FL is super weak as far as sequencing. Besides, No software can come anywhere close to real analog synthesis. Even digital hardware synths kill software, any plug-in sounds flat and boring.....sorry guys, it is my opinion. Get a Waldorf, Virus, Moog, Dave Smith, anything analog and compare it to software. There is no way you would disagree if you are a real synthesis musician.
Obviously it will always be better hardware, that software, but more and more artists are added to use type programs Reason or Ableton , among other powerful tools.
jarre actually does use reason (and pro tools) with the advent of more powerful pcs and VST instruments pcs can easily emulate and even surpass modern or past synths quite very realistically
jm3mphis: I wouldn't say that any hardware 'kills' software synths. On the analog side there is a difference in warmth ,guts and presence but only when you compare the two side by side. Most listeners couldn't tell what you used in a song. As for digital, really very little difference between the two nowadays and that includes virtual analog hardware. Listen to Korg Legacy or FM7 and tell me that they are miles apart from the real thing, I have owned the real thing and they are very alike.
Some plug-ins sound as good as the resource limitation of your computer. Many keyboard makers released VSTi versions of their keyboards with limitations, so that you would be tempted to give in and buy the $3000 workstation.
@jm3mphis I'm going to disagree there and say that FL is the BEST software for sequencing. You need to dig deeper into it's functionality, you will see that no other software has so many brilliant little functions and solutions for automation. And analog is great, and it sounds great, but you need a warehouse sized room filled with multi-thousand dollar equipment to do all the things you can do with software.
@metabog agreed, FL is way underrated. but if you look around at some of the vids of people ATTEMPTING to use FL studio for various music types, it feeds the arguement that it sucks. Nothing beats having an actual instrument in your hands, but like you said who has the room or money if you're not in mainstream music to have all the equiptment one would LIKE to have.
Great Job!! Glad to see I'm not the only one who likes FL. Now you need to work on the Mastering, its too airy sounding and thin. Try some compression on the Drums and dont use any Hall Effects.
than theres too much reeverb really, i made that mistake a lot too when i started fruitylooping hehe my instict was to make everything echo and reveerb a lot, make it sound big, spacious... but really its better to have clean strong sounds rather than washed out ones, just listen to any electronic music ull see they use little reeverb
Nice try, like it ;)
you meant it as a reinterpretation, or a cover?

jm3mphis, you are claiming weird things :-)
1. I use FL Studio since Logic moved to Mac only. I found FL Studio to be a VERY capable DAW.
2. What you claim about plug-in synths would have been true about 5 years ago.
Nowadays, there are some plug-ins that sound incredibly good.
Of course, if I want something really analog, I use an analog synth, although some plug-ins are really getting close.
And by the way, this video is not a good representation how good plug-ins can sound :-)

With this amazing performance you've shown what a GREAT program FL Studio is! I use it myself and it's the best sequencer out there!
Upload the full version of this!
