  • and one question, did Italian-Americans know some italian language, more or less...even the early people settle down in American.

  • I most like Ray's brother and his father..

  • can someone please give me a link to the full episode

    PLEEEEEEASEEEEEEE

  • Italian Americans are very removed from modern Italian culture. And even in families where the language and culture have been passed down. Most I-Ams are acutely (very poignantly) aware of this difference So CTFO.

It is actually realistic that speech would be rusty and their pronunciation very bad because they have not spoken it in 30 years. But, if you watch the whole episode you'd see that the tia can't speak english so the bar ones are communicating out of necessity. give credit for trying

  • does anyone know what aunt serena said in italian earlier that got the entire family to suddenly leave house?

  • what is the name of that song? i love that song

  • @OcelotPwns Lou Monte - Che La Luna Mezzo Mare

  • Wow. I don't even know what to say that has not been said yet... garbage.

  • The standin' old lady speaks perfectly Italian.... but the other characters don't.

  • @docholl93 cause they are American! she's an italian relative!

  • All this whining and criticizing, the show is trying to bring a different culture onto American TV and be funny, it won't be perfect, it's Hollywood!

  • L'accento anglosassone è marcatissimo...

  • Funny, Americans eat unhealthy foods and are fatter than Italians but you still think we are greedy.

  • The song is called "C'è la luna 'n menzu 'u mari" and is a popular folk song of Sicily. It's funny but the actress that play the sicilian aunt Sarina, speaks a perfect italian without sicilian accent (deep south Italy) but a slight accent from north Italy.

  • good...how com debra ad ray 's kids r blonde whh thy both r not bloneds....????

  • @MrBaphomet616 PAEDO STALKER ALERT

  • CHILL OUT EVERYONE WHO CARES IF IT ISN'T PERFECT ITALIAN,IT'S A FUCKING SIT COM AND A VERY GOOD ONE AT THAT!

  • What is that song called?

  • @TheMexOfAmerica It doesn't have a name. It's the stereotype of Italian popular songs

  • omg if the little girl knew what the song was about. IF ONLY.

  • ahahah fa molto ridere!

  • solomente cuarto! Only 4 biscotti! LOL

  • LOL!!!! My family sings this song......malatooooo.....

  • Just like my family, tutto pazzoooooooo!

  • ma chi è l'attrice italiana?

  • @hottarella la vecchia!

  • abla bla bla bla blablabla Firenze.. !

  • Sarina is totally from italy

  • @niuniuita thats the point smart one

  • C'è la luna in mezzo al mare

    mamma mia, mi voglio maritare!

Figlia mia, chi ti devo dare ?

    Mamma mia, pensaci tu!

    ahaha

  • @stemilano97 ma va cagher

  • LOL I'm italian and I enjoyed this video sooooo much!!! I love it at 3:26 !!!!!!

  • I find this sketch very funny, yes, the aunt has good pronounciation and so does Ray (I think he is of Italian descent), but agree Marie is not good, but the part I like is Debra - it reminds me of my ex husband - where he didn't have a clue what was going on!

  • This is Italian as Donald Duck speaks English...

The two Men has a no Italian accent, it is most like est European.

  • what is the name of the song they sing?

I hope you understand :)

  • @roscoerules2 no, questo video non va bene. Prova a cercare i video della serie in italiano "Tutti amano Raymond".

No, this video are not good. Try searching the italian series "Tutti amano Raymond". And sorry for my bad english.

  • Comment removed

  • @roscoerules2 No! Fidati :)

  • Can one tell me how the song is what singing there in the series!? ..

  • @melinchen92 its called luna mezz'o mare

  • I'm 100% italian and i just love this episode! it make me laugh so much xD

  • @IyedImmigrato Because most of those people (people who talk about Italians) are uneducated

  • the old woman speaks italian with an italian accent.

it might be offensive, that's true, but i'm italian and i have honestly laughed a lot.

Raymond's italian is not that bad, he is half-italian, isn't he?

  • @LittleGin88 no, Ray is full Italian, both in the show and in real life.

  • The worst episode of raymond..

  • I'm Italian, a real Italian living in Italy, and I have problems to understand what they are sayng....

  • @highzed They're italian is pretty clear actually.

  • @mlgraphic1 Italians doesn't speak so...

  • @mlgraphic1 Italians doesn't speak so. I'm Italian, if you would speak in this way in Italy you would seem like a mad.

  • @highzed Well I'm only half Italian and I can understand it,!

  • @bluecougar57 Yes possible... Because if you are from old italian immigrants you know old italian better then me. My grandma, speaking a very old dialect in Italy, is not usually understood by italian people. When she has gone in USA, at little Italy, people were speaking her dialects!

  • @highzed Not sure what you mean by old italian, my mother spoke Neopolitan dialect, but I also learnt to speak the standard Italian as well, every country has their dialects - the UK does especially, at the end of the day its just a comedy sketch, all I know is the Ray is of Italian descent, the old lady speaks well but the others not so well - but I think that is the point.!

  • @bluecougar57 What I mean is that italians doesn't speak so, and what they are speaking about are....dated topics. It is like typical american rides a horse, speaks like a cowboy with a winchester in his arms....

A young Italian people not even understand the irony implied as far away from its present culture.

Example is the part about "eating as much" : nowadays in Italy reigns energy-restricted diets and biological products...

  • @highzed Surely that is the point of the clip. Maybe the irony is lost for some people, also, you can't make a sweeping generalization about all of Italy regarding the eating etc, just as I would not make a sweeping statement regarding the UK, yes we eat healthily etc here but there are still parts that don't, anyway, I personally take it for what it is - ironic, we had a similiar sketch here in a programme called Goodness Gracious Me, which I won't go into!

  • @highzed i am italian to and i live both here and in italy, e posso dire che questa famglia non parla bene in italiano. per me in questo caso soni stronzi.

  • ahahha hai reso l idea, sembrano italiani illeterati con maldidenti

  • @highzed Non è vero, si capisce..

  • @highzed why?

  • @Rachulie Because this is Italian for a real Italian as Alberto Sordi speaks American for a real American in his film " Un americano a Roma ".... It' s just burlesque...

  • @Rachulie because they don't speak the language very well (excluded Sarina, she is really italian)

  • @highzed yo, i wanna go to italy, it's good in economy right ?

  • @jonathanmanuelmusa What do you mean with "good in economy"? is it expenesive? Yes it is expecially in the main cities and for an American because Euro is stronger than Dollar.

  • @highzed that you have no money issues while working in that country

  • @highzed i am too just not living in Italy and its kinda of a sloppy way they r saying it

  • @highzed ...naaah, that's not true, they aren't bad at all

  • @highzed yeah me to, but i understand just a little bit

  • Great Italian song!

  • its not racist its just your familys different.

  • @MCILROK11 just my family?? I swear, I never knew somebody like this and I knew many people in my life....but of course, the real Italians are these -.-

  • @martaiuola yeah it is a bit far fetched

  • I am a sicilian girl and in my life me and my family NEVER had a dinner like this. This video is absolutely racist and is sad to see american people laught for this stupids stereotypes (why they never talk about Falcone or Borsellino??)

  • @martaiuola I come from a 100% Italian background, 50% Sicilian, like you, and I wasn't offended by this. You shouldn't be either. It' not a bad stereotype. i am actually proud of these stereotypes. Except for the Mafia stereotype. I understand you being offended by that.

  • The one with the low tone of voice is pretty good at speaking italian.

  • the old saying is this Im not yelling Im Italian

  • The funny thing about this is that Ray is the only one of Italian descent in the whole family. Lol.

  • i love this song, ive heard it before on everybody loves raymond, could someone tell me what its called please

  • @ScrittiSparkle Luna Mezzo Mare

  • Comment removed

  • @tryerio

  • i notice how close italain and portuguese (br) are in dialect and gestures hahaha

  • oh god how i would love to speak italian. the language is so beautiful.

  • thats what its like when i get together with my family...they all talk maltese and im just like...HMM OK!! lol....i forgot how to speak it a LONG time ago

  • @TheNeonAngel Relearn it. U ashmed of it or something?

  • @simonistic ...not ashamed at all...i just forgot it when i started kindergarten coz all the kids spoke English...for me to learn in now would be very hard, its not an easy language

  • what a ridiculous image that have the Americans of Us: we hope doesn't come to know that ridiculous image that we have of them... Ah Ah Ah

  • Italians my ass,

They're a bunch of fucking kikes trying to pass themselves off as Italians

    God damn jews

  • ma cos'è qst cagata ??!

  • good italian!!

  • whats the song they sing?

  • @celtagas they sing a sycilian song called "C'è la luna 'n menzu 'u mari"

  • ahaha , it's obviously a tipical dinner in italy ... singing while eating, drinking wine in a flask, talking about mafia ... it couldn't be more identical!!!

  • @spiritofmelancholia The only one which speaks a good italian is Zia Sarina.

By the way it's a bunch a stereotypes, here in Italy we don't gather 'round a table, singing silly songs since the '30s. Come here in this country and You'll see that all the ideas that the world has about Italians are not true.

  • @mekhet83 I perfectly know it, since I'm italian too =) my phrases were sarcastic, I'm sorry if it didn't seem so. The fact is that there are so many stereoypes in this video that it's uncredibly ridicolous and made me laugh a lot P.S. You're perfectly right, they speak an incredible bad italian except for zia Sarina

  • @spiritofmelancholia damn im jealous at you, i would love to speak italian, the language is beautiful, i only speak english/american, dutch and german :l if i ever get the chance to learn 4 language's than i would for sure learn italian as fourth.

  • @TheFlashbabeBanned oh thanks =)

  • aunt sarina speaks very well italian!!!

  • i guess she's really italian

  • she say holy crap at the end was funny

  • what is the song they are singing?

  • che la luna

  • lol, this is almost like my big fat greek wedding, except in italian. :P

  • Only the 2 old women look like native Italian speakers. The old man seems a German who tries to speak Italian, the young guy (the worst) has an accent like a Mexican.

P.S.: Italian people doesn't used to sing and dance like this every day.

  • Aunt Sarina (the one offering biscuits) is actually the only true native speaker.

For the rest, I fully agree with you ;-)

  • the woman with the blonde hair is actually jewish and the young guy is the only actor in the show who is actually italian, maybe the italian aunt too but im not sure

  • @Zawzagez11 which young guy?

  • @simonistic Ray the main character. sorry i referred to him as the young guy, i dont know what i was talking about that day

  • ahh my favorite elr episode

  • someone shud post the full episodes!!!!! love it!

  • very funny scene. poor debra is left out completely

  • debra's a bitch

  • Debra is acctualy good looking/But b her hair cut is just horrible.

  • LOL! I understood everything they said cause i am half Italian and half Finnish! Funny show !! Love this!!! :P

  • LOL DEBRA DOSEN'T KNOW !!

  • Io trovo questo show simpaticissimo.

  • come to italy to see

  • i have been, to tuscany went to florence, stayed in the hills was nice

still a bit too humid and smelly for me

  • in effetti ha ragione, nulla da ridire!

  • what?

    English please

  • U r right.

Please invade Italy with your armies.

We 've only Berlusconi & mafia (the same thing).

  • fuck off with the stereotypes italy is humid and the air is not as smooth as english air its a fact.

italy has much better weather and its way more chilled out so im not even slating italy but its too humid for me

  • lool!

    E, a mio parere sn anke i + simpatici ;-)

  • I understood everything they said without the subtitles! My mom is Finnish and my father is Italian! >:D

    Funny ! 5 stars

  • all the italian stereotypes in just one video, oh no

    pizza and mandolino are missing

  • bella pe voi

  • whats the song

  • They are supposed to be speaking bad Itallian! They are supposed to have lived in the US their whole lives! Isn't that the point? They haven't ruined anything it's part of the plot!

  • "Sembre malatta!!" Haha, questa si come mia famiglia!!! FORZA ITALIA!!!!

  • Un video molto meraviglioso! Una programma bennisima, e una lingua buono!

  • 1:05 loooooooooooool ... funny
