Most of which do NOT need a dedicated GPU, unless you're working with CAD an such, but spreadsheets? integrated GPU's are perfect for that.

@1moreTech Just because you have 9 years on me doesn't mean jack shit, when YOU don't know what you're talking about.

The CPU and GPU, both being on the same chip is fine, it means lower power consuption and the cost is lower vs alternatives.

As for why I brought the industry into this, as I said above, it's a cheaper, better alternative, even for home use too, such as HTPC's.

I maybe younger, but at least I'm not blinded by my own ignorance, also I don't need to be beaten with a dictionary.

@dakax43 let me try again some1 who builds a pc to be upgradable after 4 years (meaning u only buy cpu video card and maybe some mem in my case its the video card that gets updated) is cheaper than buying a new pc every 4-5 years. Do u know why ppl buy new pc's? do u know the cost of a gamer pc to a new video card? do u know why apple lost stock? HTPC?? really so how are you going to watch HD or 3D w/ a outdated HTPC?

@dakax43 Q1: people buy new pc's because the software demands it Q2:gamer pc costs $2k+ (thats lowend gamer pc) top line video card costs $600+ Q3: Apple computers only allowed apple parts, stock was up at first went down when IBM (pc) came out and allowed 3rd party manufacture parts in pc's thats why apple is allowing Intel chips and selected few 3rd party parts into their apple computers.

since your bringing up industries lets talk about servers.. did u ever think about servers?? would you like to spend $13k+ every 4 years for a new server or would you like to have the ability swap out the memory or H.D.D instead?

@1moreTech Look, you can bring up as much bullshit as you like, no company that is going for servers would be buying these APU's.

APU's are perfect for employee's, such as, administration, receptions, tech support... list is pretty much endless here.

As for companys purchasing servers, they won't be buying this line of APU's for there systems, when a server grade APU is released then sure.

APU's, again, are perfect for what I stated above, they also work out cheaper in the long run.

I've built PC's probably alot longer than you, by the sounds of it, APU's are good, your points are pretty much moot.

See, when a new "technology" comes along, you're upgrading anyway, a DX9 card can't run DX10, DX10 card can't run DX11 an so on an so forth.

It doesn't matter weither or not it's an APU, you'll still be upgrading.

APU's are great for , as I said, non-gamers, admin etc

I built pretty much the exact same system months ago (using a gigabyte GA-E350N-USB3) in the same case as my HTPC. Must say, its definatly the best HTPC platform thus far. Sips power and plays anything. My Lenovo x120e uses the E350 as well, and makes the best budget ultra-portable available IMHO.

Now everyone, wave goodbye to Intel Atom :D
