  • Great song! You can also hear it as incidental music in Dance Fools Dance, a 1930 film with Joan Crawford.

  • Another great piece of 1930s musical film captured/preserved for posterity - thanks.

  • Loved it!

  • Who was that tap dancer? Good feet on him!

  • Great post as always Aaron. I enjoyed this version of one of my favorite songs.

  • Love this Aaron :-)

  • great stuff

  • Arthur Briggs and Pete Briggs (brass bass) of hot seven fame were brothers.Billy Cotton was sacked from his Ciro's engagement to make way for Noble Sissle, who had set Paris Ciro's alight with their energetic style

  • Awesome - Red Hot!!

  • The trumpet section is Tommy Ladnier and Arthur Briggs!

The movie was made on 12. January 1931

  • Thanks. British pathe says the video clip was issued on January 12th 1931 but Noble Sissle was playing in New York at this time. I think the issue date is when the video was given to British pathe for archival and release onto the cinema rather than when filming occured.

  • I love it :D
