  • the dude at 1:56 is a beauty

  • A solo inspired by Wes Montgomery no doubt.

  • liked the guitar solo...a little different version from what I've heard before....but this song is great no matter how much he improvises....

  • does anyone know where i can find more of the songs played at this show'. i believe its the milehigh music festival. im looking for i dont need no doctor played the same night. anyone?

  • @mbasketcballb I think in the solo it's something like: A, G2, D7, G11. Rinse and repeat :) hope it helps!

  • AWESOME!! I was afraid that this would not live up to the album version. He sounds great! I love the energy of the crowd! The guy in the front row is FEELIN this song hardcore! Whenever I see John Mayer live, I HAVE to be up front. It's the only way to see him. Go big or go home! Love this mans music and how far he has come musically! Anyone that says John Mayer is anything less than a great musician is a fool and needs sit down and listen to any song from "Where The Light Is" Live in L.A. NOW!

  • One of the best solos i ever heard, incredible!

  • i dont think he was really trying to give away an amazing solo with the jazz chords.

    he was just grooving.

if there had been a roof on that place, it would have been blown off.

  • Thank You!

  • Is there a high res version of this video?

  • @SaladTaste Not that I know

  • Mr T be dancin to this funky piece a music

  • John Mayer's Solo exploited the infinite possibilies of a few simple Jazz Chords.

  • @AnonymousWhitePerson oke, that may be true but his solo is not John Mayer's style you know, never seen him do something like this. So I think it is very good of him to try it, think you can speak of a nice climax in the song ..

  • I loved the Solo.

It shows his great Musicality and knowledge of Chords.

Just three or so Jazz chord formations up and down the neck with various rhythmic techniques.

  • @AnonymousWhitePerson no, Reynold's solo is.

  • Bob Reynolds, the Saxophone player is exceptional.

  • Where is this at?

  • I really think John should put up a sort of B-side album with songs like this, Tracing, Hummingbird and so on..

    That would be awesome :D

  • @YourHamsandwich this is a song of John Mayer and Herbie Hancock, but it's on Possibilities, an album of Herbie.

  • first he tries to be like SRV and now he is trying to get too WES MONTGOMERY !!! that last solo is so obvious...jeeeeee mayn !!!

  • he should have put this song on battle studies!!!!

  • john scofield

  • is this on a album, or just a single ?

  • it's on herbie hancocks "possibilities"

  • @TelecasterDanny it's on a herbie hancock album called possibilities

  • Anybody know what festival this is? And moreso, who all the artists are? I see JM, Bob Reynolds, Steve Jordan.

  • @turtle11boy

    its JJ Johnson on drums

  • try nice solo in the middle! jm's solo wasn't very good.

  • No? Hmm, I think it was very jazzy, haven't seen Mayer play a solo like this one before. It contains skills man!

  • @0126578 he played like this recently at the beacon theater ny during the break down of waiting for the world to change. some thing to look up if you havent. thanks for the post never heard this one

  • love the ending soo groovy
