  • Thank you so much for this video! I am going through a Anne Orr Yokes and Gifts book and this particular stitch is described but in a written pattern, "insert your crochet in the previous loop" is very catchy to understand if you have never seen this knot done in the real in front of you. So.. thanks a lot for taking the time for giving the information to us, new crocher lovers!!

  • hi i love your video, i would like to know how to make a pontcho useing this type of knot, do you have a video showing this

  • can you please post the pattern for making jewelry

  • amazing!!

  • can you please post the pattern for a triangle shawl using this stitch... Please Please... :)

  • @ami4ever98 Hello! There are several triangle shawl patterns posted in the "Show More" or "More Info" section of this video (the section is under the video display, sometimes you have to click the double down arrow to view). You can use the Lion Brand pattern to recreate the triangle shawl I used in this video. Hope this helps!

  • @naztazia Thank you so much !! I found it.

And yes I have subscribed... I look forward to more videos..

  • @TheCalicoTwo Hello! You can definitely use this stitch for an afghan - and if you make the loops smaller (a bit smaller than I do in the video), and use a smaller crochet hook (like a size F or G) and use a thinner yarn (like a sport weight yarn) - it won't come out too lacy at all.

  • How many chain stitches do I cast on with to do this pattern as in your video and what size crochet hook.

    MyCinderella11

  • @MyCinderella11 Hi! Do you mean the triangle scarf pattern? If so, there is a link in the "more info/show more" section of this video (right under the video display) for Lion Brand (dot) com (sorry links don't work here in comments). That is the pattern I used for the scarf. I used a G crochet hook, & it requires you to start off with a chain of 2. You end up working from the small pointy end first, then build upwards so that you can make the triangle as small or as large as you want.

  • I would like to know the color and Brand of the yarn you used at the beginning of this video. Thank You, It was the head wrap I think.

  • @debbiejanetoo Hello! Sorry for the delay in response - had a newborn baby and haven't had alot of time on the 'Net. Anywho - the yarn is Ellyn Cooper's Yarn Sonnets Caribe Irisee in colorway Misha. Found it at one of my local yarn shops. Little pricey, but certain worth it for a smaller item. Hope this helps!

  • What was the size of the triangle shawl you made? I made one following one of the links and it told me to make 22 SK as the foundation and its WAYYY too big for me to do what you did with yours.. :/

  • @chelseadarlingful Hello! The triangle shawl I made is more of a head wrap, measuring about 20 inches on it's longest side, but that's because I used a smaller yarn and hook. The links I include are just examples of patterns that you can make with this stitch. The lion brand link might work for you because it starts at the smallest point (bottom of the triangle) and builds upwards. At that point you can stop at any row once the shawl gets as large as you want it to be.

  • I love the crochet hook holder and the little puffs at the very beginning! Is there a pattern for those on your site?

  • @LEGobel Hello! Both of the patterns are on my website. Links never seem to work in comments here on YouTube - naztazia (dot) com is the address. I do have a video for making those little puffs on my YouTube channel. Hope this helps!

  • This one was actually hard for me to understand and get. But your videos are wonderful!

  • I love your videos - they're the most helpful I've found! I'm starting a shawl using this stitch throughout, but I'm not sure how to increase/decrease at the end of a row and move on to the next. I wish you're video showed these next steps. :)

  • I love your videos - they're the most helpful I've found! I'm starting a shawl using this stitch throughout, but I'm not sure how to increase/decrease at the end of a row and move on to the next. I wish you're video showed these next steps. :)

  • love love love the linx to other patternz... thank u soooo much...

  • you should post more vidz n toots w donna. very pleasant to watch and this toot was soooo cool. this is such a pretty knot and i will make something right now w it... :)

  • Good:) it was easy to learn

  • holy **** i did it

    thanks your awesome

  • @MetalChickxX Thanks for stopping by. Glad the video could help :)

  • Takk fyrir mig :0)

  • i did it!!!!!:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • Have a question do you have a video showing how to make thehook holder you have in this video

  • i would love to make that beanie in the beginning, so cuttee!!

  • @19931993tiff The beanie in the beginning is actually a small triangle shawl just tied at the back of the neck. Links don't work in comments here from YouTube, but if you go under the "Show more" info section of this video, there are web links to a few triangle shawls - any of them will work. The Lion Brand link is probably the easiest one.

  • @naztazia thank you!!!:)

  • i love this ...its so pretty

  • @foxibren Thanks for the kindness - I love the stitch too. It's actually quite vintage, which probably adds to its appeal :)

  • PAZ E SUCESSO.....BRASIL

  • @KELICODEIRO2010 Obrigada! :)

  • I was wondering if you've ever heard of the K stitch? I have been trying to find out how to do that again for years now. I had the instructions given to me years ago when I first started to crochet (about 8 years now) and I lost the instructions. Have you ever heard of it?

  • @BabyOrcaLover I believe the "K stitch" is generally known as the "cross stitch." To do this, do one double crochet (DC). Skip the next stitch. Do a DC in the next stitch. Go back and from behind, do a DC in the stitch you just skipped. This will create a criss-cross, like the letter K. Now skip the next stitch, then do a DC in the next stitch. Go back and do a DC in the skipped stitch. Keep repeating pattern across the row. Hope this helps.

  • @naztazia That's actually not the stitch, but the one you describe is an interesting pattern. Thank you anyway :)

  • I was wondering how to decrease a lover's knot. I want to make a triangle scarf and this pattern seems really nice. the only thing is that I dont know if I could decrease with this pattern.

  • @chibimisumi Hiya! You can certainly decrease with this pattern, but if you are doing a triangle scarf it is actually much easier to start at the pointy end and increase as you go. Unfortunately links don't work here in YouTube comments, but if you click on the "Show More" option under my video, I have posted links to several triangle scarf patterns using the solomon's knot stitch that show how to use the increase approach.

  • Donna, I wanted to know if you have a crochet pattern to hold your crochet needles. I notice the picture of one, at the beginning of this tutorial. Thanks!

  • @stephanie060905 Hiya! The crochet hook case pattern is a free pattern available on the 'Net. You can find the link to this pattern on my website (unfortunately links in comments here on YouTube don't work) - my website is naztazia (dot) com. It's also listed in my channel. Once there, just click on "pattern info" under the picture of the crochet hook case. Hope this helps!

  • @naztazia ~Thank you so much for replying, Donna. I found it and what a lovely website you have. Was wandering if you have a youtube demonstration of the crochet hook case.

  • @stephanie060905 Hello! I do not have a youtube of the crochet hook case and am currently taking a break from making new videos. However I'll put it on the to-do list :) Take care.

  • i really like this knot...and would like to make a sweater out of it...not the pullover kind...not sure how to do start it with this knot...any ideas?

  • @lissadawn1 Ravelry (ravelry dot com) has some really nice patterns for the love knot in shrugs, shawls, sweaters, etc. It's a free site to join and you can search for any stitch or pattern. Most of the patterns have pictures, so that can help you narrow down the precise sweater you are looking for.

  • I really like this pattern. I don't remember ever seeing it anywhere before. Very pretty.

  • @jaded30720 Thank you for the kindness and glad the video could help. Probably haven't seen it much because it's an older/vintage type of stitch. Seems to be making it's way back into popularity again.

  • ~ thanks for your tip & advice to see another video :)

  • I am trying to make a bag like that to store my hooks how did you do it?

  • @tallsmartbeauty Hello - you can find the link to the free pattern crochet hook case on my website. Links don't work here in YouTube comments - so it's naztazia with a .com after it. The link to my website is also on the main page of my YouTube channel as well. Hope this helps.

  • ~ nice video! thanks!! I want to make a different kind of scarf now instead of the "traditional" double crochet or zig-zag pattern. :) I'm not good @ reading instructions -- they confuse me!! So, for a scarf with the S. knot, do I just keep making knots until I reach the length? If yes, what's next? Turn & go the other direction?

  • @my171 Hello! Indeed you just keep making knots until you reach the length you want. I know you said you don't like patterns, but in the "more info" section of this video (by the view count, click on the double down arrows) there is a pattern for a really nice scarf (first link). The gal has lots of pictures in her instructions, which might be more helpful to you to actually see how she does her scarf.

  • I have read the instructions for this knot so many times and was just baffled! Thanks for the video tutorial, now i know how easy it really is!

  • @Damali0812 Glad the video could help! I've always loved the Solomon's knot - yep, it's not too difficult once you see it done :)

  • I never realized how easy it was. Always wanted to know how to do this. Thanks!

  • @lilithtree Thanks for stopping by and glad the video could help :)

  • Awesome video. Thank you very much.

    btw...at 00:23 *wants* O_O

  • @jlexym Thank you for the kindness and for stopping by! Hehe - you know that hair thing is just a small triangle shawl. In the "more info" section of this video, believe I have 2 triangle shawl links - just have to make a few rows of the triangle instead of a huge one for a regular sized shawl.

  • I really like that head wrap that was shown, do you have a pattern for it?

  • @chelshirecat Hiya! The head wrap in the video is just a small triangle shawl tied as a head wrap. You can use the Joyful Abode shawl pattern listed in the "more info" section of this video's description, just make it smaller. To get to it, there is a double arrow thing under the view count that if you click on, it will display the pattern links. Hope this helps :)

  • The multi-color gradient yarn that you used in the shawl (or whatever that thing was) was very cute for this style of crochet!

  • @BeyondBracelets Thanks for the kindness. The yarn is called (get ready for this long name): Ellyn Cooper's Yarn Sonnets Caribe Irisee in colorway Misha. Found it at one of my local yarn shops. Little pricey, but certain worth it for a smaller item.

  • This stitch doesn't seem very warm but it is very pretty. This was a stitch I never thought of. When making hats I have played around with different stitches without viewing a video and came up with some interesting things. But this is also very nice. Thanks for the share :D

  • @MidoriGal17 Thank you for the kindness. Indeed - it's one of those pretty vintage stitches - I've seen patterns from the late 1800s that use the solomon's knot. Thanks for stopping by!

  • i like your voice

  • @PateuStramb Thank you for the kindness and for stopping by :)

  • It looks so gorgeous! I think I'll try it though I'm just a beginner but I really want to make a shawl for my mother's birthday haha xD

  • wooow

  • very good vedio,, i love this knot,, tell me can we use this as a shawl,,on top

  • @sabamoazzamarif Absolutely you can definitely use this knot as a shawl. Sometimes it's hard to see this in YouTube, but I have 3 links to free patterns for shawls/scarves for this knot. If you go back to this video, under the view count there is a double arrow symbol, which is the "more info" button. If you click on that, it will show you the 3 links to free patterns. Hope this helps.

  • @naztazia thanks for your guidence

  • Love this knot!

  • @MahaLaha27 Thanks for stopping by - it's one of my favorites too :)

  • This is really lovely! I had always wondered how this lacy and delicate looking stitch was made. I'm going to try and make the scarf in the first pattern you recommended. I just had a quick question about the edge knot that's mentioned in the pattern. Is it made smaller than the main knot? Thank you again so much. As you can see, I'm really enjoying your videos and learning many new techniques.

  • @BalletLover79 Hiya! Yes in the scarf pattern they recommend to make the edge knot smaller than the main knot. What that does is create an almost perfectly straight edge on both sides of the scarf, making it look rectangular. You can choose to make the edge knots the same as the main knot, however, the scarf's edges will not be perfectly straight, they will be more lacy and loopy all along the edge (like number 3s standing on top of each other). Actually both ways look good in my opinion.

  • @naztazia Thank you so much for explaining this. I understand it much better now . I cannot wait to get started. Thanks again!

  • can you make a vid how to do that hat cuse i loved it !!!!

  • @lovedapizza Hiya! The hat is actually a small triangle scarf made with the solomon's knot. I used the Lion Brand pattern link. If you look below the video, there are two double arrows. If you click on those double arrows you'll get to the "more info" section of the video that has the link to the free pattern in there.

  • I love your projects and this stitch even, but forgive me for my honesty, but you go so fast and it's hard to follow you:(

  • @elexxsis Hello. In YouTube, if a part goes too fast for you, just hit the pause button on the video and rewind that section to watch it as many times as needed until you understand it. If a part goes too slow for you, just use the controls below the video to fast forward it.

  • Im still a little confused. I guess I'll just have to go over it again one more time.

  • I'm trying! I do a double loop blanket and it's nice but I have a hard time with the first chain and keeping it the same size, just tore apart one cause the first 5 or so rows were bigger than the rest. so the ends were lopsided. How can I keep it the same size thoughout? I don't think I should have to fight to get the needle though the yarn right?

  • @sassysandy1000 Hi - I don't fully understand your question for this video. Do you mean how does one make the first part of the solomon's knot loop length consistent with the length of the second part of the solomon's knot loop? If so, I usually use my thumb as a guide when doing the solomon's knot. I'll draw up the yarn loop either as tall as my thumb or down to the bottom fingernail, or the joint. That usually allows me to make the longer loops consistent throughout the work.

  • @sassysandy1000 i get it...the base row is too tight and pulling the end in? try making the first row of knots larger than you want the rest to be...this may be allot larger to compensate for the huge amount of movement this stitch allows for.

  • I am amazed... 82, never crochet'd ever, not even interested into trying it, I had ten second watching you and I am "hooked". You are so perfect. You speak with precision. my almost dead hearing got every words, the simplicity of your way to explain.. Now all I need is the size of hook and yarn, a little guidance for pattern or how to increase/decrease, and your opinion on the warmth and comfort of crochet-hat and scarf. Thanks a million. Oh.. How to I subscribe to your site? ant.

  • THANK YOU! I have tried for many years to figure out printed instructions on how to do this knot. This is one case where a picture (or a video) is worth a thousand words.

  • @MobyDicksWife Thank you very much for the kindness. Glad the solomon's knot video could help :)

  • Thank you so much, I could not get in another video, but in your so easy, i love you

    I GET IT

  • @MegaEsky Glad the video helped! Thanks for stopping by and saying Hi :)

  • how many mm. size are you crochet?

  • @tutitoknitting Hello! The crochet hook size is 5mm - or a US size H. Hope this helps!

  • @frecklespec Hello! Thanks for stopping by. The head wrap made with the Lover's Knot stitch is actually a small triangle shawl. There are links in the "more info" section of this video that give you free patterns for triangle shawls (right under the video, there are two double triangles pointing down - click on that). I'm sorry I can't post the links into this comments section - YouTube doesn't permit it. Hope this helps.

  • its really beautifull but it so confusing me, i really cant deal with it.....

  • @pontikokou1 i thought the exact same thing..it's gorgeous but ohmygod it looks so complex lol

  • i love it could you show us how to crochet a shawl with that stitch please

  • I am sorry to say that I found this video very confusing, and moved way too fast. It said to click on the "more info" button to the right and I saw NOTHING. Is there a way to post the directions, or email me the directions?

    Thanks.

  • @jjkringle In YouTube, you can pause, rewind, and review sections of the video if the video moves too fast for you. The "more info" section in YouTube may be different depending upon whether you are watching my video by itself or as a frame in my channel. If you are watching it by itself (no purple around it), then YouTube's "more info" button is the double down arrow directly underneath the video. You'll find links to several patterns in there.

  • please look at my crochet vidio i show how to make an amigurumi, a cat toy, and a puff stitch bracelete :D All crochet All fun !

  • @TheDecemberQueen Wonderful! So nice to meet fellow crocheters on here who keep the art alive with videos :)

  • how did you make the case in 0:01 ?

  • @GarudaMoYe2010 Hi - the crochet hook case is a free pattern available on the 'Net. YouTube doesn't permit links in comments, otherwise I'd paste it here for you. You can however go to my website naztazia . com and find the link to the free pattern there. Take care!

  • lovely

  • @enajyecas Thanks for the kindness and for stopping by :)

  • Thank You, is very clear how You explained it.

  • How do you do the Lover's Knot to make the hat you showed in 0:23?

  • @Yonnea The Lover's Knot hat that you see is actually a small triangle "shawl" that I just tie my hair back with and tuck in the ends. The link to the pattern for a triangle shawl is the Joyful Abode website that is listed in the description part of this video. I wish I could just put a direct link to the pattern in this comment, but for some reason links never show up here for me.

  • do you have a video for the shawl at the beginning of this video above ??

  • Hi! I do not have a video for the shawl at the beginning, but the free pattern is available as a link off my homepage, which you can find in my profile. I'd post the link here, but for some reason, YouTube doesn't seem to display it properly. Take care!

  • o my gosh crocheting looks hard, ugh i should have listened to my grandma better maybe ièd know the first thing on how to do this myself, lol

  • omg i just had to sub i am sooo willing to learn

  • Hope the videos help. Please let me know if you need anything.

  • wonderful! i really like that! cant wait to get started

  • Thanks for the feedback and for stopping by!

  • Can you tell me how you made that cap you showed in the biggining of the video. It was looking really attractive.

  • Hiya! The hair wrap is actually a smaller version of a triangle shawl I made from the Joyful Abode link that's found in the "more info" section of this video (under my picture). It's held in my hair by 2 barrettes. Unfortunately links don't work in comments, so I can only point you to that "more info" section. BTW, the pattern is free.

  • ooo! i dont know what to do now please help! I looked all over and googled it and ebayed it the best i could! lol! i cannot find this yarn for sale anywhere online. my daughter would love anything made of of this yarn. please help me find this or some similar yarn! youre so good about replying to comments we really appreciate your time and effort.

  • There are 2 yarns in the video. The actual shawl & hair thing (purples, greys, etc.) is made from Cooper's Yarn Sonnets Caribe Irisee in the colorway of Misha. I purchased it at Summit Yarn Studio in Clarks Green, PA (you can google them). That light blue shiny yarn that I use to demonstrate the actual stitch with the crochet hook is Bernat Shimmer - which is also the same yarn as Paton's Brillant (they are owned by the same company). That yarn can be found in most regular craft stores.

  • nice,nice,nice!!!

  • Thanks for stopping by - glad the video could help!

  • Can I please have the pattern for the wrap with a twist in the front at the beginning of the video? I'd really appreciate it, thanks :)

  • Hiya! You can find the free pattern for the moebius wrap at my website. You can find the link to my website in my profile (and it's listed in the video as well).

  • I really like the hat using the lover knot can I have the pattern I would love to try to make one.

  • so how did you form it into a hat??

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks so much! This is a great tutorial! :D

  • Thanks for the kindess - glad it could help!

  • Please show a video on how you make a lovers knot beret. Like you had...I can't find a patter.please help and thank you for showing me this=]

  • The lovers knot hair thing you see is actually a small triangle shawl that I tied around my hair. The pattern for the shawl (just make it smaller for your head) can be found in the "more info" section of this video (under my picture) - the one from Joyful Abode. I wish I could post direct links in these comments, but they never seem to work for me.

  • Thx for the video this really helped i have been trying to do that stitch. :) Could you tell me how to make the needle holder case @ 0.01.

  • @CrochetBallerina Thanks for the kindness! If you go to my website (links don't work so well in comments here so I can't paste it, but you can find my website in my profile) - I have the link to the free pattern.

  • hi--I'm new at this ... do you provide printed instructions of your video patterns...you are great to watch...easy to understand...Thanks!

  • That's a great idea! I don't have printed instructions yet, but will work on it. Thanks!

  • Thank you so much for this helpful tutorial!!! May I ask what yarn is used for the shawl displayed at 0:18? It's just beautiful...

  • You have excellent taste in yarn. It is indeed probably one of the prettiest and softest yarns I've ever seen. It is called Ellyn Cooper's Yarn Sonnets Caribe Irisee in the colorway of Misha. It's a hand-dyed yarn that I found in my local yarn shop (and they have it online). It even has a pleasant smell to it. There's a gold thread woven throughout that makes it sparkle in the sunlight. My video doesn't even do it justice - it's much prettier in person.

  • what hook do use?

  • The size of the crochet hook depends upon the yarn you are using. If you have regular worsted weight yarn, a size H, I or J hook would work. If you have a lighter sport weight yarn, size F or G would work. If it's a bulky weight yarn, you might want to do a size N.

  • it looks so easy to make but the video keeps stopping and starting ;(

  • Sometimes YouTube does that during really busy times. Maybe try again during another time and let me know how it goes.

  • Hey this is very helpful. but i want to know how to make the hair net thing at 0.23. i dont really know how to read patterns so if there any video i can watch i would like that. thanks again

  • Hiya - the hair net thing is a smaller triangle shawl using the Solomon's knot (just tucked in and pinned with a barrette). The pattern came from the joyful abode link found in the "more info" section in this video, except mine is smaller than a normal shawl. It uses the stitch and method from this video - although it is a written pattern at that site. It's not terribly complicated and is one of the easier patterns for shawls with this stitch.

  • I really want to make a shawl with this stitch, where is the pattern! I have the same color yarn as you! LOL!!!

    - Amy

  • Hiya! The links for the patterns are in the "more info" part of this video. I wish I could post the links in the comment section here, but for some reason URLs don't work... so I'll also send you an email with the links.

  • that is great!

I haven't seen like you in my life. You love helping all people you know or not.

I'm one of the people you helped him a lot

  • Thank you for the nice comments. I'm glad this video has helped. My grandmother always told me we have to keep the art of crocheting alive and pass it along to others.

  • ohh so pretty

im not that good at crocheting yet but when i am ill try this

  • Thanks for the kind words. You are probably better at crocheting than you think you are :)

  • tank you ^.^

  • Very nice demonstration. Thank you

  • Thank you for the kind words. This is one of my favorite stitches, as you can probably tell.

  • @ferbasar Glad the video could help. Thanks for the feedback!

  • amazing! thank you!
