Its stable and has a good reputation, so is a good option to introduce yourself to DJing, without spending a lot of money... But you can probably get something even cheaper if you don't need the CD drives and simply want to control some DJ software also...
Hey there Andre i just bought this mixdeck,,i'm not a dj or anything like that just biought it cuzz i want to have some fun in my free time but i got alittle upset when i try to hook it up in my PC...i use virtual Dj...and it came with it..but I can't really scratch from the mix deck to the computer like I seen in other mixers...so please what do i need to do to be able to fully control the mixdeck from my pc.???
@2009PLP Hey, there should be a setup disc that came with your Mixdeck, you need to go to the settings and tell the software that you are using Mixdeck to control it, and probably even go to the VDJ website and find a mapping file to ensure all your controls a properly mapped. It won't simply work straight of the box, but will work, so maybe ask on the VDJ website for some help from other users as this is your best bet to get it going with your software. email me any Q's - andre@12am.com.au

Wow..I think I just found my next Console. Using Hercules RMX right now and it's great, will keep it for it's portability, but I really like the all in one functionality of this deck! Thanks for that, mix at the end was really on point.

Just bought this exact unit and do not understand the 123 loop in loop out record functionality. Unityofyouth@gmail.com is my email if you dont mind any advice you have for someone starting out would be really cool. When mixing your own music do you often run a drum track ect through the left and mess around over it on the right. Just any input would be appriciated.
Hey Andre, my mixdeck is offically dead. Every time i put up my left fader it knocks out signal from the left channel. And if i even touch the right volume deck fader, it loses signal from left, right or even both. and i have to hold constant pressure to keep it working.
help me andre, i bought a numark mixdeck in used condition and try to plug in my monitors using the RCA cable (with the red/ white) into the mixdeck master and no sound comes out.what should i do? i also tried to plug it in the booth and nothing comes out.i already put the volume on the booth and master at high gain.

@Metallic1892 No, not the best option, there are LOTS of options, its a good option if you like it, you need to choose one you like and go with that, depending on price, usage and software you wanna use. Feel free to ask about any controllers, maybe let me know what you like and what your options are in price range.

@themooseey Hey guys, just want to clarify... Your crossfader stopped working at all, but you can mix from one channel to another by using the crossfader slope control to do mix from one to another? If the crossfader is broken, you will certainly feel it, but could also be a lead not connected properly in the unit if it is the unit. Have you/your son DJ'd before owning this unit? This was one of motivation video to buy my MixDeck, but I don't know why, the mine isn't working fine... the scratch function isn't working, I updated the firmware (0.39), and nothing! I'm from Brazil and don't know what can I do! :-(

@rapswing Hmm, not sure I agree with this, but EVERYONE is entitled to their own opinion. Some of the worlds biggest DJs use digital systems that run off software. It opens the doors to a whole new world, sure you don't need to learn how to DJ like we used to in the 90's, but Digital DJs can do so much more, You can spend your time telling your story through loops, effects, layering, ensuring you can put in samples when suits your story! DJing is about performance, so whatever works for you!

@rapswing Hey there mate. It does indeed work without a computer, it works however you want it to work, either CDs or hard drive with your music on it, or you can use it as a control surface for DJ software... You can simply plug in headphones and speakers and take to a party or practise at home!

For someone who is just starting out, looking to do small college parties and such, is this a good system price wise? Seems like a good system for a beginner to navigate, but with a lot of features for more skilled users.
@WhiteStripes13 This is certainly a good device for someone wanting a bit of everything, I would not recommend to users wanting to play clubs, as there is simply not the right feature set on this, but for someone who wants to play a bit of all media + record etc, its a great device for this price.

@nmdog112... You can use any MIDI mappable software with it, so NOT Serato Scratch Live or Traktor Scratch Pro, but Traktor Pro 2, or Traktor LE, Virtual, Deckadance or Torq etc...

@aichestylercollin Its all a personal choice... People will always hate something, so never listen, look at things yourself as they all can be seen on Youtube, or downloaded as trial free versions. In the USA for example, Traktor is not included nor loved as much as in UK, Europe and the rest of the world... Traktor is certainly the software most big DJs use in my opinion, but you have to make these decisions yourself, just don't take it as gospel, play with it and see if it works for you.
@nativesamari You use the record function in your iPod, simple, from what I remember when I reviewed the product, it will appear when you dock the iPod... Its very easy though, if someone has exact answer, please post!
@andrecato All you should have to do is when the recording thing loads on the ipod, there will be a read record button. When you hit record it should then start recording. Fairly Simple

this system is worth the $ but somthing ive never figured out is my zune... Ive tried to plug in my zune on the usb, Sometimes it picks it up and says "375 mp3 files found" but than it zeros and says "Please try another folder" ive never been able to figure that out, Any ideas?
good mention about wether people should get this or seperate cd players and mixer. I have not bought this product (...yet) however i have been DJ'ing for over 13 years and have demoed this at my store. if you are just starting or have been for quite some time, this is perhaps the most impressive design Numark has come out with.My buddy who is all vinyl even is impressed, def worth the buy. @linker9kid The X1 is a software controller, so why would you want to hook it up to the mixdeck? You can have both the Mixdeck and X1 connected to Traktor though, via your computer. You just need 2 USB ports.

@paisanos - If I had a choice and money was no option, i would go for an NS7, I love the feel and professional feel of the whole unit. Mixdeck is for someone who wants/needs EVERYTHING in one console, more of a mobile or home DJ.

this is a great piece of equipment and everyday i play with it i find new functions to it, its worth the money, and i personally recommend this instead of the mixtrack pro because the mixtrack only has 2 outputs and doesnt come with the functions the mixdeck does, the only thing i didn't like is the ipod dock because it does not support 4th generation and that is the ipod i own, but virtual dj does have a recorder option, hope this helps some of the questions between the mixdeck and mixtrack pro
Hey great vid learned a few things i didnt know. well for some reason my tractor program does not quite work with my mixdeck. i dont know if its the program or the mixer. for one i lose a lot of fx and all the controls dont work like reloop and revers play and stuff like that. any way i can find out what it is. oh and one more thing my mic input i used it for the first time and it really distorts the sound of the mic.

@stevo8cro You really just need to ask yourself... Do you need CD players? That is the main thing you will miss if you go for Mixtrack Pro instead of Mixdeck. If you don't play many CDs, then I would start with Mixtrack Pro and see where you end up, you can always upgrade.

@nativesamari You use the record function in your iPod, simple, from what I remember when I reviewed the product, it will appear when you dock the iPod... Its very easy though, if someone has exact answer, please post!

@andrecato All you should have to do is when the recording thing loads on the ipod, there will be a read record button. When you hit record it should then start recording. Fairly Simple

this system is worth the $ but somthing ive never figured out is my zune... Ive tried to plug in my zune on the usb, Sometimes it picks it up and says "375 mp3 files found" but than it zeros and says "Please try another folder" ive never been able to figure that out, Any ideas?

good mention about wether people should get this or seperate cd players and mixer. I have not bought this product (...yet) however i have been DJ'ing for over 13 years and have demoed this at my store. if you are just starting or have been for quite some time, this is perhaps the most impressive design Numark has come out with.My buddy who is all vinyl even is impressed, def worth the buy. Iv seen it go as low as 400$ just gotta look around

@linker9kid The X1 is a software controller, so why would you want to hook it up to the mixdeck? You can have both the Mixdeck and X1 connected to Traktor though, via your computer. You just need 2 USB ports.

@paisanos - If I had a choice and money was no option, i would go for an NS7, I love the feel and professional feel of the whole unit. Mixdeck is for someone who wants/needs EVERYTHING in one console, more of a mobile or home DJ.

this is a great piece of equipment and everyday i play with it i find new functions to it, its worth the money, and i personally recommend this instead of the mixtrack pro because the mixtrack only has 2 outputs and doesnt come with the functions the mixdeck does, the only thing i didn't like is the ipod dock because it does not support 4th generation and that is the ipod i own, but virtual dj does have a recorder option, hope this helps some of the questions between the mixdeck and mixtrack pro

Hey great vid learned a few things i didnt know. well for some reason my tractor program does not quite work with my mixdeck. i dont know if its the program or the mixer. for one i lose a lot of fx and all the controls dont work like reloop and revers play and stuff like that. any way i can find out what it is. oh and one more thing my mic input i used it for the first time and it really distorts the sound of the mic.

@stevo8cro You really just need to ask yourself... Do you need CD players? That is the main thing you will miss if you go for Mixtrack Pro instead of Mixdeck. If you don't play many CDs, then I would start with Mixtrack Pro and see where you end up, you can always upgrade.
