If you want help with how to start out, I began by playing a syncopated left-hand figure such as this (or a transcription from Jarrett) and slowly introducing harder right hand passages.
@Mo19010100 First work on smooth beat-led passages with the right hand:
Try single beat root notes, then single beat scales associated with the motif. Then single beat phrases, but syncopate the movement. For example, try an ascending figure with 3 notes for a 4 beat phrase.
After that, do the same with half note, then quarter notes! Once you've done that, the syncopation will be there and you'll be playing more independently with each hand!
so cool! How much practice did it need to keep that left hand going while playing with the right hand? :D
