@22bellas Ah man itching? Hope that goes away, I never wanted to cry so badly in hopelessness as when I was itching all over. BENADRYL, it helped the best!
You will finally get de-sensitized to the burn and pain. You do it enough, you will expect it, and just deal with it, you will be suprised at how strong you are!! My MS is pretty bad, but the copaxone has helped a lot! You can watch my video, if you like. Good luck!!
YES IT BURNS LIKE SOME ONE POURED ALCHOL DOWN THE HOLE. THE ICE PACKS THAT COME IN WITH THE BOX. I USE THAT RIGHT AWAY AFTER I GET MY SHOT. I STILL NOT ABLE TO GIVE MY SELF THE SHOT. MY MOM DOES IT. I AM A WIMP. BUT I WILL TRY TO DO IT MY SELF. MY STOMACH IS WHERE I LIKE IT.
@kbenson02 Yeah I feel yah, my stomach was not so bad for a while but then it started hurting idk why so I like the jhip, thats the only place i have a decent amount of fat haha!
@mattalleng1990 okay, good :) I'm on my 4th day of injecting and I get welts every time! I'm supposed to do my arm today, but I'm hesitant since my underarms don't have alot of fat and are super sensitive already :/ Where would you say is the least painful place?
And yes, I jump every time I hear the click and have to keep myself from jumping so bad I pull back on the autoject!! haha
I started taking copaxone on Friday and I love the autoject except that the sound of the spring pushing down on the syringe makes me cringe. Do you ever get a raised lump after you inject that takes like an hour to go away? does this mean I am going to shallow (I use between 7-8) ?
@sailorsgirl1989 Haha I just dont like the initial sound of it releasing! But yeah that's normal, sometimes for me it takes longer to go away, just means it is taking a while to absorb into your body, no worries! :^b

@punxrock1490 Yes, I heat for 5 minutes the ice for 5 minutes afterwords except sometimes my hips because they hurt the least to me, so I'll heat for maybe 3 minutes and then ice for a few minutes afterwords otherwise is stings like hell!
@sonyafly yeeeeah shoulda put some kinda note in there, this is not my typical injecting environment, if you watch my how to video I dont have my shirt on for that reason, but at the time I forgot.
@josephga Yeah I still get some burning in the area I have no fat lol... I'm kiiiiinda skinny so that means it burns in a lot of places..... But I have hot used to it.
Wow, congratulations on being able to click that button so quickly! My first injection by myself - I sat with the autoject to my arm for one hour before I clicked it! That was 3 years ago, and I do each site except my hips manually now. Sending you good vibes. Looks like youre on the right track!
@Reluctantwriter7 LOL, I try to have that now or never kind of attitude because either way it's going to happen, so might as well jump into the swimming pool rather than tiptoe your way down the stairs into the icy cold water LOL. I have to admit I did my left thigh today for the first time and it hurt like hell compared to my hims and arms so I am just a little nervous about tomorrow, although I'm going to try much higher up on my thigh and see if that helps, we will see!
@Reluctantwriter7 "hurt like hell compared to my hims and arms so I am just a little nervous" I meant Hips and arms LOL, My voice recognition software is dumb sometimes.
@mattalleng1990 NP, I got it. My very first injection was a thigh one - it stung and burned for 4 hours! But I counted myself lucky as the other places werent so bad in comparison - although the first stomach jab was memorable, but truly (for me) what started to help the injections become easier was just taking more injections, and feeling/seeing how your body responds, and altering accordingly. I do hope that higher up helps. My injection is thigh today also, good luck with tomorrow.
@Reluctantwriter7 today my thigh was much better, I think the way I was sitting at a lot to do with it plus my upper thigh as a little more fat than my lower, I am thinking yesterday I injected into the muscle where today I was able to get the needle where it needed to go LOL but man 4 hours??? that really blows, the burning usually only lasts about five minutes for me, icing seems to help pretty well, though I have never tried skipping the ice so idk how much of a difference it's really making
Hi Matt....I've been on copaxone for 17 months now, and STILL use the autoject ;) (hope to muster up enuf courage to manually inject soon!)...and yeah, the bleeding and swelling/irritation is the pits!
hahahah I remember doing that. I also remember getting lazy about it and just undoing the cap of the needle to just do it manually lol ohhh crazy copaxone.
@MsGirlOnline lol, what medication are you one now? I've been trying to follow all these peoples videos but I have an quite got to know everyone online yet,
@mattalleng1990 oh I know it will take a while, there are a BUNCH of us on here. I'm even finding new people all the time, and I've been at it for 2 years! lol
I'm on Tysabri, the once a month one. wayyy better then the self injection, but it comes with way more risks, but its the only thing thats worked for me so far!
