Hmm didn't know Shattered Memories was a remake of anything. Silent Hill has always been more of transient sort of place to me. I enjoyed this game when I wasn't cussing at the poor Wii controls.
All Silent Hill songs seem to be about a mother who treated her children poorly and feels guilty about it. Odd since there's rarely any guilty mothers in SH...
This song is just plain beautiful. A few months ago, I was listening to it in the living room, and my mom entered and started singing it. She recognized the song, because she just loves Elvis. Then she said this version was one of the most beautiful songs that she ever heard, and when I told her it was from Silent Hill, she said it was fitting because all McGlynn's songs for the game are great. My dad thinks the same. Geez, I just love them so much.
I wish my parents were like that. They don't even know Silent Hill (or not that well) and my brother thinks I listen to weird music whenever I put Akira's music on. -_-

@detre07 I feel the reason people didn´t like Homecoming is because it took a lot of things from the movie that didn´t really make sense within the game (like the huge-brested nurses), and because it´s plot was a ripoff of the far superior Silent Hill 2´s.
@detre07 I think that this silent hill was a bit more realistic in some ways, face it ... just by looking at those monsters the last idea on your mind would be whooping their ass with a pipe, the only thing you wanna do is run...fast really fast. Shattered Memories was more oriented to psychological terror and the lack of weapons made it a bit more terrifying than the other releases. This game can also make you know who you are and thats a nice addition to the SH franchise.

Just wanted to point out, that Shattered memories isn't really a remake, rather a parallel universe. The characters are pretty much the same, but, what goes on isn't Canon in the least, at least not for the silent hill we all know and love. THe game, However awesome, is pure fanservice, lol. Although it was alot more interesting than the others, which is kinda hard to do in the first place, lol

@detre07 I feel the reason people didn´t like Homecoming is because it took a lot of things from the movie that didn´t really make sense within the game (like the huge-brested nurses), and because it´s plot was a ripoff of the far superior Silent Hill 2´s.

@detre07 I think that this silent hill was a bit more realistic in some ways, face it ... just by looking at those monsters the last idea on your mind would be whooping their ass with a pipe, the only thing you wanna do is run...fast really fast. Shattered Memories was more oriented to psychological terror and the lack of weapons made it a bit more terrifying than the other releases. This game can also make you know who you are and thats a nice addition to the SH franchise.

@Truterman A cover. Artists do this all the time, they take an existing song and do their own interpretation. Some call it a sophisticated form of plagiarism, others call it a respectful homage. Either way, this is a fantastic song.

Just wanted to point out, that Shattered memories isn't really a remake, rather a parallel universe. The characters are pretty much the same, but, what goes on isn't Canon in the least, at least not for the silent hill we all know and love. THe game, However awesome, is pure fanservice, lol. Although it was alot more interesting than the others, which is kinda hard to do in the first place, lol
