i have a coaxle myself. a cx-2. and i started messin around on the blade 400 on a simulator, i almost got 3-d down instantly.
so if your just a naturally talented person, then the next step logically is the blade 400. it all depends on if you learn quickly. im getting my blade 400 in a few weeks and ive only flown a cx-2.
@killirishred I wouldnt assume the since you are good on the sim that you will be good in real life. Many have found out the hard way.The sim cant replicate all the odd physics of flight.
is flying 3d is more stable? i have a blade 400 and i have a hard time flying and hovering. but on the simulator i can fly with ease. Is it good to upgate to metal servos, aliminum parts and carbon fiber blades?
i boughtthe blade cx model with coaxial rotor blades...so as soon as i got to my hotel room i found out that i made the right decision.
When i got back to romania i flown it a couple of times until i smashed it to the ground from a height of 40-60 meters.
By the way, that was pavement.the main axe war bent and the blades were destroyed but after a quick repair i got it airborne.I think you should buy it because i orderd it and i got it yesterday and i like the real movement of it.
Ive got a lake that I fish that you can not use any boats on except rc , Ive been useing an rc boat with a downrigger relese to get by bait way out there. I bet a helicopter would be even more fun .
Dave...it's been over a year and we have both been getting older...lol but I just wanted to thank you for this video again. I appreciate it. I know your pretty busy nowadays..I know how it is. I'm finally getting an average of 100 pms a day and it's soo hard to keep up. thanks again, Helicopterkid1996
Hey Night Flyyer, i'm a brazilian and i want to know if the blade400 is good for 3d flight, like inverted hover and small tic tocs, because i want a heli that can do 3d but i don't have money to buy a Trex. Thanks.
@NightFlyyer i just purchased a blade 400 with upgrades on aluminum parts and a new gyro. i cant seem to fly it right tho :) but any hobby store should sell dx6i's i bought one for 200 at my hobby store.
hey night flyer do u reccomend the blade 400 for me after i master the blade cx 2 and how much do u think it will take to run the helicopter (like 100 dollars or more!) and do u reccomend the ready to fly on ! thanks man
Happy Birthday. Sorry, but I am so strapped this year just answering 4-6 hours worth of PMs, etc a day now, that I have hardly enough time to fly anything new that I have. Also, it is blowing over 25 mph and -13 today, so no good for Blade flying. Hope you understand, and thanks.
Happy birthday. I don't have a blade cp, so cant do it this time. Got over 400 emails and pms ahead of me today, so don't seem to have much time lately to do any reviews.
A big hello to helicopterkid1996 all the way from the UK Hope you had a great birthday :o) it was also mine on the 22nd may. Enjoying watching the videos as I am just starting with flying and the training stand is a very good idea. think i will have to fabricate one.
Thanks for the tutorials :) is there any chance you could make one about setting up one for first flight? i had an accident with mine and am waiting to recieve a new swashplate and servo as they broke.. thanks again. :)
Thanks. I will pass on your greeting and HB to you too. Study my 9 helicopter flying tips. I will send them to you in a PM. I have many videos on setups. Check the video on Honeybee proper setup. All helis are set up the same of this caliber. Good luck.
Nice flying Dave. And happy 12th birthday HelicopterKid. Not too long till my 14th birthday. I'm getting one present and that is a 30 min training introductory flight in a Robinson R22 this sunday. I can't wait! I even get to have a go at the controls.
Thanks. It takes years of practice. Just be patient and you will succeed. Learn the hovering good first and then begin flying some circuits. Also follow my 9 heli flying tips. Good luck.
Make sure to run Cyberdefender and don't download exe's, as you saw what happened to me in my other video. Hope you got out of it okay and are still having a good Bday. Thanks for your comments.
No,I have programmed my "3d flight mode switch" to hold the throttle at 90% and zero pitch at half throttle. My Throttle hold switch is set for 10 % low throttle for doing auto-rotates, which I rarely use.
That was awefully nice of Dave to post this video in honor of your birthday, so I must say also....Happy Birthday! I hope you had (or are having) a great day.
great flying. I am thinking about getting a Blade 400 but I am still waiting for my Firebird Commander to arrive. Hope to see lots more of the 400 in action this year:)

i like this helli
the blade 400 is pretty well made from what ive read
i just got the blade msr at the moment
and flown a venom night ranger II and 3D models i think this should be an easy transition
just wonderd are these hellis durable
i know a crash would break sommit but
are they like a "crash it, trash it" helli or can it withstand a bumpy landing or a bad landing resulting in a blade strike or compleate roll
im saving up for this now and cant wait :D
great vid dave

Nope. Learn on a VW, and if you never crash, then get the Porsche. A HB fixed pitch or a CP2 is best in the long run, in my opinion.

Haha I have a VW a fast one too lol check it out if ya want.
