I tend to think that Elizabeth got her calm think everything through demeanor and intelligence from her mother Anne Boleyn. Henry VIII acted way to much on his heart which obviously was the wrong way to go and caused much destruction and turmoil not only for Henry but for the entire country. So really, even though the people called her whore, in the long run, it was a good thing that Henry had a Child with Anne, Elizabeth turned out to be the sanest sovereign in generations
It's hard to believe that the worst one of them all, Norfolk escaped execution and died fully restored to his lands and riches. Perhaps he paid for his sins in hell.
@hogalog Love?! More likely he wanted to be buried with Jane Seymour only because he recognised in his life with her what, in his mind, he always thought he should have had from the very beginning of his life. I guess that with Henry VIII everything was a question of "me, for me and about me"!
@hogalog i dont know about love but the main reason he was buried next to her was in his words his one true wife because she gave him the son he so desperately wanted to be fair if shed survived shed most likely ave been beheaded, divorced or some equally bad thing as henrys will changed often as anne boleyn was his one true love until she failed to provide a son and she ended up being executed unjustly so he could find someone to give im an heir ...
@leii1024 well you could say his true love in that case was catherine of aragon, he was married to her longest.... but in reality he probably never actually loved a woman, only himself. how many others was he nocking off behind his wives backs? he shagged pretty much every noblewoman in england, whether they were married or not!

They seem to have gotten that wrong about her first husband; he was not much older than her.

@ProfessorSSJ Oh, he did... he was condemned later on because of plotting against Queen Elizabeth and he died, no less by her order!

@Vika0885 That was his grandson. This Norfolk died peacefully after Mary let him out of prison.

@Vika0885 You're thinking of Thomas Howard, 4th Duke of Norfolk. This was his grandfather Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk.
