Dunta could've taken a little off of it, but he was sitting in a zone coverage clearly, and 1) Kolb needs to recognize this, and not lead his receiver into that, and 2) Jackson needs to recognize this, and learn to "sit in the hole of the zone" instead of running into the guy that's just sitting there waiting on him to come.

Well after watching this a few times it does appear that it wasn't a helmet to helmet collision. Robinson did go head first though and got his jackson's shoulder and eventually went upwards and got him in the head. The league was right to fine robinson cause he went head first into jackson's shoulder and still got him in the head. The hit harrison made on massaquioa was an illegal and dirty hit. He should retire if he thinks that he can't take those kind of hits out his game.

How can you even debate this? It was a clean hit on a guy who had possession of the football. It wasn't any helmet to helmet nonsense, and anyone who believes in the suspension of a FOOTBALL player for a BIG HIT is an idiot.
i like this video, because it shows that concussions can be caused by violent body hits. What happens is this: with extreme jarring, the brain actually shakes inside of the braincase. If a person's body is exposed to a strong enough force, the brain slams against the inside of the skull hard enough to cause a concussion or even death.
If you look closely, the defender's facemask actually hit the ball-carriers chest/shoulder region. However, there was enough force to injure both players.
the only thing that could be said is that Dunta lowered his head...make contact with your facemask up. As a football official I will call a penalty when I see the facemask facing the ground...good call
I agree that NFL players need to tackle with their head up and I understand why the refs threw the flag however by rule, this should not have been a penalty. Just because you lower your head does not mean it is illegal. It is where you hit the defenseless receiver. Duante hit him in the chest, that is legal. If he had hit his helmet with either his helmet, shoulderpad, or forearm, then by rule he should be flagged.

this was a split second tackle, and it was clean. I'm pretty sure Dunta was trying to get his own head out the way so he didn't break his neck. This is just a part of football that will never go away. The thing that is great about football is how all the guys gathered around and were concerned and upset that both players were hurt.
Unlike the Meriweather hit, where he led with his helmet, Dunta turned his head to the side before contact and hit with his shoulder...but with as fast both of those guys were going, it was brutal impact.
Refs got this one wrong...this was just an unfortunate situation.

Well after watching this a few times it does appear that it wasn't a helmet to helmet collision. Robinson did go head first though and got his jackson's shoulder and eventually went upwards and got him in the head. The league was right to fine robinson cause he went head first into jackson's shoulder and still got him in the head. The hit harrison made on massaquioa was an illegal and dirty hit. He should retire if he thinks that he can't take those kind of hits out his game.

i like this video, because it shows that concussions can be caused by violent body hits. What happens is this: with extreme jarring, the brain actually shakes inside of the braincase. If a person's body is exposed to a strong enough force, the brain slams against the inside of the skull hard enough to cause a concussion or even death.
If you look closely, the defender's facemask actually hit the ball-carriers chest/shoulder region. However, there was enough force to injure both players.

I agree that NFL players need to tackle with their head up and I understand why the refs threw the flag however by rule, this should not have been a penalty. Just because you lower your head does not mean it is illegal. It is where you hit the defenseless receiver. Duante hit him in the chest, that is legal. If he had hit his helmet with either his helmet, shoulderpad, or forearm, then by rule he should be flagged.

this is completely Kevin Kolb's fault. I don't care what anyone says or thinks, he is an idiot for leaving DeSean out to dry like that, which is why DeSean CLEARLY loves having Vick in the game. I can say with 100% confidence that any other QB would have either tried to take off a little or tucked the ball and prepared for collision but this guy tries to "prove a point" that he can lead them to a Superbowl, which he can't, and he ends up making a dumb play that could have ended two careers..

this was a split second tackle, and it was clean. I'm pretty sure Dunta was trying to get his own head out the way so he didn't break his neck. This is just a part of football that will never go away. The thing that is great about football is how all the guys gathered around and were concerned and upset that both players were hurt.

Unlike the Meriweather hit, where he led with his helmet, Dunta turned his head to the side before contact and hit with his shoulder...but with as fast both of those guys were going, it was brutal impact.
Refs got this one wrong...this was just an unfortunate situation.

In fact it was more Kevin Kolb's fault (for throwing into zone coverage) and Jackson's fault (for catching & running into zone coverage) Unless this is flag football, driving with your shoulder into a receivers shoulder is a clean play. The players dont have to play the game which is why they get 8 million per year. If a grown man is to babyish to take a clean brutal hit 2-3 times a year for 8 million dollars, why in the world is he CHOOSING to play football?

Is he supposed to ask Desean to please lay down so that he may tag him? Jackson made mistake for catching and running into zone coverage, and Kolb made a mistake by throwing into zone coverage. They might as well take the defense off the field because pretty soon, any hits will be illegal.

I dont understand how everyone wants to jump on Dunta Robinson for a "dirty" hit when Kolb put the ball in a bad spot on a play that he shouldve threw the ball away. If Desean didnt have to jump to catch the ball, he might of had a little more traction to get out the way but Kolb shouldve never threw it.
