Anne Baxter was an outstanding actress who was as at home on the stage as she was on the screen. I saw her on stage in Chicago with Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy in "Noel Coward in Three Keys" and she was riveting. Her work in "Guest in the House", "The Razor's Edge, "All About Eve", "The Come On", "I Confess", "The Ten Commandments"' (in which she was a little over the top, but no more so than the film), "One Desire", and so many more. I remain one of her greatest fans.

Anne was a very lovely actress who was unfortuneately overshadowed by other women of her era. While being a consummate professional of her craft, it sounds like she also had a playful side; I've heard a rumor that on the set of the movie "Carnival Story", where she played a German pickpocket, she'd practice her dexterity by slipping objects in AND out of the pockets of the crew and fellow actors offscreen!

that was truly wonderful, she was a great friend of mine and i was with her at the end with other dear friends, including Elaine Steinbeck,John' s widow, we all adored her and her talent, and her extraoridinary talents, s he's all around my house in many forms , but we miss her terribly,  thank you for this charming tribute

@Rome41jm ... absolutely disgraceful! It is beyond me how such a wonderful actress could be so overlooked even in her final moments. Thankfully, we know and love and appreciate her wonderful contribution to the art of acting. It would have been wonderful to have seen her play Cora even during the rehearsals...but Joe kept us in the dark. :(

Ofcourse everyone remembers her in All About Eve, but i found her particularly brilliant in Hitchcock's 'I Confess...' opposite Montgomery Clift. Her performance was very moving, and powerful. She looks beautiful at 1:17. Lovely tribute Baz!
