  • how long does that happy baby food last?

  • I also do cloth diapers, and I want to say you will really want a diaper cover, the part you have is the diaper, but that will soak through and get his cloths wet and dirty, you will want a cover which are not to bad to buy you can also buy the pul fabric or make them from wool for a little less. Thanks so much for making this video, I cant wait to get started on my little guys bag!

  • Adorable boy. When my youngest was smaller I bought a Rush 24 bag as a diaper bag replacement. It was a daily user and worked amazingly. Had the Rush 12 been out I probably would have bought it, but the extra room in the 24 was put to good use for my other kids. With age I have removed some items, but its still very practical for the family outings, better than any diaper bag on the market which I find are just horrible on the carry side. My toddler runs fast and I need 2 hands to catch her!

  • Nice Job!

  • like the organic products

  • As a Mom who has cloth diapered two kids, I have to throw out this bit of advise. If you have to resort to using the cloth diapers, I suggest bringing a pan you can boil water in vs bleach. If you're washing them by hand it will be very difficult to completely rinse the bleach (and Tide, for that matter) out, and if there is any left on the diaper it could cause a chemical burn or rash. It would be better to boil them to kill bacteria instead. Also, cloth diapers need a cover of some kind.

  • @Danimae3 Thank you SO MUCH for the comment! It's good to hear from a mom who is experienced with cloth diapers. I will send you a private message right now to talk more about this subject to hopefully help me get a setup that will avoid a chemical burn or rash.

  • Your son is adorable, my boy is almost 8 months and reminds me a lot of him. I really like the ID bracelets and will check out the itch creme as my boy has eczema pretty bad. I'm big on emergency prep and backbacks, flashlights, baby MRE's haha. Thanks a lot for posting, very helpful. Good stuff.

  • Finally some electronic device for keeping him occupied. During a bug out it is more than likely there will be long periods of waiting and you want to not have your son feel bored. Paper/crayons already mentioned, but an electronic box with books / games might be valuable. (While expensive a color nook may be critical here - 1000s of books to look at in a small form factor.) You know your son best.

This is a really a great addition to your BOB series!

  • Part 2: additional food items: Children's chewable vitamins in fun shapes - you never know what food situation you will encounter. Also maybe something like fruit wraps which are super light and will last a long time. Also for FAK: Cough suppressant / syrup. Again: comfort is highly important - you might be able to use some honey for this (and honey can keep forever). Also some pain relief spray for boo-boos.

  • Great video. Some additional suggestions based on the idea that for a child psychology is even more important than for adults. I would suggest "fun" bandaids (like Sesame Street/Peanuts, etc.) so the boo-boos can be more of a game. Paper and crayons for drawing and coloring. Again, a way to express/relieve stress for someone who can't talk. Also, if he has a favorite soft toy make sure there is room in the bag to take that when you are bugging out. (see part 2)

  • Another great video. You might want to consider throwing in a couple ziplock bags. Even though the baby food looks relatively well packaged, there's always Murphy to consider, so putting it in a ziplock will at least limit the spill. Another extra bag would be good for once you open up the vacuum sealed oatmeal and the diapers.

  • I have a 3 year old and a 6 week old baby. I just finished my wives BOB and next is one for my kids that my son can carry. great video
