the dress is made of a copy of the antique egyptian fabric assiut and I believe this was used in Suraya Hilals shows "Colors of Cairo or Divine rites. The coreography is also very similar to Hilals style so I think the dancer here got her ispiration from Suraya, beautiful music & dance, I just love this way of baladi.

Hi - not a copy of antique fabric but made from real assuit veils (also called tulle bi telli). And Juliana did train with Suraya. I made a dress myself but it's scary cutting up such wondeful fabric!

Ive just seen Juliana wear the same costume but in orange, gorgeous. Must have been made for Hilal dancers for performance?
