  • who playing the music?

  • The Manchester Unity Oddfellows (in United Kingdom) state on their website that "Oddfellows can trace its roots back to the Trade Guilds of the 12th and 13th centuries. Some believe that there are records in Scotland which show that the Oddfellows in its original form may have arisen in the 1500s. Some historians claim that it existed before 1650. What is clear is that there were numerous Odd Fellow organizations in England in the 1700s. It was officially brought to America on April 26, 1819.

  • My Grandpa belonged to the IOOF. I didn't know it until I looked at his obituary in the news paper. My Grandma is a Rebbecca. I asked her what the IOOF is and she said "I can't tell you". I asked why, she said it is secret. I don't trust secret societies, why would I trust yours.

  • @randalljones58 We are not a secret society and if you find out what we really do - it is helping people. Odd Fellows are not involved in conspiracies and all - it was just a trend in the past to not publicize the good works of the organization because if you really mean what you do, you do not need to announce it. In Friendship, Love and Truth

  • The Odd Fellows are a different group that emerged in England during industrialization at a time when there was no welfare state and national health insurance. The group was founded similar to a labor union to help its members and their communities because it was very hard at that time.

  • @LouieBlakeSarmiento also, our initiations are not torturing. You might be referring to other frats. Ours, we do not have hazing or whatsoever.

"and herein do i exercise myself, to have a good conscience void of offense toward God, and toward men..........acts 24:16

a fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control.

  • @beginization @beginization Well, it's not called a temple but more on a "hall" or most common "lodge". There are lodges there in Australia and a building I believe. The Odd Fellows functions more as a charitable organization rather than philosophical. The Odd Fellows was formed more on as a beneficial society back in the days when "welfare state such as insurance system" still do not exist.

  • i am an odd fellow, i love this video, better yet, make one of the "skeleton in the closet" lol

  • @ODDFELLOWS67 hello whats do oddfellows do, is it like freemasonry in the lodge.

My dad was a druid so I joined freemasonry but we do have a oddfellows branch in my country, does it cost much to join

  • @beginization It is not that costly and you can be a member of both. Dues depend on each jurisdiction, you can check the website of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows there in Australia. We can give you contacts also.

    Fraternally,

    Louie
