, somewhat good news: because of the whole Blackest Night arc going on in DC, the cancelled Power of Shazam series will be revived for one issue as a one shot, and will feature Black Lantern Osiris taking on a powerless Billy and Mary. Here's hoping it's precursor to an ongoing with the original Captain Marvel.

He is underutilized, but his greatest stories are truly great stories.

They should definitely get his movie started filming. Brandon Molale fits perfectly as the Cap.

Captain marvel is one of my favortie super heroes in dc. along with static and green lantern. When I saw the cartoon from the 80's I was hooked ever since. I even went back and read a few of his comics. You can imagine how psyched I was when he was on that episode of Justice league unlimited. And don't get me started on cap being in marvel vs dc. I use him more then any other character in that game.

His weakness is that he looks upon everything as a child does, because thats what billy batson is. Superman has beat him, also when cap shouts shazam and lighting hits his opponent, it can also be reversed and turn him back into a kid, as superman has done this to him before

First 1940's Fawcett Comics . But in 1950's this company lost money because DC comics upset about copyright from Superman.

But in 1970's DC Comics bought Fawcett Comics. They changed their mind about Captain Marvel was not same story Superman.

Yes. This version of Captian Marvel/Billy Batson, is different than the Captain Marvel/Mar-Vell at Marvel Comics.

Note: the Billy Batson Marvel came before the Mar-Vell Marvel.

That was a well made vid. I'm a big fan of Captain Marvel. Per the comic series; as far as Cap and Supes, they're evenly matched in strength and agility. Superman, slightly edges out Cap in strategy since he's had much more experience. Remember, Captain Marvel is actually (depending on comic era) between 12 and 16 years old. Even with the "wisdom", Cap has less experience. But this should be neither here nor there as these heroes are allies inspite of their disagreement battles with each other.
