Cool. The (55nm) 790-based chipsets are good on power-consumption and overclocking as regards integrated video versions. You can also drop a Phenom II straight into a lot of Socket AM2 boards..a big bonus for anyone who doesn't want to spend money on a relatively expensive socket technology and associated DDR 3 memory (as is the case with the Intel i7).

Quad, I agree. I also laugh that the -1 you got was blatantly from a Intel Fanboy or someone with a Intel System. My AMD System is arriving today. Phenom II X4 955 BE 3.2 AM3 Crosshair III Formula 4GB Corsair XMS3 1600MHZ Memory 1GB 4870 800W PSU Antec 1200 etc etc Far cheaper than an i7 system setup. Whoever voted negative (-1) is a tard fayce. lol

Only problem is that, unless you really needed Crossfire, you could've gotten a Core i5 system which clock-for-clock OBLITERATES the Phenom II and will even overclock quite a bit higher. It's a Core i7 without HyperThreading, fits on cheapo P55 motherboards, and uses cheaper memory.

surely its cheaper. and also performs not even close to a intel/nvidia combo. i can run crysis 1680x1050 with 8XQ at like 55-70fps. your system cannot no matter how much graphics or overclock u put into it.

@chorinicpker just FYI, 55-70fps means nothing at all, because human eye can see only upto aroudn 28fps, anything higher dosent add anything extra, so unless going to a competition, stop caring about it yourself.

I love my i7 and it is far more powerful than the Phenom II. However, I think AMD has some AMAZING prices. I would have built an AMD rig, but the Phenom II 965 BE chips were all sold out.
