@DavioX596 Don't forget the sex slaves. God commands kidnapping little girls as slaves after killing their parents and families: Numbers 31:17,18 "Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who hath known a man by lying with him. But all the women children, who have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves." They kidnapped 32,000 little girls that time! And a portion were given as slaves to the Levitical PRIESTS! (Verse 30)
punished meant avenged. In that time period killing someone got you killed as well. The second verse also means if the slave gets up and lives. As in, he almost dies but he survives. Then the "master" is not put to death. But as you can see from the next few verses, the "slave" gets pardoned of his debt. Also, Biblical slavery is nothing like colonial slavery. I did a video on this if you want more details.
Biblical slavery is not the same thing as what we call slavery today. Today slavery means kidnapping a person against their will and forcing them to do work for you. This practice is CONDEMNED in the Bible. Look through the books of Moses - it is against the law to kidnap a person. The implication at that time was to kidnap a person to make them be your slave. Forced slavery was illegal.
Why else was God so angry at Pharoah for making the Israelites slaves, or why would Joseph's brothers selling him to slavery be seen as a bad thing?
Do historical research and you'll learn what is translated as slavery for the ancient Israelites was more like a bond servant deal. See, in those days there was not a lot of money to be had. Most people lived off the land.
So if a person was poor and could not get his own land, he would go to another person and ask to work for them in return for food and shelter. This was a mutual agreement not done against anybody's will.
and your point? if you dont believe in the old testament, then why to priests still read from it durring church? you cant just pick and choose which parts to worship. its just like what the new testament says, gods word is perfect and the bible is gods word.
Because the old testament is the foundation and once the new covenent was made through the birth and death of Jesus, alot of things changed. Besides, I never said I didn't think slavery was just fine and dandy or that I think its completely wrong. I'm just pointing out a flaw in your arguement against God.
then if the people who read from the bible dont support the old testament, then why dont they remove the old testament from their church? if the old testament is gods word, then, surely he would have known that it would be outdated and written in there somewhere not to follow it in the 21st century
BECAUSE, as I said before....its the foundation! Its the begining. Its a starting point....ect. Anyway, obviously your not interested in a debate, as you barely seem to have a grasp of true nature of the thing you hate.
i dont think you realize that all signs point that cavemen, primative people with no knowledge of modern science, wrote the bible. It says nothing about stem cells, or global warming, though it does say that pi=3 and that the universe was created 6000 years ago.
ummm, ok. Just because I'm bored and uninterested in a conversation doesn't mean I've "lost". Plus, there is no winners in any pointless discussion. No one wants to change their mind so, there is no point in continueing. And, frankly, I have a life outside of computers.
and you assume that i dont. if you really are bored, as you say in the beginning of that comment, then you would be looking for little, pointless things to do, such as get ur face pwned in a comment forum.
if you believe that you have not lost, then explain to me why the bible says that pi=3.
And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other:round all about, and his height five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.
where does that say pi? And really...math? Math is a bunch of bs rules made up and when the rule doesn't work they make up a new formula to make it work.
This is me signing off, and if you want to consider it a win, frankly, I don't care. I don't know you, never gonna meet you, therefore your opinion of me is meaningless.
i think the point of this vid is to show that millions of people worship the bible as their core beliefs, but arent aware of the horrible things in it.
You know, I wish that was the point(as I personly haven't read the whole thing yet either)...But I think the author just wants to use one phrase or verse to justify his unwillingness for faith and to prevert what the entirety of the bible is about. But,hey its his right to not want to believe, and its his right to talk about it...so its all mocha under the bridge for me.
oh, not just one line from the bible. there are sevral. just search for them on youtube and i gurantee you, you will find many more, or just look at this guy's other vids
i think that you believe in your religion because its easy. you have no intention of changing your religion, or reconsidering what you believe in because you are too lazy sit down and think about how stupid the bible is.

Prove that pi=3 is in the bible, and then prove that pi=3 isn't true. There, is that little and pointless enough for you? lol
heatherwanderer7 4 years ago
First Kings, chapter 7, verses 23 and 26
type pi into google and see what the first thing it says is.
