Excellent!! I was 3 at the time and wish I was a little older to remember the Apollo 11 mission. What it must have been to witness it. Amazing that they pulled it off with the technology and computers at that time. Thanks for this video!!!
@apl727 I was 9 at the time staying with my aging grandmother (which I did every summer). She had no TV so I was invited next door to her neighbor's house to watch. They were all eating dinner on TV trays in the living room. You could have heard a pin drop 2 blocks away as we all were riveted to this old Magnavox TV with all our jaws open. I didn't sleep a wink that night imagining what it was like up there.
I hate to rain on everyones star shine but did anyone look at the press conference when the astronauts got back,..? I think they were given a good going over !,.. by NASA officials and the military elite', they made sure that these guy's kept with the agenda, Launch,.. Moon walk,... Return flight, and Spash down. The conference looked staged and it was rehearsed!
These Apollo astronauts landed on the moon on my Dad's 34th birthday. He was so proud. I was only 7 years old. He always had us up at all hours to watch whatever the astronauts were doing on the little black and white television in my parents bedroom. What memories of childhood!!
Get out of my head, man! This song always reminds me of Apollo 11 because its airplay peaked at the time of the mission. And thanks for using the single release that actually played on the radio, too!
This song & the stills of the Apollo 11 mission remind me of the summer of 69, when our family had a wonderful holiday in Friday Harbor, WA, and we watched Neil Armstrong stepping on to the lunar surface. Great memories and thanks for posting!
It was an awesome time! We were in Holland, my husband was US Air Force stationed there.
We went to friends house to see the landing, it was in the middle of the night, and while driving we saw every house that we passed with their lights on (to watch the landing). I don't remember the exact percentage, but it was said the viewing audience in Holland was in the high 90%!
I love the song " Good Morning Starshine." by Oliver. Because it reminds me of two great influences The STAR WARS movies and the hilarious 1995 episode of "The Simpsons" called "The S-Files" in which Mr Burns and the cast including Leornard Nimoy sings to this classic at the near end of the episode. Thanks for posting that classic song from the 60's.
That was nicely done and I hope your mother really enjoys it and your dedication. I wish all Mothers a terrfic day. The day is a little depressing for me knowing she's been gone for many years now. I've posted a video response for you to look at if you choose.
There are people who can shine in the midst of crowds and incidentally make more happy every minute of our lives.

68 to 70 were heady times and those of us that were in our teens then will never forget, nothing like it happened since.
The music was great and some of it touches the soul even today. Starshine is one of them. Thankyou for posting this.

my dad worked on that mission. Everytime I see this video..I remember all that I have seen in life and all I have experienced...
(And I have seen lots)
The only thing I keep coming back to is that no one can match this experience.
I do remember it some, and I remember florida and living there some...at age 3.
NO ONE can match this accomplishment.
I am so proud.
