I remember when cnn asked hilary if she supported drivers license for illegals, and she tiptoed around the issue. But my answer: HELL YES! Look, would you rather want someone who is ill-qualified to drive to not drive because he never got any sort of driving lessons, or would you want someone who has driving experience to get certified by a government agency first? The guest worker program would allow us to keep tabs on incoming Mexicans, give them the proper documentation if they deserve it, and make sure they're not just illegals living in the shadows. Plus, there are areas in the Southwest that do need jobs filled, and sometimes illegals are the only ones who can fill them. To deny that is to put your head in the sand.

I cannot believe you, of all people, a man I thought was intelligent, would dare succumb to the Republican pressure and call it an "amnesty" bill, McCain-Kennedy. I've read the 15-page bill and it is NOT anything at all like amnesty. It says nowhere the word "amnesty" nor does it say all illegals are automatically forgiven. What it does, first and foremost, is require border security. It then requires enforcement of the law, and it also allows for a worker program so we can keep tabs on them

The guest worker program would allow us to keep tabs on incoming Mexicans, give them the proper documentation if they deserve it, and make sure they're not just illegals living in the shadows. Plus, there are areas in the Southwest that do need jobs filled, and sometimes illegals are the only ones who can fill them. To deny that is to put your head in the sand.

The cause of most recessions in the United States is this mishandling of the money supply, while extreme changes in the structure of the economy are responsible for very few. Migration was due to the inflationary boom period before the recessions when more workers were demanded by that cycle. Take some more night classes, brush up.

Here is my thought, why are these people coming here? Because things are horrible in their own country. Maybe our country needs to force the Mexican government to clean up their act, fix their country and actually take care of their own people. The truth is that European and Asian immigrants are here in small numbers and most of them come to this country under work and open visas. I am from Los Angeles and if you enter a store owned by Koreans or Chinese they don't speak a word in English and they have been living here for 20-30 yrs. The purpose of bi lingual education is facilitate the learning of English by instructing in Spanish until a level is archived to make the transition to English only .

From an Arizona perspective, I think it's really a numbers thing. We're just getting flooded. Really freaky stuff is happening on the border and coming across. I don't know how many Arizonans could conceive of "getting rid of all Mexicans" these days. They are part of our culture and heritage, the food we eat, the architecture, and then you throw in an easy dozen different native peoples on various reservations. Add a few cows, Europeans, a cactus and you got Arizona.
