I can totaly see how this is the first Bond film in the 2000's because of the futureistic technology in this movie...........however Moonraker was also alot like that.
@Victorinox667 Seriously? Are you sure it aren't the settings of your pc/dvd player? I've checked it, to be sure, with the digitally remastered two-disc ultimate edition (with the golden packages) on my pc, and I don't seem to notice anything...
@googlen0 I'm afraid I have to agree with @Victorinox667 here on this one. The speed is a bit too fast compared to my copy (which is the same version as yours. It's a common side effect of the conversion process and can be corrected with the correct software...
@Victorinox667 A lot of the Bond intro sequences have the songs played at a slightly higher RPM/pitch compared to the commercially available song versions - A View to a Kill, The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill are particularly noticable...
James Bond is one of my favorite films. Always had great openings and never bored to watch. he is holding my favorite pistol and gets nice women, GO 007 !!!
I love this intro sequence because it "Hints" At The torture through great metaphorical pictorials, such as being exposed to extreme high and low temperatures, electric shocks, scorpion stings, near drowning, getting beaten up and starvation, and YET, through all of that he still manages to straighten upright and hold his head up, albeit whilst still on his knees.
THAT is what I'll always remember Bond is about, and Why Pierce Brosnan, For Me, Pulls THis Off Perfectly.
@baukjethebest I think he was third best. First was Sean Connery no doubt. Second to my opinion is Daniel Craig as it keeps the original Dr No bond faithful to its character. Fourth is Roger Moore out of respect to his catch lines and fiftth goes to Timothy Dalton for his "down to earthness" I guess. George Lazenby..... well you were something else but thanks for joining in the Bond Club.
@franciscodudeful I think with Daniel Craig as the new James Bond, it's a lot of shooting. I like that but it's also a little bit of a shame caus he doesn't even say in Quantum of Solace: "The name's Bond, James Bond." Or: "Shakin' not stird." But I kinda like his pokerface though. XD
Well by compare this might have been more brutal since he was there long enough to grow a beard. Being beaten, stung with scorpions and who knows what else they did to try and get information out of him.
It's a shame that this was the highest point in the movie (Bond for the 1st time was captured, tortured severely for the longest time, disavowed by his agency and left to rot). The rest of the film had ludicrous plot twists, 5 times too many science fiction tropes, a plot that went nowhere, and Halle Berry (though she was quite sexy) in a hammy/sub par performance. No wonder Casino Royale was made

@moviemetalhead - Sorry can't agree here. In my view, Daniel Craig, if he stays in the role long enough could be the best Bond ever. He's certainly believable and less sleazy than many, including Pierce. Still, we've all got our opinions and I respect yours.
