Al Sharpton has been marching a lot longer for social and economic justice than Glenn Beck. Beck didn't even know what the civil rights movment was--like a year ago!
Beck spends more time counting his $32 millions. Beck is a coward, he walks with about five bodyguards.
Unfortunately, Al Sharpton has to make people believe racism still exists to the level it did in the 60's so he can stay relevant as a civil rights leader..
AS A REV & CHRISTIAN WHO BARES CHRIST'S NAME, he should be standing up for ALL civil rights injustices, no matter the victims race, gender, or background. That is where he loses most of his credibility because he selectively chooses high-profile cases that grant the most publicity. MLK CAMPAIGNED ON EQUALITY FOR ALL, NOT JUST ONE GROUP.
If we as Americans want true reform we should abolish the use of race on all government forms. We should repeal the civil rights act and replace it instead with an ammendment to the Constitution that simply states that it (the Constitution) applies to all people who are born or naturalized citizens of the country, and that no right shall be abridged to such a person. By affirmitive action and perceived (if not real) judicial injustice, we only drive a wedge between OURSELVES.
AL SHARPOTON IS SO FULL OF IT. HE DECRIES RACISM AND IS IN FULL ENDORSEMENT OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION WHICH DOESN'T BRING INCLUSION, IT DISCRIMINATES. AND ANYONE WHO SPEAKS OUT AGAINST REVERSE DISCRIMINATION IS LABELED A RACIST BY SHARPTON AND HIS ILK BECAUSE THEY DON'T BELIEVE IN EQUALITY, THEY BELIEVE IN PREFERENCES AND QUOTAS THAT NEVER END THAT KEEP PEOPLE UNEMPLOYED, JUST LIKE BARACK OBAMA.
@3dartistguy this is what keeps mr. sharp tongue in a job! people are sick of his racist comments and his efforts to keep a wedge between people for his own benefit (as well as the benefit of a few...his chosen few). soon will be the end of this era and will come an age that dr. king dreamed of!
Sure. Mr Sharpton himself has said that he is in favor of Affirmative Action, but for some reason he doesn't see that as being Racist against qualified whites..he cares very little for white poeple as a whole, and as a Baptist preacher, he is a hypocrite for supporting Gay rights because thats against God's Word in the Bible as well. But he calls anyone who opposes Affirmative Action a racist even though its racist policy.
I am afraid that African American leaders such as Rev. Al Sharpton benefit by keeping a divide between Blacks and Whites. Think of the impact that would have been made if he had lead his marchers to join the rally on the mall where we could have come together in peace as Americans who all wish to restore honor to our great country. I would like to remind Sharpton that African Americans do not own MLK no more than whites own Lincoln. As long as we separate by race, there will be racism.
@lovetodish Were you at the rally too? Good comment. I too would have thought it fitting for another group with the same intent to join instead of detract from our rally. We don't all see eye to eye on everything, but on some things we do. Maybe alot of people don't realize it, but we do.
@cam1126 You don't have to hate America to support Obama. Ignorance, complacency, and sometimes just stupidity play a role. I don't mean to judge Obamatrons, but, being a Bush recovery I can tell you that you have to take a good long look at the man you support. Bush did just as much to abridge the rights of the average American as Obama has done so far. We ALL need to wake up and reclaim OUR RIGHTS. Our unalienable rights are being taken, by all politicians to serve their own ends.
I watched the marchers on 8/28 in DC. A lot off them carried signs "demanding democracy now". finallly someone on the sidelines told them we are a" Republic' not a democracy. They had no clue what a republic is. another observation was both the black and white marchers had miserable attitudes, walking like they had a chip on thier shoulders and like someone owes them something. Our country is broken. only unity, prayers and the constitution can save us.
Can we stop the attacks and work together? What message are our children learning? Imagine when we don't care who to blame for problems seen, be glad we have eyes to see problems, right the wrong without ownership, without taking credit but because we have been given the gift to see a solution. As Mother Teresa said and this applies to both Beck and King: There are no great men only simple men doing great things. How many more must suffer for retribution? Be like King, be humble, be meek.
I see a desecrated American flag about 53 seconds into this video. Are these the kind of people who are proud to have voted for our current president? Where is the red white and blue? What future is this for America?
@kgold70 I rewatched it to see what you mentioned. An American flag made black red and green. That was a disgrace. OUR flag means something, or at least it should. From USFLAG.ORG "The colors of the pales (the vertical stripes) are those used in the flag of the United States of America; White signifies purity and innocence, Red, hardiness & valour, and Blue, the color of the Chief (the broad band above the stripes) signifies vigilance, perseverance & justice."
@dlstb I don't know what it means. In a video which I took and posted on YouTube of the same crowd there is an American flag with an upside down peace symbol in the blue feild. Shortly afterwards people were chanting "no peace". I think that one is a lot more easy to interpret.
Who left Al Sharpton charge of being the spokesperson for the black community?
I thought Bill Clinton was the first black president? Should not Bill be the spokes person? Is it Barrack Hussein Obama could he not be the first Muslim President?
Why is the Plantation Owners still control the black communities? When is the Democrats going to stop destroying American? Let the illegals cross the borders, let the Muslims take over what is next? Oh, where the hell is Jessie Jackson?
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” (Galatians 5:22) When I listen to Sharpton and Beck, i ask myself which man is speaking from the Holy Spirit-as demonstrated by seeking the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Which man asks you to be angry, divided, and hate? Which man asks you you to be peaceful, united, and love God and your neighbor?
Al Shrapton speaks the truth, I hope we catch the Republican eating the blueberry pie. Ha lol I love that commercail.
