Married children normally have their own home. Back in time it was very difficult for children to have their own home because they hadnt much money. Nowadays its easy because they have a very luxury pay. Infact that luxury pay is one of the reasons why we have that economic crisis today.
They are watching a performance of The Tale of Two Cities. When he says a "costume thing" he is referring to a theatre production. something i have heard older people call it before...
Ha ha ha. I think they absolutely hit the nail on the head with this one. Nobody irritates better than parents (I can imagine the mum sulking for days).
To be honest though, I can't really sympathise too much with the victims. I look at having to put up with this kind of thing as a just punishment or payment for freeloading off your parents when you should have left home a long time ago...
And if they are just guests there, at least they won't have to put up with it for too long.
i got my sarcasm from my father, using that, i was able to deter my mothers incessant raving, rambling and ranting during a situation like this. my dad would watch as i played the smartass who couldnt be irritated, and i loved calling someone out who acted like they werent trying to irritate you by sarcastically asking them if what they said could be used as powerful irritant.
And this is the reason why I'll NEVER get married and have kids... I simply wouldn't be able to forgive mysmelf if I fell THAT low as to irritate someone out of his/her mind just so I could watch some stupid TV show! No, if I'm to irritate someone out of his/her mind, it has to be motivated entierly out of glee and the wish to see the person in question suffer!
you realise, Graham, that if you have children, you don't automatically turn into that, don't you? I feel quite sorry that you are not going to get married and have children for such a triviality that may not even happen.
I do know that. However, I also have enough insight about myself to realize that I already AM like that... And while on the subject of wife and kids, I actually have a goddamn negative disposition to that in general, but I'd best not tell you why cuz then you might end up regretting some of the happiest years of your life.
and wow, its amazing how they managed to get this so right (i was kind of frustrated watching it!:P haha) and yet parents today are still like it and haven't learned :P lol
i don't know what else can i say to this reply cause i've already wrote anything what a person can write about humbleness, but despite of this i'm writing an answer maybe because i don't want to hurt your humble soul...huh this was long! ^_^
i can totally relate to this...this is exactly what happens when i finally get to watch something that i like or whenever my friends come over when i go home...i crack up every time i see cleese cough his lungs out though. loved this, thanks for posting!
I believe that this is classified as a comment.
