  • wouldnt wait before pushing chest, if u call 999 they will take FOR EVER to even find NEARBY your location, to quote FLAVA FLAV, 911s a joke in your town..this really is some fucking lazy ass shit im quite disgusted with the lack of humility

  • When you perform rescue breaths, your only providing the patient with 21% O2 which is what you find in room air. The blood must circulate to the brain to prevent brain death. High quality CPR is proven to save lives more then interrupting compressions for ventilations. I have done CPR on over 100 people thus far in my career, and the key is to never delay the compressions.

  • OH MY GOD

    HE BLED

    EVERYWHERE

  • @jasin95 lol!! :D

  • AIRWAY !!! You've got to see (hear) if they are breathing and make sure air CAN get in and out.

  • @TheKaringo incorrect

  • I don't see how you do just chest compressions without rescue breaths. The brain needs oxygen to live. Without it, the brain is screwed.

  • @RyanSellman1 There is enough oxygen in the blood to keep the brain alive for a few minutes. Hands-only CPR at least continues the blood flow and is much better than nothing.

  • Please can you add to the notes that if an adult collapses do the hands only, and the breathing (mouth-to-mouth) component of CPR remains important in the treatment of other cardiovascular emergencies:

    All unresponsive infants and children

Adult victims who are found already unconscious and not breathing normally

Any victims of drowning or collapse due to breathing problems

    From the website handsonlycpr.

  • Most people can't check a pulse properly. Their either don't count the right number of times, miss beats, can't find the pulse at all or do the sums incorrectly. The best life sign is to look at the chest and check for breathing rise and fall.

They have simplified CPR as it has confused so many in the past. Breaths still help, but not as much as the pumping of blood around the body. I was taught to do 20 compressions to 1 breath.

  • @bassbassgirl 30 compressions and two breaths. Breaths only if you know that the person doesn't have a transmittable disease, or you have a pocket mask, or bag mask. Otherwise just compressions. @ 100beats/minute

  • Rate at least 100/min!! Learn and Live.

  • So don't you need to breathe into their mouth too if you do this?

I'd think it's a good idea to breathe into their mouth too for good measure, just common sense..

  • No, you don't need to do rescue breathing. It's the blood that brings oxygen to the brain. If the blood's not flowing, your breaths of air aren't helping. The important thing is to push hard and fast, keep the blood flowing.

  • And remember when you press down on someone's chest doing CPR, you will most likely be cracking their sternum and/or breaking ribs so expect some noise.

  • @boballende correct!

  • @boballende lol cracking ribs. That was disturbing

  • Great update. Thanks for getting this info out there.

  • wow that realy fast

  • lol

  • Oh no!

  • First tap shoulders to see if they are conscious, then if not call 911then if you saw them collapse then you don't need to do the breaths but if you didn't then do 2 breathes then chest compressions. If there's an aed around use that.

  • wont you assess first? do you need to still perform rescue breathing
