I actually like Sum 41. Sure, punk doesn't have the most technical guitarists, but they can at least put out a good song. Technical doesn't neccesarily mean good. You can be good in a million different ways. Lots of the 60's and 70's songs don't have technical guitar, but I still like them. Bad Moon Rising by CCR is three chords, A, D, and G, and I love it. I also listen to metal, of all kinds. You just have to learn to enjoy all types of music and appreciate it for what it is.
