@colefarine God's the one responsible for your call, and He'll be faithful to see you fulfill it. I'd see this as a blessing. You don't have the burden of knowing the path or the stress of whether or not you are following it correctly. You also don't have to be concerned about growing proud of your accomplishments, yet you will one day have the joy of knowing you have done what your calling was when it's revealed to you at the judgement.
Recovering from a sever concussion last month in football, I had a dream where God spoke to me and gave me a task to accomplish. When I woke up, I knew what had happened and told my self to right it down. In the 5 seconds it took me to walk to my desk, I had forgotten everything, except for the fact that God was in my dreams.

I had a dream I wad facing a giant at least 20 tall in a dream and I stepped out on the road to face him; I looked up and said, I am willing Lord to fight. I was not afraid of his greatness in statue for we know we wrestled not against flesh and blood....so I know that the battle really isn't mine but the Lord's;we step on in Him and we lean not to our own understand and the victory is very very very Sure. Oh, yea Amen.
