The Lib Dems were foiled by the Sun at the last election. A YouGov poll proved that if support for the party was widely known and not seen as a wasted vote then the Lib Dems could have gained a majority. Unfortunately, this was one YouGov poll, YouGov doing all its polls in partnership with The Sun, The Sun decided not to publish. This angers me so much that the Party who are in my opinion a good immigration policy away from being the potentially most successful government in history got foiled!
The Liberal Democrats voted against introducing a minimum wage in 1998 and while in Government in 2010 they voted to treble University fees after attacking Labour for introducing them in the first place. That is all I need to know about what they think of the British people.

Again smaller government can get into unneccessary wars; it's what you spend your money on that counts.Propping up the banks was a neccessary evil, which had we not done so would have caused chaos in the economy and many more business failures and job losses. I am a social democrat, who believes the Lib Dem's should return to their social democrat roots.

The crash was caused by Big Finance (it was the Banks that got to big to fail) not by Big Government. In a crash the Government needs to be spender of last resort because of the excess of private savings and the lack of demand in the economy. Hopefully 2012 is the year that Lib Dem's remember that other great liberal; Keynes.

A lot of people are complaining that the LibDems not delivering everything they promised (though they will have implemented 75% of their manifesto by 2015 - compared to the Conservatives' 60%). Not bad for a party with only 10% of seats. This situation didn't happen by chance. Most reliable projections suggested AV would have made no difference to the overall outcome of general elections over the last 30 years, but there would be less gross over- and under-representation of the different political parties. FPTP is no guard against coalitions and they'll only get more likely as more people turn away from the larger parties.

@simpleasLiam Smaller government does not neccessary mean less intrusive; government's do not need to be big to be intrusive. Again smaller government can get into unneccessary wars; it's what you spend your money on that counts.Propping up the banks was a neccessary evil, which had we not done so would have caused chaos in the economy and many more business failures and job losses. I am a social democrat, who believes the Lib Dem's should return to their social democrat roots.

The crash was caused by Big Finance (it was the Banks that got to big to fail) not by Big Government. In a crash the Government needs to be spender of last resort because of the excess of private savings and the lack of demand in the economy. Hopefully 2012 is the year that Lib Dem's remember that other great liberal; Keynes.

A lot of people are complaining that the LibDems not delivering everything they promised (though they will have implemented 75% of their manifesto by 2015 - compared to the Conservatives' 60%). Not bad for a party with only 10% of seats. This situation didn't happen by chance. If all votes cast in GE2010 were cast again the results would be the same.The real people responsible for this government and its policies are the voters and the archaic voting system they chose to stick with last May.

Most reliable projections suggested AV would have made no difference to the overall outcome of general elections over the last 30 years, but there would be less gross over- and under-representation of the different political parties. FPTP is no guard against coalitions and they'll only get more likely as more people turn away from the larger parties.
