Your choice of actions have obviously created a lot of emotional detachment from your mother, don't blame her if she quickly points the finger at you. It is time for you to take the necessary action in earning her trust again. That's a cop out. Yes, it's true that good people do bad things. There's a difference between that and being a career criminal. If this kid changed his life and stopped the antisocial behavior, I'll be the first one to shake his hand. But most of them get released and go right back to it. To be honest, prison rarely rehabilitates people. If anything these younger kids come out worse than when they went in.

It makes prisoners worse because they can't leave .

I got a felony when I was 19, man. Dropped all of my friends that were bringing me down, earned my GED, now I'm about to graduate from community college and transfer to Purdue University for my bachelors degree. The court eventually dropped my felony. Just replace the bad in your life with good.

My probation officer gave me some advice, he said "after you're out of my program, smoke the shit outta weed; just don't take the risk of getting caught and carry it around with you." Good thinking. No, level 100 classes are your beginning entry-level classes. 15 credits should be around 5 classes. I applied for federal student aid and I went to school completely free(Pell grants--don't have to pay anything back), Check into that too.

Juvenile detention centers SUCK ASS. I got sent to one for truancy charges. Hands secured behind back at all times, no eye contact, while in the dayroom you have to raise your hand and say "Permisson to scratch sir" just to scratch yourself and sometimes the bastards would say no. Small cell, metal toilet with sink made into it, thin mat to sleep on with a lump sewn in for a pillow, 2 hours of HARD excercise every morning, and getting screamed at 24/7. I say fuck that shit.
