With all Seriousness, I made this video three years ago because i thought it was comical. Though it may say something about how thorough the History section of Arizona's education system, at the time I cared more about how similar and confusing the word are to someone who was completely blind to what was happening. And to be fair, I received plenty of "You are an idiot, the Suffrage movement was an important part of our history." I simply did not include them in my video which is mis-titled.

@Peter7Paul Fair points, but I don't think the person who made this video is trying to claim that they're stupid, at least in the proper use of that term. Rather, I think it is trying to show the ineffectiveness of the education system and/or the number of people who don't pay attention in class. I know during high school I was taught about women's suffrage in the 1910s/20s. So, I think there are points/proof that can be taken from this.
It's amusing to think of the percentage of equally ill informed people in these comments, who had to look up what suffrage meant, in order to mock the people in this video who happened to not have encountered a word which has been disused since about 1930 in America, and probably isn't even in their history books (and not in any political science book they read, because that course isn't compulsory). We live in a post literate society, nobody making derogatory comments here is any smarter.
So what if someone gets confused about the word suffrage? It's basically just playing semantics. Suffrage is a very precise and technical word. Just because someone associates it with another word, that mind you sounds nearly the same (suffering), doesn't mean they are dumb or uninformed. And this doesn't mean women are uninformed either, because I'm sure just as many, or more, men wouldn't know what the word means either. Funny video, but it proves nothing. I did notice that a few girls were not as dumb as they were meant to be portrayed. They asked for the meaning of the word, which was intelligent, but were not given the answer. So, if the interviewer wanted to act with maturity, they would have kindly given the answer.

So what if someone gets confused about the word suffrage? It's basically just playing semantics. Suffrage is a very precise and technical word. Just because someone associates it with another word, that mind you sounds nearly the same (suffering), doesn't mean they are dumb or uninformed. And this doesn't mean women are uninformed either, because I'm sure just as many, or more, men wouldn't know what the word means either. Funny video, but it proves nothing. The kid at 3:55 is priceless!

@KhaosRep Although she did not know what suffrage meant, something one can easily look up and learn immediately, her response shows how she is capable to putting more thought into an answer than most of the girls here (although this video is a horrible source to go by b/c of the bias).
To me, this puts here above everyone else in the video.

The point was to show that they did not know what it is.
The fact of the matter is this actually shows why our founders were correct when they did not think everyone should vote, though it shouldn't be based on the sex of the person. They should have an information packet that you must study then be tested on before you are allowed to vote. Understand the issues, not Rollingstone's/MTV's Liberal talking points, before you vote.

I did notice that a few girls were not as dumb as they were meant to be portrayed. They asked for the meaning of the word, which was intelligent, but were not given the answer. So, if the interviewer wanted to act with maturity, they would have kindly given the answer.
As a supporter of women's education, I just hope the girls learned from this. :D
