It fits right in with the Lost area.

According to Jake Kazdal (The only non-Japanese designer that worked on this game);

'I wanted it to be a bit deeper, like 2 or 3 buttons but Mizuguchi-san insisted it stay very minimal so everyone could enjoy it. Thats also why we included the trance mode, where you basically cant die so even people who suck at games can enjoy our game.'

That type of music actually exists abundantly, but it's called Glitch or Experimental. Nobukazu Takemura is a good example of such an artist.

if this level is in beyond mode, how do you unlock it? ive done story mode and the levels ive got in beyond mode are lost area and direct assaullt: normal and ambient.

You unlock it by getting first place in the local rankings on the Lost Area.

It was an incomplete stage which is why it loops, also It's glitch music which is why it sounds so. . . odd.

Sega probably wasn't smoking anything when they made this level, they were just being Sega in the 90's. Other examples:

-Segaga had a boss battle with a game programmer who had been locked up in a cage in a dungeon.

-Samba de Amigo. 'Nuff said.

It's just an "experience" rather than a level.

It loops, you can't complete it. It is more of a stage where you play around in. They give it to you for your hard earned work.

@Dokopop Kinda funny. For your hard earned work of beating EVER SINGLE STAGE 100%, they give you some song that scares the hell out of you the first time you hear it, and keeps you frustrated trying to beat it.

Thanks for posting this. When I played this level I was sure my disk must be damaged. But no yours plays the same way. So therefore the only thing damaged was the person who did the music.
