  • I believe that this is classified as a comment.

  • mmmh michael...

  • wow, this is so much like my dad it's not funny...but yet it is funny

  • A "costume thingy" means it's set in the past, as in a "costume drama".

  • Married children normally have their own home. Back in time it was very difficult for children to have their own home because they hadnt much money. Nowadays its easy because they have a very luxury pay. Infact that luxury pay is one of the reasons why we have that economic crisis today.

  • Parents put us on a never ending cycle of irritation....moving away only helps because it makes the circle larger.

  • what show are they watching? any1 british know what a costume thing is?

  • They are watching a performance of The Tale of Two Cities. When he says a "costume thing" he is referring to a theatre production. something i have heard older people call it before...

  • A "costume thing" is the British version of Masterpiece Theater over here.

  • haha i like the coughing part!!!

  • My dad is practically a carbon copy of Cleese here, lol.

"And you have won a monogrammed ice cube!" what a strange quiz show!

  • connie booth....

  • married children should have their own homes in the first place.

  • Lesson: married children should move out.

  • "I'm only saving money!"

  • I think everyone here and correlate there grandparents with Johns intense coughing :P

  • Oh god, I cough just like that, I keeled over laughing(and coughing)

  • lol my dad woulda just changed the channel in the first place

  • Sickeningly realistic. Oh, how I wish I didn't have family just like that!

  • first i heard him say "are parrots...not parents " lol

  • is that connie booth

  • yea it is

  • "*PUHEEEEEEEAAAASSSE?*"

  • Haha, that was classic. I found myself getting irritated by those daft parents. Great parody!

  • That was funny! The caughing was hilarious!

  • jajajjaja cleese coughed just like my grandpa. it was scarily alike XD

  • Oh my, this is so... the ripping of the newspaper, haha!! Cleese has got it spot on once again.

  • he likes those costume things!

  • Ha ha ha. I think they absolutely hit the nail on the head with this one. Nobody irritates better than parents (I can imagine the mum sulking for days).

To be honest though, I can't really sympathise too much with the victims. I look at having to put up with this kind of thing as a just punishment or payment for freeloading off your parents when you should have left home a long time ago...

And if they are just guests there, at least they won't have to put up with it for too long.

  • i got my sarcasm from my father, using that, i was able to deter my mothers incessant raving, rambling and ranting during a situation like this. my dad would watch as i played the smartass who couldnt be irritated, and i loved calling someone out who acted like they werent trying to irritate you by sarcastically asking them if what they said could be used as powerful irritant.

  • mmmm....I think the son was being irratating, he was trying to make everyone do as he liked, rather than get on as a family, poor Mum ;)

  • you've made your mother cry now your mother comes first go and apologize for the umpteenth time.

  • "peeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaasss?"

  • OH FUCK OFF!!!!

    god dammit

  • man oh man, watching this sketch, gotta say that John Cleese was a lucky man!!

  • Michael's really cute in this

  • my parents are just the same!

  • after 5 mins i whent crazy

  • Aah! After 3 minutes I'll be going mad with those parents xD

  • That is exactly like my dad XD

  • LOL funnay it's like my dad when i'm watching.....MONTY PYTHON haha irony

  • thats exactly my dad, except hell talk the whole time and point things out that he doesnt like or things that are wrong with it

  • oh my god.

    i am so annoyed.

i couldnt even watch it all.

  • So right.

  • That's my mother and father down to a tee lol

  • A monogramed icecube!

  • Dad?

  • ITS A COSTUME THING!!!

  • And this is the reason why I'll NEVER get married and have kids... I simply wouldn't be able to forgive mysmelf if I fell THAT low as to irritate someone out of his/her mind just so I could watch some stupid TV show! No, if I'm to irritate someone out of his/her mind, it has to be motivated entierly out of glee and the wish to see the person in question suffer!

  • you realise, Graham, that if you have children, you don't automatically turn into that, don't you? I feel quite sorry that you are not going to get married and have children for such a triviality that may not even happen.

  • I do know that. However, I also have enough insight about myself to realize that I already AM like that... And while on the subject of wife and kids, I actually have a goddamn negative disposition to that in general, but I'd best not tell you why cuz then you might end up regretting some of the happiest years of your life.

  • hahah.

That's my dad, except he sits right behind you and points out every single thing that is wrong with the movie.

  • That's exactly the reason why I don't watch TV at home.

  • that girl is (or was) john cleese's wife, connie booth. they're divorced now.

  • My god. These are my parents EXACTLY.

  • Mine too. I cannot watch TV for 2 minutes without my mom deciding it is time to vacuum the carpet in front of the television.

The other thing is when dinner is ready, they can't wait 4 seconds for you to come up, you have to come NOW!

    Amazing.

  • @both of your comments..omg.. im speechless...

and wow, its amazing how they managed to get this so right (i was kind of frustrated watching it!:P haha) and yet parents today are still like it and haven't learned :P lol

  • mmm who's the young lass ? (not her screen name, her real name -)

  • Her name is Connie Booth

  • This girl is just Wonderful.

    lovelovelovleovldokfeov :D

    i like her :)

  • that is a perfect impression of parents!!

  • Mike looked extremely good when he was young. He does now too, but now looks more man-ish and handsome....love it! :-) I prefer him now actually

  • Amen!

  • I agree with you, about michael beeing the cutest thing EVER!!

  • I agree about Michael beeing the cutest thing EVER!

  • Indeed!

  • I do this to my mom and dad whenever they watch "Ugly Betty". It gives me a chance to catch up on my MST3k-ing skills.

I'll never be as good as John, here, though.

  • Who is?

  • No one!

  • I wud scream one min of this

  • Hilarious! It's funny watching Cleese try to be all manly here, he's so young! Woah.

  • I know! How old is he here?

  • I'd guess late 20s - early 30s. What a cutie. lmao

  • TOTALLY.

  • hahahahahahahahaha funniest thing ive seen in months

  • "It's one of those Costume-Things!"

  • Hah.. Classic...

  • Connie Booth - mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    Would you like peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeas Malcolm?

  • everyone with parents knows this kind of scene...

  • you're right!!!

  • of course I am :D

  • and you're humble, too, of course. :PD

  • of course I am, I'm the humblest person on all of youtube

  • i don't know what else can i say to this reply cause i've already wrote anything what a person can write about humbleness, but despite of this i'm writing an answer maybe because i don't want to hurt your humble soul...huh this was long! ^_^

  • XD long, and it doesn't make any sense, I love it

  • er...tx?

  • baaah?

  • i didn't really understand your comment. maybe "baaah" is a greeting in your country, but for me(i'm hungarian) it sounds like belching... :PD

  • That is so bloody hilarious!

  • Did she say accidently "Michael, dear" at 3:17 instead of "Malcolm"? Maybe it just sounds that way.

  • she does say Michael!!!!!!

  • a monogrammed ice cube!

  • I'm making pipelighters... lol

  • You don't want to watch this, Malcolm?

  • LOL!! Would you prefer the chicken? Oh shut up!!!
